Rioushu

PostPosted: Mon Feb 20, 2006 4:44 pm

Rioushu waited for something he knew was coming to happen as he ran up to the next floor, and sighed as he sensed his clone had been defeated. "Hehehehe, she probably used a strong attack to destroy it, what a jerk." Rioushu said grinning, and was about to jump to the roof from the ceiling, then he saw the minions forming weapons to try and hit him. Oh please Morrigan, this can't be intentional. Rioushu thought, as he hummed while easily avoiding the minions. He then jumped through the ceiling to the roof, not noticing any possible easier paths. "Ouch, that hurt..."

((Yeah, sorry I haven't signed on, for some reason, fate was against me getting on the computer during the weekend))

With a loud crash, Rioushu broke though the ceiling and onto the roof, drawing Morrigan's attention to the area. Spotting Rio, Morrigan boosted as fast as she could to about ten meters to the right of Rio, well out of the range of his swords. Quite a few of the bats that had been chasing him met up with Morrigan on the way and fused with her wings, giving her some more material to work with. Shortly before she got there, she formed a shield for her left side and used the remainder of her wings to create hundreds of tiny fishhooks on lines and threw them out to her left, towards Rio's position. The sheer quantity of the hooks allowed for a wide volume around him to be covered as well.

Morrigan never stopped as she boosted past Rio so that the hundreds of tiny hooks all around him would pull on whatever solid body they could grab.

"Geez, I'm glad I got off the roof..." Gatz said, moving back from the manor a bit to look up at the fight.

Rioushu was surprised by this move from Morrigan as he was watching her near him, not by the speed which she did it in, or the attack itself, but by the fact that he really only had one way to avoid it, though the hooks would eventually catch up unless he thought of something. He put some chakra into his legs, and ran after Morrigan, his speed incredible, and he was catching up to her quickly, hoping his plan would work. "Only one chance, gotta make it count..." Rioushu said, as he jumped high and went to grab onto Morrigan.

Quint groaned to noone as Rio jumped through the ceiling to get to the roof. Couldn't anyone fight without moving less than a mile?

His wings changed back into the sleek black wings he was so used to, and he took off, using the same hole the male fighter made, Morrigan's attack just passing over him as he came through.

Quint then moved a little higher, to get a clear bird's-eye view of the action. Maybe this would turn out to be a little more interesting than he thought.

Rioushu had reacted somewhat similar to what Morrigan had hoped; basically, he didn't jump back down the hole he had made to get up in order to avoid the attack. Instead, he had opted himself to attack by trying to grab onto Morrigan in midair. He was fast enough to catch up, and strong enough to jump to where he needed to. Though Morrigan probably could have dodged the attack, she would have been foolish to throw away an opportunity to attack Rio in a position where he could not maneuver himself further until he got back on solid ground.

The shield Morrigan had been carrying at her side grew in size as the hooks and lines began to recede back into it. By the time Rio was a few feet away and unable to change his course in midair due to the incredible speed at which he had jumped, her shield had grown concave in shape, several rows of teeth, and just viscous enough in order to move itself to chew whatever fell into it. In effect, Rio was jumping into a giant, hungry mouth that would close in around him before he could even land.

Rioushu growled as he saw what he was jumping into, realizing it was too late to avoid it and thinking it was the end of the fight, but then his eyes widened and he drew his sword and started making the appropraite hand signs. This is perfect, Morrigan's going to let me at a distance of which my attack will be unavoidable, even if it costs me some blood, hopefully I'll be able to execute the attack before I get too seriously injured Rioushu thought as he landed in the mouth, finishing the last hand sign. "Mikazuki no mai!" Rioushu said, and another clone appeared behind Morrigan in midair as they went for the same slash.

Quint laughed at the newest turn of events.

"Bet he wishes he could fly now.." Quint said to himself, the polymorphic wings now acting as a pair of gauntlets, so polished they shined in the sun. Trying out new things was something he wanted to do with his wings, because the more he could do with them, the more versatile he became.

Though Morrigan should have expected for Rio to try some indirect attack like clone formation, she didn't. The real Rio landed squarely in the mouth-shield as it closed and began mercilessly chewing him up. It's teeth were razor sharp, so it wouldn't take long for him to be torn to ribbons.

The clone, however, still had full freedom of movement. Although it too was suffering from the effects of Rio's drained soul condition as well as the instability of being in mid-air, Morrigan could do little to defend against its desperate attack in her current position. The sword caught her back, sliced though to her side, disconnected, then reconnected as it sliced halfway through her right arm before it had nothing left to grab and fell helplessly to the ground along with the clone. This rendered her right arm virtually useless, and further strain might cause it to tear off entirely at the bicep.

Whatever Morrigan had paid for the attack, however, Rio was paying in spades, both figuratively and literally. The clone's attack had not caused the mouth to open; rather, it had closed tighter, and Rio was feeling the effects in the form of numerous deep cuts and puncture wounds.

The warning sirens blared in Quint's head, and while the fight was getting a little extreme, he knew that Morrigan would be alright.

Rioushu on the other hand...

Quint groaned, as he would probably have to step in soon. Though he decided to wait for Rio's next move, because he still stood a chance, and as long as he could actively defend himself, he could still fight.

Rioushu tried as much as he could to open the mouth using brute strength, but it wasn't working as he stared getting cuts everywhere, arms, legs, face, back, it looked bleak...until he thought of something. Realistically, I really only have enough chakra for three more jutsus, and I think I know exactly which ones to use Rioushu thought as he started making another set of handsigns. "Well, this may cost me some health, but nothing compared to Morrigan's wing. Katon Goukakyuu no Jutsu!" Rioushu yelled, as once again a giant fireball burned everything in the mouth, including him.

The questions Quint had about Rio were answered in a fierce way when the mouth that Morrigan made burst into flames, hurting not only the deadly morph, but the caster as well.

Now he moved in closer, landing onto the roof, a good twenty yards away from the fighters. Instead of using his wings to make a chair of some kind, he opted for simply floating above the ground, sitting on air. As his hands rested on his knees, he wondered how much fight Rioushu had left in him. Quint thought that volunteering to give up a part of your soul before a fight was asking to be killed, but that man seemed to be doing...decent. Sure, he wasn't fully thinking his attacks through, but Rioushu was putting up a good fight.

He began to whistle off-key.

"I think I'll just call the ambulance right now..." Gatz said casually, pulling out his cell phone.

He hadn't mentioned who the medical attention would be meant for.

Though a lesser fireball may have simply turn the trap into a pressure cooker, Rio's was large and powerful enough to actually dissipate the wings for a while. The resulting explosion from his fireball blew out the mouth-shield and threw Morrigan quite a bit off-balance. What used to be Rio's prison was now a collection of disoriented bats frantically flying around in awkward circles, trying in vain to compose themselves. Meanwhile, off to the side Morrigan was spinning nearly out of control from the blast.

Rio, however, was hurled in the opposite direction. His back had hit the wall of the mouth, as well as a large tooth, before it evaporated. It left a gaping hole in his back almost though to his chest, along with all of the other wounds he had received. Combining that with the soul and chakara he had lost, the impact he received from hitting the side of the manor and and subsequently the ground, and the fact the he was now literally on fire, Rio wasn't looking so good.

Rioushu looked at the major wound he had just recieved, and still in shock, he started coughing up blood. He covered his mouth as he rolled out of the mouth-shield, he was falling through the air when he switched positions as he landed on his feet, sure he heard something snap. He only then realized he was on fire and started rolling on the ground. When the fire was put out, he looked around and realized he had landed somewhere in the forest. He got up slowly, his legs killing him and shaking as he limped to a tree and leaned against it. "Oh man, if I'm lucky Morrigan will have a bit of trouble finding me..." Rioushu said quietly, as he sat down against the tree, trying to gather up as much chakra as possible for what would be his final attack.
