But this is 40k and Ethereals are not four-star generals. How about a Crisis Suit especially designed for the Ethereal caste, complete with oversized honour blade, a bit like O'Shova but less heretical in their eyes.

re:Generals on the frontlines - ever heard of Rommel? in 1940 he personally commanded the 88mm battery that stopped British counterattack at Arras, and in the desert he was always in the thick of fighting, sometimes well ahead of his own tanks.

There was an airborne general who partook in the Normandy landings. He didn't survive the landing though.

Are marker lights even physical objects? If they're the weird looking Grenade, why not just take regular grenades, cut them from one another and glue the bottoms onto a rounded piece of sprew. Then you just cut down to size and shape the now larger end. They're hand-sized then and look about right...

Yes, markerlights in Pathfinder squads are on top of the carbine.
