Alexi Terianis Wow. The original main gun on the baneblade was just a long-barreled battlecannon. When did they switch that out? Also, what are the specs on this 'baneblade' cannon? Buy the Apocalypse book or cheap out and go to your local gaming store and read it up there.

Because apparently the long-barreled no longer is up to date. Strange. I wonder if you can still use the old weapon-set?

It's against the guild rules to ask for rule specifications and against the law to give them.

It's in the guild rules, so I suppose Brookman just had assumed that you'd read them before posting in the guild. And I don't think that anything of VDR or the concept contained within are still valid. If anyone still uses it at all, it'd be Forgeworld. @Ticklish- Wow, you built a Baneblade in a day? Do you have some pictures of this monster up?

I hadn't expected it, I suppose, because I've never come across it before. I'm not really sure if it's actually illegal, but I'll abide by the rules of the guild.

GW is rabid about shutting down anyone who might be giving out rules. So, does anyone here play mechanised guard? I'm thinking about switching over. I've been playing armoured company, but now it's no longer an option, and I'm disappointed to the hit my MBTs have taken to their mobile firepower.

CrackaDoom Copyright laws. GW is rabid about shutting down anyone who might be giving out rules. Technically, I think it even includes using GW images in an avatar, sig, etc. without their permission. Of course they don't actually follow through with it, but I'm almost positive they make mention of it somewhere in that regard. Has there been any major news on Guard recently? Speculation on rules and all that which seem plausible?

Ive been flirting with the Mech idea for some time now. Mostly since I cant stand to build 100 guardsmen then paint them. But ive always run a vehicle heavy force.

After eight months my Elysians are finally assembled. With a little luck I can get them all painted in two weeks, just in time for the home campaign against my brother's Orkish horde.
Here's what I got:
HQ. Veteran Officer - Power fist Veterans (4) - Medic, plasma gun, meltagun and vox caster
Elites. Sniper teams (3) - Sniper with sniper rifle and spotter with lasgun
Troops. Veterans (10) - Veteran sergeant with auxiliary grenade launcher, demo charge, grenade launcher and vox caster
Veterans (8 ) - Veteran sergeant, demo charge, meltagun, vox caster and the entire squad has shotguns
Fast Attack. Drop Sentinel - Multi-melta, extra armour, search light
Grand total: 502 pts.
For the slightly bigger games all the way up to 1.250 pts I might call in the help of either Sisters of Battle or some odds and ends from my Guard collection such as the Centaur gun tractor, the Cyclops, Thudd gun and Vanquisher.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the meltagun and voxcaster in the command squad can't be made into veterans.
