Seto smiled weakly, though it was hard to smile when your jaws were clenched. He brushed past the pharaoh as he left, his entire body tense. Atem sighed and closed the door as Seto left, then looked at Ayira. "How long have you been awake? I take it Seto's told you what's been going on, at least." He pretended that he hadn't been listening to them.

"You're probably going to be bedridden for a while." Atem commented, going over to the side of the bed. "Once things calm down, I'll send out some men to go capture Bakura and whoever's working with him." He took a seat down next to the bed, sighing lightly, completely changing the topic. "I take it that you wish to be with Priest Seto, right? In marriage, I mean."

"Oh, don't worry, I understand that." Atem said. "He's not going to be here for a while, though. Even though he's gotten the Millennium Rod back, I still think he needs time away from all of this. For his own good. He'll be gone for the season. As soon as you're well, you could join him, I suppose. But not for a while." Atem was bitter, that much was true. He convinced himself that he was doing this for Seto's own good, but he just couldn't stand to be around Seto anymore. He couldn't stand to be around a person who had managed to steal a woman away from him. He looked at Seto and saw Akhenaden. He was afraid that Seto might hate him for killing his father, and want revenge. All kinds of problems.

"I'm sure he'll agree with me when I say that that's best." Atem said casually, waving his hand slightly. He was pharaoh. If he said something, his people agreed with him. That was the drill. "I need to look in on Nanu again. Give him that message, would you?" He was honestly terrified of the thought of telling Seto that himself. Seto could be so intimidating.

Atem blinked. Had he just been... denied? His eyes narrowed, into amethyst slits. "Very well. He doesn't have to know, I suppose. But he's leaving all the same." He said coldly, getting up. He didn't care to deal with backtalk from someone like Ayira. After their broken off engagement, he could care less what she thought of him.

"Okay. See you later." Atem said cheerfully, as though he hadn't been a complete a*****e moments ago. He waved a little at Ayira as he left, closing the door and then yawning. He went back to Nanu's room, poking his head in to see if she was awake still.

Nanu was awake and chewing on a sliver of fruit. Beside her wasa fruit that had been cut up. Only the small piece nanu was eating was missing from it.
