rofl Well, I did say 'for the most part.'

That's true though: I've seen quite a few that think once you hit 16 or 18, you're OMIGOD WAY TOO OLD!!!!111one! So to be 20 or older, you're ancient.

It's annoying but it's also so much fun to be able to point out that I was buying my first manga when most of them were just learning to read. mrgreen Or that anime clubs have been on college campuses since the 1970's and that role playing games have been around just as long. They always have this weird idea that just because Manga and anime are what the cool kids like now, that prior to 3 years ago, they never existed.

Yeah. I get that too. I also seem to get that in Conquer Online that me and josh play together. He doesn't like me to tell people how old we are.. because people start to act different. even though, our server has gotten a larger proportion of adults and parents playing there. But, we get these influxes of teens during the summer and winter breaks.

Soon as I tell them a mom and 30.. they are like, "So, if you're a mom, what are you doing playing a game like this" and I'm like. mad stare "What? So, just because I got older doesn't mean I can't enjoy the same things I used to enjoy? Whoever said these games were only for teens? Who the hell do you think MAKES these games? I bet you it's not teenie boppers like you living at home mooching off their parents to fund the development of this game. I bet it's people close to my age who are working for a living to support their families. How about that?" rolleyes

sad That's horrible and it's just an ugly reminder that as a people [the world over] , we really haven't made as much progress as we like to say we have. It's sickening that attitudes like that are still around and in full swing acting out. I know change takes time...but you'd think it could go a *bit* faster then this.

It just makes me sick, to think of all that hate simmering under the surface. It makes you realise that there are still plenty of ignorant people around, they just know it isn't PC now, so they learn to cover it up in some ways... until furnished with an opportunity like these riots.

It really is sad to see how people just abondon all reason the moment the oppertunity arises. I just liks you said Mara, people just put on a good front until the think they can get away with acting like a stupid animal (no offence to animals). It's not only completely shameful, it's frightening. How can people be so hateful? I don't think I'll ever understand it. sad

Glad to hear your move went ok. I don't remember you were going to move. I remember you were going out of town for a few weeks. Hmm.. Then again, with as much as I work and as tired and frazzled as I am when i get home. It's bloody likely I have misread, completely missed, and anything else for hte past week or so. It would seem this week isn't getting any better. I didn't manage to dodge some of the midnight closings this year. I am not doing as many as my previous 2 christmases there. However, I have to midnight two nights in a row. Will be tiring as I'm not used to working that late. I'll be coming home and going right to bed to get up to send naaman off to school. Maybe Josh will be a doll and send naaman friday morning. Then again, I could be on crack so... rolleyes j/k about the crack. i'm so not the "in the drugs" scene kinda girl. cool Gaia is my antidrug. That and comcast on demand.

I am almost done with christmas shopping. Only 2 more gifts to buy, but I might get one more extra one for my grandparents. You know they are really getting older these days. I think it would be great for everyone to make their remaining years as comfy as possible. They are about in their 70's somewhere. I realize it's entirely possible they might live another ten years or so.. but who knows. I am slowly patching things up with my grandma. I think she realizes that I won't allow family to disrespect no matter who they are. She seems to have been working extra hard to get me to come back to family events and such. I still won't get to go to their annual get together cuz they just have to have it on a sunday. Lord knows it's next to impossible to get sundays off. For me it is, anyways.

I have a much smaller Christmas list this year, thankfully. Last year I went overboard on my boyfriend, and I ended up spending about $600+ on a list of 20+ people, and I had no job. I completely depleted my bank account, and have had low reserves of money since then.

So this year, I have a smaller list, and I have an actual job. School just finished for the semester, so I can work full-time until the new year, when I go back to school in early Jan. 06. 3nodding

Manda, it's actually snowed enough and hard enough for the kids to get out of school early. xd They actually have snow days here. I know the one year I went to school here we didn't get snow days and it snowed more then than it does now.

Wow, Gaia must have recently come back up. This is the first post made in the guild today. LOL.

Anyone have an idea of what this 'migration' was about. Everything seems the same to me so far.
