Michael noticed the grunts and smiled. "Squirt, looks like you're up dude. You know the routine." Squirtle watched as one turned his back before launching a light water pulse at him. When it hit the grunt turned around and yelled, "You'll pay for that punk! Go Numel." Squirt looked at the fire type and just launched a full power water pulse. The attack hit the numel and it fainted right on the spot. The grunt then sent out a Hondour, which tried to use fire fang but missed. "Squirt finish it off with water pulse!" Squirt let out another water pulse which hit the fire dark type and caused it to faint. The grunt saw the look in the trainer's eyes and ran away.

Rei smirked. Today was just a battle-filled day. His opponent, a haughty-looking Flare grunt, squared off against him.
She huffed. "Get lost. You're not so tough." She tossed out her Slugma.
Rei frowned. Sure, he wasn't the highest-ranking officer in Team Aqua, but what he lacked in rank, me made up for in ability. "Well, fine, suit yourself. Seems to me like you just want to lose. Come on out, Leviathan. Don't even bother with Focus Energy this time, just blast it with Bubblebeam." After taking a moment to build up pressure, the Horsea shot off a stream of bubbles laden with water at the fire slug, each bubble stinging against the Slugma's unprotected body. It cried in pain and attempted to set Horsea on fire, but only spat out a weak flame, which did nothing to the Water-type. Rei laughed at the pathetic display.
"Finish it off with a Brine." The salty blast of water from Horsea's snout tore through Slugma's defenses and destroyed it. The grunt recalled her Slugma and sent out a Zubat.
"Ha! You grunts sure don't get much in variety, do you?" Rei teased, withdrawing his Horsea. "Cho, you're up." The Venipede jumped out of the Pokéball and faced the Zubat.
"Cho, Defense Curl." The Venipede curled itself up tightly into a ball, protecting its more vulnerable spots. The Zubat swooped down and bit at the Venipede, sinking its teeth into the bug, but unable to reach any weak spots.
"Now, use Rollout!" The Venipede launched itself into action, spinning wildly before crashing into the Zubat, knocking it to the ground and scraping its delicate wings against the floor. The Zubat cried in pain and, with glowing wings, struck out against the Venipede.
Super-effective! The unfortunate Cho was unable to finish the fight without passing out in the process. Rei called back his Venipede before it was too far gone, and sent out Yami, his Scyther.
"It's weak. You've fought against the Countess plenty of times. You know what to do." The Scyther immediately made illusory copies of itself, surrounding the enemy Zubat.
The grunt smirked. "As if that'll trick my Zubat. Wing Attack again!" The Zubat zoomed towards an image of a Scyther, but unfortunately, failed to connect a hit. From behind, the true Scyther lunged out and slashed its blades against the small frame of the bat, downing it. The grunt, defeated, had nothing to say. She hissed at Rei and took off.
Rei patted his Scyther on the shoulder. "Good job, Yami. We did well today." The Scyther nodded in agreement, and returned to its Pokéball. Rei then waited for his team to mop up, trying to ignore the shaking on his belt as his Magikarp flopped about in glee, its Exp. Share once again giving all the benefits of a battle without pain.

Memo strut over to a Flare Grunt and scoffed. Cereza just happily waved over to the enemy. "You're totally killing that color for me...so before I decide to never wear my favorite pair of boxer briefs I'm gonna send you packing." The Flare Grunt was now steaming and before he could even get a word out Memo sent out Lyfa and narrowed his eyes. The male grunt sent out a Purrloin and the battle started off with Lyfa being knocked back by Fury Swipes! "Comet Punch!!" The 2 duked it out until finally they took each other out with a finishing Slash by the swift cat and a Crunch by the Aquan's big hearted cub. "Ya did good sweetie." While this battle was taking place Memo had sent Cereza out to buy some Potions so he can send out Flír! Once the Feebas was out the Flare sent out his Litwick! Memo used a Super Potion straight away and skipped a turn. It attacked with an Ember that practically did nothing! "Loser " Memo muttered to Cereza as they both giggled. The Flare called out again for an attack and sent out a Shadow Ball instead. "Mirror Coat!" The blank looking fish took the brunt of the attack and sent it back to do major damage ending the battle! Memo praised and withdrew his champion fish before looking at the Flare Grunt with a look that could only be matched by Regina George herself. "Bye " He said with a wave of the wrist and walked off to meet his squadmates.

Maddy watched as the Team Flare grunts ran off, leaving town through a Northwestern exit. She shrugged and turned to her teammates. "I guess that's enough for today." She said. "Let's go home." She reached into her pocket and let out her Fletchinder. "I have a few errands to run. I'll post the rewards in a few minutes!" With that, she took off on the Fire/Flying-type Pokemon.

Michael watched as the captain headed off so he decided to begin the journey back. As he walked he looked down at his ever growing family and smiled. "Wow to think Squirt. We left Little Root Town only a couple of weeks ago and now look at all of our friends." The Squirtle looked up and nodded and to the others in their own language he said, "It is nice to have a bunch of new friends." The other three Pokemon agreed. Even the newly caught Eevee. Not long after they made it back to the hotel, where Michael just headed for his usual restin place. The top of the nearest hill. As he laid on the ground with his hat over his eyes, he felt a hand on his pocket. He lifted his hat and saw Squirt patting around his pockets. "Hungry, Squirt or something? Well here then old friend." He reached into his satchel and pulled out the three candies from his previous mission with the others. He unwrapped them and tossed them to Squirt, who caught all three at once. As Squirt swallowed he was bathed in a white light and he began to grow a little. A few seconds later where a small light blue Squirtle had once stood now a semi dark blue Wartortle stood in its place. "Well you are no Squirt anymore ehh, Squirt? Can't believe you are not a Squirtle any more, but I am right here. Congrats Squirt." Michael smiled before placing his hat over his head and falling asleep.

Rei, tired after the day's events, waved goodbye to his captain and watched the grunts take off.
"I didn't know there was a route that way..." He turned to his Zubat.
"I guess we're too tired to follow the goons, though, eh? It's been a long day. Maybe next time." The Countess shrieked in agreement, and the two walked back to their temporary base, stopping by the Pokémon Center to swap out his Treecko for the Eevee. As the sun began to set, the Trainer and his Zubat walked back to the beach. Rei called out his Eevee and introduced himself.
"Hey there, little one. Sorry we met on bad terms. I'm Rei. I hope you'll enjoy being with us a while." He smiled, trying to not frighten the newcomer. The Eevee had more guts than he gave it credit for; after deciding that everything would be ok, the Eevee began playing with his new Trainer, jumping back and forth in the shallow waves. The trio fooled around for a while longer before heading back to the hotel, now thoroughly exhausted.

One of the best things about staying up late was the stars on Route 8. Colton was able to walk up and down the beach front while listening to the dreams of Krabby. "I wonder if the Taros constellation will be out tonight..." he wondered to himself as he nodded to the clouds coming steadily landward. A storm was coming and with it, a tidal wave.

It was a beautiful morning in Cyllage City today. Maddy was sitting out on the deck of the hotel, looking out over the ocean and enjoying the breeze coming off of it. The waves glistened beautiful as the morning sun hit them. Maddy let out a small sigh and ordered herself a glass of lemonade to enjoy. "Today would be a nice day for a beach party."

Memo and Cereza opened their window to take in a huge breath of fresh morning air. "So beautiful..." The duo spotted Maddy down on the deck. With a gentle yell Memo called out to his friend with a smile and wave. The Aquan made quick work of jumping down from his room and using his acrobatics to make his way down. "Gotta love this Kalos weather hehe. Good morning, Maddy." He sat by her side and asked a staff member for a glass of sweet moscato.

Maddy's lemonade arrived and was set on the table before her. She pulled a small flask from her handbag and poured a few drops in her drink. "I find the weather around this part of Kalos to be exceptionally beautiful." She said to Memo as he took a seat. "I hope it's like this everywhere." She still hadn't seen enough of Kalos. It really was a new world to her. "Have to say, though. Watching the sun rise over the ocean hear is nothing like back in Vermillion City."

"So far I'm inclined to agree with you." The boy played with his hair and let Cereza make her way to Maddy where she greeted the young lady with a gentle brush of her leaf. "Chika!" The boy's wine arrived promptly and after a thank you was administered, Memo took a gulp and cracked his neck. "You should see Olivine City's sunrise from the hills above the beach. I have a feeling you'd enjoy that."

Maddy took a sip of her lemonade. "Olivine was nice. The lighthouse is also a good place to watch the sunrise. I bet Cianwood is nice too." She let out a small sigh. "I didn't spend much time there though. Islands are kinda like dead ends when you're on the run." She smirked a little and took another sip of lemonade, giving Memo's Chikorita a pat on the head. There was a burst of light and Maddy's pink and white Skiddo, Muffin, appeared out of her Pokeball. She climbed up onto one of the chairs and began nudging Maddy's drink with her nose. Her trainer moved the glass from her reach and ordered an apple for the goat-like Pokemon.

"This is true hehe." The boy giggled in agreement and took another drink from his wine glass, which was almost empty. He tapped the glass with his fingernail and as it pinged fond memories of the Johto region played. He swooned a bit as another breeze made its way through the deck. "Chikari!" Cereza greeted Maddy's beautiful little Skiddo with an excited run around it. "Maddy you're Skiddo is adorable!" He extended his hand out hoping the little goat would take a liking to him. "Hi there cutie. I'm Memo and that there is Cereza. Pleased to meet you."

Muffin inspected Memo's hand and then bit down on it. She didn't apply any pressure, but she just held his hand cutely in her mouth. It seemed she had a weird way of learning about things. Maddy chuckled, watching Muffin carefully to make sure she didn't actually try to harm Memo for some reason. "Yeah, we found a recolor guy in Lumiose City. He uses a machine and it colors your Pokemon to match their personality. This is how she came out." Maddy downed her glass of lemonade and called for a waitress to come and refill it.
