:::Cora made sure that Nyx was steady before she took her hands away. Then she put her fingertips to her chest:::
Oh dear! Nyx...! You know I have actually seen people here with beast ears! And they claim that they are natural! :::as though it was a sad fate:::
:::But Cora was destracted when she heard Tavin speaking to someone. She looked over to see who it was. My goodness...its Selurnis. I have not seen her in ages! I wonder, how long it has been for her, and if she's recovered from the last time we met She decided not to interupt the Captain, he surely had everything under control:::

Tavin *Tavin smiled softly* That door does lead back, Selurnis. Back to where you came from. Back to what you were. Are you willing to do that? What if I said that you could stay here and be normal again... forever? And all you had to do was to never go back?
"I can't stay," she repeated quietly, but as firmly as she could, "A good friend of mine needs me. He's always been by my side and... I can't do anything for him outside of this place... because I'm only a ghost outside of this place... But I can at least be where he is right now."
She paused for a moment, rubbing her arm uncomfortably... It seemed like Tavin could read her mind.

Um... Cora, no. Are you talking about Robyn? Her appearance is completely natural. ::Nyx shook her head.:: Her looking the way she does has nothing to do with the brink. Those ears on top of her head and tail coming out of her behind have been with her since birth, as far as I know.

Tac righted Nyx's chair and pulled out one for Cora as well, offering the two to sit down, not wanting to get into the conversation, then glanced to Tavin as he headed towards the bar, "You want some cake? Cake is more awesome than anything you know." He rumaged behind the bar as he leaned over it, producing plates, forks, and a cake-cutting knife...thing.

::Nyx blinked, slightly taken aback.:: Well, I myself don't have to imagine what it'd be like, but...uh, why do you sound so sorry for them? They aren't physically deformed or handicapped by having feline traits. It doesn't give them any sort of disadvantages... actually, I would think that it makes things easier.

:::Cora sat down in the seat Tac had pulled for her, and adressed Nyx. The manner was sort of like how old ladies talk over english tea and crackers...almost gossipy. Cora didn't know just how appropriate it seemed, the cake and all:::
Well I don't know really, what that sort of genetic lineage does to their health...but the appearance is just so, akward! :::She looks up at Tacitus, particularly at the little horns sticking out from along side his temples::: You don't see such things in my time, it's all too strange.

Tac set the plates down and spread out the forks, almost to the point where he'd start giggling with glee over the cake, mostly half-singing to himself, "Cake, cake, I wish to fondle its pastry cousins. Cake is good, its good to eat, yum yum yum cake." During his song he had cut several slices and put them on plates. He started passing them around as he finally got around to making a non-cake comment, "These here," he tapped one horn with the cake knife, "are up here because of magical interference and by choice. Well...choice in not getting rid of 'em. You'd be surprised what horns are good for." He wore a small smirk as he sat down.
