Master Vegilla
Mr. Maniac
ever heard of the "unknown territory"? Around 1/4th of the galaxy is "not on the explanation charts"
With our 6 billion people on earth, how many are in the militairy. Quite a few in war zones, then again, humans work on independence and have an own will, they don't want to be in the militairy. But what if they're forced to? You can get a large army from 6 billion folks then, and 40 billion or whatever is in the systems quite a lot more, especially with less free will than humans. It is easy to force people to stay with the available tech; all traffic is registered, so unmented trespassers, especially in a system living in fear for attacks from outside, will be shot.

And who says they use durasteel? why not some other metal? Physics count in the entire galaxy, so if with a bit of brains, you'll eventually come to the same conclusions as scientists on other planets; perhaps ealier, perhaps later, but they will. And was I talking about one system? No, 7 liveable planets; did I mention the less or unhabitated planets in any post? No, I did not. In an area with 7 habitated planets, there are over 100 unhabitated, at least.
And darkmatter can be created, mining it seems kind of hard as it dissapears when in contact with any form of "normal" matter :/
Yo- *sigh* This is pointless. Your like a Democrat. You pick what subjects you can fight over and leave the rest. Even when you know your wrong you still argue.

If people started to explore in a sector, and they never came back, dont you think people would use their brains? And do you know what happens with a draft? A resistance. We call them hippies nowa days. They refuse to serve and run away/hide. And you cannot say that there wouldnt be any of those people. When there is force, there is resistance. If you force everyone to stay on the planetor in the systems, they will just want to know whats out there ever stronger. Like the good princess said. The stronger your grip becomes, the more people slip through your fingers. If people exploring are shot, the explorers will just learn new ways around getting caught.

And while your wrong about a lot of people being in the military, your right about there being a lot of wars. And like I just said, without other influences you wouldnt have advanced tech. You might have different tech, but it would probally suck compared to tech that an entire galaxy had a hand in. And with systems that large that no one has found yet for some mysterious reason... well lets just say some 'explorers' are going to find it. And I use the term Mine roughly, but whatever.

Talking about democrats, you are would be the dictator I guess. Or perhaps republican would fit, they don't care about what the results of actions are either and just do what they want, and everything has to go as they want it. Iraq, the Kyoto congres, enough examples...

You planned the whole rp in your head probably, and any "unexpected" influences, like this, that do not fit into your plan just have to be "killed"?

I mean, the rest doesn't care. Only you care, because you see it as a treat to your plans, eh? Now perhaps not everything goes as you wanted it to go?
Well, I don't frikkin care. I can ask you the same question about most things

How did the imperials manage to keep their secret fleets out of sight, why did none of your people flee to the galaxy to betray you?
Is it called Loyalty? Yes, I think it is. Loyalty that perhaps my people have too?

I can send an explorer on you, too, if you wish. "accidently" of course. no matter how unrealistic it is. As said, 1/4th of the galaxy is unexplored. A lot of big systems haven't been found; or are found but forgotten.
And it is possible to develop different sufficient techs. Did earth ever contact anyone outside the planet? No, but tech is advancing each day.
Back to star wars, the Ssi Ruuk? Or the Vong you love so much? They are strong, in a different way. Independence leaves more room to think and develop in a different, perhaps better way, than being bound to republic rules.

If Vegilla is a dictator I will gladly Heil to him. cool

Umm...Maniac...The Universe is endless so unless a wall was made then there is more than 1/4 left undiscovered. I think Vegilla is trying to say that how could a planet which im sure is somewhere in the rim worlds, but im not sure where you exactly placed them could have built a fleet of a large size without anyone in the entire galaxy noticing despite if it was not in republic space, they would have some hint of the fleet being there because most 'Empires' like to know where there possible enemies are. Like im sure the Republic knows where the Imperial fleet is because they would have to make stops on planets once in a while to get supplies and they would be tracked on every move they made. Im not saying its not realistic that they built the fleet, but im saying that the Republic would have a hint of military presence in that area due to Merchants and other such people coming in from all over the galaxy. I mean it would be possible to build the fleet in that small time by pushing the work force to increase productivity by a payload which would also result in a high death occurence for the planet if you were using people to produce the ships.

I really didn't want to get involved in this arguement, especially if I had to take a side, but I think I'm going to have to.

Firstly, I don't approve of having three people ganging up on Maniac. Vegilla chose to try to correct Maniac's flaw, and it should have stayed at that. Pyro and Sycrause, please kindly butt out smile

Now to tear everything to pieces and re-build it. I'm a bit to curious to know exactly what happened in the three years to make Maniac in charge of the planet, but I'm sure we can think of something to cover that.

If Maniac is dictator of the planet and is forcing everyone to be in the military, then that is that. Yes, in WW2 and whatever, people were exempt from being in the military because of their views on war or because of physical/mental problems. However, this is in a fictional story. If Maniac wants everyone in it because of the way his system runs the planet, then there is no arguement round that. Simple.

I am willing to accept that he has his millions of people in the military, as long as the majority of them are simply workers and not actually troops.

So the Republic would know about the army would they, Sycrause? So what about your army? Surely they would have to be known about to, in all fairness. Besides, the Republic might not know. They have spent the last three years trying to stop social disorder caused by the Imperials leaving. The Republic would have spent a lot of time regaining control of systems under Imperial command, which would have taken up a lot of their time, in an attempt to stop other factions forming. The RP is set literally a few days after the Republic has finally regained control of the last Imperial controlled planet.

Ok, so a few people might have escaped the planet because of the opression there, right? So? Yeah, a few might have, but do you honestly think the Republic has time to deal with one little opressive system when the whole galaxy faces turmoil? I don't think so.

Happy? No? Tough! This arguement is going to delay the RP even more than me not finishing the Imperial thread. If you're not happy with what I said, when we'll have to come to another, more simple solution so that we can start the RP quickly, which will be an "Admins only" decision, so we'll have to wait until Xiao comes back from her trip. The only solution I can think of is not allowing any other factions apart from Imperial and Republic, which I really don't want to do, and I'm certain Xiao will agree with me on that.

Erg I wasnt ganging up on Maniac I was trying to point out some stuff to both Vegilla and Maniac, and Im not saying the Republic wouldnt know of happenings of a force being built but in the story line its being built in secret. Sure they would know that something is going, which I was trying to point out in my post earlier that the Republic would know there is a force but wouldnt know what kind of military threat it actually posed. I was also taking in the fact that they wouldnt act due to social disorder. So dont accuse me of ganging up on Maniac it was a general purpose post to show what Veggy may have been trying to point out and what Maniac would possible doing.

Well, at least we don't drop bombs on the subjects we can't fight over, so as to get rid of the evidence that there was one that you couldn't win. And remember, the illiteracy rate in this country are appualing.

-=not explored

Quite possible to be hidden; there are systems "explored and forgotten", even withing the known territories (like a few unexplored parsecs somewhere in the middlerim holding unknown planets)
Several Large armies came from those unexplored terretories, it is not that unlikely
