Kilik was a very impressed with all the get-ups that the old folks were wearing. "Man," he laughed, "I had no idea there were so many fancy people in Hoenn," he said to himself, scratching his chin. A man walked by and offered him a cup of tea. The boy obliged and took the platter and cup, sipping it a bit. Not bad! he thought then shuddered. "Could use more sugar," he whispered, walking over to a table. He poured a little sweetener into the cup, stirring it with a very small spoon that was provided. He was nearly about to take a sip when he felt a hand touch his shoulder. "Yikes!" he jumped a bit, his monocle popping off and into his tea. Kilik spun, looking at Mitsu right in the face, panting heavily. "M-Mitsu!" he laughed, pulling the chain of his monocle out of the teacup, drying it with his glove. He popped it back on.
"Didn't think I'd see ya so soon," he laughed, putting the tea down on the table, holding out his arm for her to take. "Walk with me? I think I heard some Pokemon down the hall," Kilik pointed a few halls down.

When he noticed Mai enter the room, Giovanni closed the folder on his desk. "Yes, Mai. I have a mission, special for you. You're the only one that I know who can handle it." He stood up and walked over to the blonde haired woman. "Head towards Lilycove City," Giovanni said sternly, "conceal your identity and head towards the Sinnoh Region. Those wretched kids are headed there soon, and I do not want to lose sight of them!" The man put his hands on her shoulders and looked her dead in the eye. "Place trackers on all of them you find. Furthermore, I want you to stay in Sinnoh and bring me as many Pokemon as you possibly can. Take a few lackies with you, and send them back with the Pokemon you find, on the next ship departing from the region." He let her go and moved away, sitting back in his chair, propping his feet up on the desk. "And I will have you execute my newest plan when I have completed it. You are...the new Heir to Team Rocket. Understood, Mai?"

Mitsu laughed, apologizing for his tea and monocle. She hadn't meant to scare him after all. A couple of trainers a few feet away snickered at the slight mishap. Mitsu heard them, but decided to pay no attention to them. She didn't want any snooty rich kid, or kids in this case, to ruin her last night in Hoenn. Well not her last, last night, but she was going to be training in Sinnoh for a while. She'd get strong enough to take on not only Tate and Liza but Wallace as well.
Mitsu returned to reality upon hearing Kilik's voice. "Of course," she replied looping her arm into his. Her face suddenly flushed red for a second as she remembered the kiss earlier that day. She willed herself to regain her composure quickly, laughing sheepishly in the process. "Wonder if they'll have any Sinnoh Pokemon. It'd be pretty awesome to commission an egg," she added as an after thought. Not that she had much money on her at the moment, and as decked out as this place was, she doubted she could afford to commission an egg anyways.

Kasiya didn't have to wait long for Cynthia to reenter the small dressing room, and when she did Kasiya almost didn't recognize her. The Sinnoh Champ was looking more beautiful than ever, wearing a sleek black evening gown that flowed elegantly down the the floor, concealing whatever footwear she happened to have chosen for that evening. Her hair was pulled back by a loose-fitting, single black ribbon and she'd only put on a touch of makeup in order to bring out her already stunning features. With practiced ease she applied cover-up to mask Kasiya's bruises, adding only a touch of eye-liner and mascara to enhance her bright, blue eyes. Though Kasiya resisted in a near childlike manner at first, she finally allowed Cynthia to apply a light coating of red lipstick as well, though when she finally looked in the mirror, Kasiya could only blink at the grown-up stranger that stared back at her. "That's really me, isn't it?" she'd asked, though Cynthia had replied with only an enthusiastic nod and only after tying on a black smock-thing around her waist and subsequently moving over all of her Pokeballs and other various important goods did she allow the Champ to lead her out and into the hall, where some guests had already started arriving.
Kasiya quickly learned that her position wouldn't be a very difficult one, as for the most part she'd be in charge of the non-alcoholic "bar" and after the head caterer, Saul, had taught her the basics, she was left on her own, though quite elated to learn that any (non-alcoholic, of course) drinks she had for the evening would be on the house. There were a surprising number of young people attending this Gala and almost immediately Kasiya was put to work, though she was quite pleased to discover that this was something she was good at - her friendly and outgoing nature allowed her to greet each customer with a smile and she'd made several new 'temporary' friends in only the first twenty minutes. When her first lull in the drinks line did come up, Kasiya happily fixed herself a cherry-laden Shirley Temple and leaned up against the counter, overtly scanning the crowd for anyone she knew. Interestingly enough, the first person she saw was the tiny blonde-haired girl from yesterday, Serenity, enter with an older girl with dark hair, though their features were similar enough to give away the fact that they were related, perhaps maybe even sisters. She hadn't expected to see Sere here after everything that happened yesterday, but she figured that she must be trying to put it out of her mind, just like everyone else who'd been involved.
Only a split second later did she recognize a second person from yesterday, though she had to do a double-take at the sight of her. It was the raven-haired girl Riza, and Kasiya couldn't help but marvel at the stunningly beautiful dress she'd chosen to wear, and it was at about that time she realized with a painful, jealous pang that she wouldn't get to wear a beautiful gown and pretend she was a fairytale princess dancing at the prince's ball. The shock of seeing not one, but two people she knew in all of two seconds wasn't enough to prepare her for the third person to fall into her line of sight, and her breath caught in her throat as all she could do was stare. I don't believe it... it's him. she thought, now mindlessly scooping ice into a glass before passing an opened bottle of iced tea to a mildly attractive brown-haired boy who paid and uttered a simple 'thanks' before going on his way. In her mind she'd known all along that Keegan would be here, as it had been her main reason for trying to find a way into the Gala in the first place, but as she watched him and Riza together it quickly became apparent that they were here together. Tears prickled at the corners of her eyes but Kasiya quickly dabbed them away with a napkin to avoid ruining her makeup, and slapping on a fairly obviously-fake smile, turned her attention to her next customer - a pretty girl with sky-blue hair.

Dante sighed as he looked down into the bag his mom had given him, great just great. He had thought he had gotten away from cross-dressing at the last gym he was in, but no that did not seem to be the case. At least it looked ok, and it would match all of his new 'jewelry' the legendaries had so 'kindly' given him. Glancing down at Hera who was having fun spinning the toilet paper down onto the floor Dante sighed once more before resigning himself to his fate. Taking in a deep breath he eyed the dress once more before shaking his head and starting to strip down.
The dress itself wasn't that bad really it wasn't it was just a long sort of dress with roman like draping on it so it would hide the fact that he obviously didn't have a chest. Slipping it on Dante turned to look at himself in the mirror and sighed. Great just great, what made matters worse was the fact that he could actually pass as a woman, he had thought that maybe he might have grown out of this by now but that didn't seem to be the case. As he looked at himself in the mirror he fiddled slightly with one of the silver bands at his wrists now. At least he had jewelry that kinda matched what he was wearing and it kinda matched, not that he could take it off. Sighing once more Dante looked down at the large feather and four gems that usually hung around his neck and wondered what to do with them.
He couldn't exactly leave them here he was required at all times to wear them. Maybe he could put them in his hair or something? He needed to do something with it anyways. So running his fingers through the auburn mess he picked up the string and started to wind it around his head. When he finished the four gems shone brightly atop his head and his long Ho-oh feather hung down the middle of his back. Now all he had left was to put on makeup, something he didn't carry around on him. That seemed to be no problem though because for some reason the guys restroom, or this one at least, seemed to have some makeup in it, no eyeshadow or anything but hey Dante was sure there was enough to at least make him look a bit more like a woman, though he wasn't sure he wanted that to much.
When he finally finished Dante looked down at Hera who just stared at him with her dark eyes and frowned. "You seem to be taking this very well." He muttered to the Heracross who just continued to stare at him happily.
'Well, I never knew you had it in you retainer.' A voice chuckled in his head.
'Haha! I knew watching him would be the most fun we had in a long time!'
"You wanna know what I think? Well I think you guys should stay out of my head." Dante muttered knowing that if he was outside people might think he was crazy. "Anyway I can't get anything done stuck in here. Dress or not I am getting that egg commissioned sometime tonight." That said Dante slipped his wallet into the small purse his mom and oh so thoughtfully provided handed his regular bag to Hera and stepped out into the gala.
((Ok small note for all of you who don't remember Dante's crossdressing escapades from before. As much as he hates it he really does look like a girl and it would be kinda hard to tell him apart from one since to his horror he has been doing this for a while.))

"Were not going to get hit again back to back! Raz use Detect to dodge that blow!" Robin ordered with another dramatic point. At her side Luffy watched the battle with envious eyes, yeah he was impressed with the turn around Robin had but he really wanted to go battle now! He had his new tail that he wanted to try out!
Raz was very happy with the idea of not getting hit by that water attack so he might have used Detect a bit sooner then he had to. Easily dodging the attack the small Yanma taunted his opponents in the air with some fancy flying above them.

For the time being Riza was content just to watch the other people as they entered and met up with their friends, though mostly she was mentally criticizing their choice of outfits. One tall man in particular stood out like a sore thumb, as his very elaborate tuxedo was a bright orange colour, complete with a matching cape that looked like a pair of Charizard wings draped across his back. He wore a tall hat as well, which was accented by a rainbow-coloured feather, and Riza couldn't help but shake her head at him. In particular the people who's outfits mimicked Pokemon were the worst of all as for the most part they were tacky and very much overdone.
"Get a load of that guy," she chuckled, nudging Keegan with her elbow. "What was he thinking?" Out of the corner of her eye she saw someone waving to them and she looked over, a little surprised to see the girl from the ferry, and she waved back before looking to Keegan. "Serenity's here too," she said, frowning when she saw his feet resting on the table and she didn't hesitate to thwack him with her purse. "What are you, a moron? This is supposed to be a classy event! Where are your manners?" When she was through scolding him she huffed and stood up before making her way over to Serenity's table. The smaller girl looked quite nice and a lot more rested than Riza remembered seeing before, and she smiled. "Boys are stupid," she stated matter-of-factly before she gestured to an empty seat. "Mind if I...we join you?" she asked, deciding that she didn't want the smaller girl to be alone, if that were the case. * * * * * "Hang in there, Noa!" Katie cried upon hearing the Staravia's shrill cries as undoubtedly the Glameow's teeth had found their way into the bird's wing. "Fight back with a tackle!" the orange haired girl shouted. From what she could remember Glameow were quite quick, but not overflowing with stamina. A few solid hits could end this quick, and she was sure Noa could take a chunk out of whatever Lilah sent out next.
The Staravia growled angrily before pushing herself back and taking aim at the cat once more, aiming to slam into it as hard as she possibly could. Katie did have to admit that while the manner in which Noa and Genki's evolutions took place were less than satisfactory, she was rather impressed with how much speed and strength they both seemed to have gained in the process. 'Maybe the two of them being bitter rivals won't be such a bad thing, it'll keep them both on their toes and they'll always striving to be better than the other.' Katie smiled, having found the silver lining in the problem of her two Pokemon's attitudes towards each other. She gently touched the egg again, still wondering how the other two would handle a third addition to the party, especially seeing as a baby Pokemon would need extra care and attention.

Above all else... Somewhere East of Cerulean City and nearer to Mount Moon, Travis decided it was time to stop for a break. It was roughly midmorning and the sun was getting pretty warm, not to mention the bumps and bruises from fight with Geodude were aching fairly badly. Pausing near a knee-high flat-topped boulder he checked carefully around for any snoozing Pokemon before having a seat and unslinging is pack. After setting the lumpy and bulging bundle next to him he pulled both his Pokeballs out of his pocket and tossed them, setting his Pokemon free.
Champ appeared first and as always took an appraising look about before smiling and greeting his trainer. "Machop!" the small Pokemon said happily, and climbed up to sit next to Travis while the man dug out his water bottle. The other Pokeball also flashed and the newly captured Geodude appeared, still dusting and cracked from the earlier battle. The short time in the ball had allowed it to regain consciousness but it was in no shape to fight. Roughly the size of a basketball, the greyish-brown Pokemon's face was dominated by a large pair of expressive eyes and mouth. It's two arms looked well muscled? Formed? Travis didn't know the word for it as the two looked at each other.
"Geo...dude?" the Pokemon asked, floating closer to Travis and Champ. Travis smiled and offered the battered Pokemon a plum. The Geodude took it and looked a little puzzled. "It's ok, we're all on the same side now. You put up one hell of a fight, Geodude." Travis grinned and gave the floating Pokemon a thumbs up. Champ nodded in agreement and held out a small blue hand, respect in his eyes. The Geodude hesitated for a moment then reached out with his empty hand and shook Champ's offered one, a wide smile appearing on it's pebbled face. "Geeodude! Geo-geo-Geodude!" it cried happily, nearly pulling Champ off the rock as it floated about. "Mah ha ha, ma ha ha!" he laughed, pulling the Geodude back down. Travis laughed as well, relieved and glad his Pokemon would get along.

Serenity was busy watching everyone mingling, and trying to figure out where her sister had went. She suddenly found that she was overly nervous, with everyone around and the fact that her one safe person was no longer around, or at the very least with in eye sight. It was Riza that pulled her out of her panic attack a little bit. She smiled up at the stunning girl.
"They can be yes. Please do sit down. It's nice to have someone familiar sitting near." Sere said quietly. Her eyes starated to scan the room again.
She realized that she hadn't gotten herself anything to drink or any of the snacks yet. She looked around trying to see if she could see through the mass of people where the drink counter was. She had to admit that when she did find it she was surprised to see Kasiya standing behind it. Another friendly face.
"Would you mind watching the table for me? I want to go get myself something to drink. I wont be long I promise." Sere asked Riza. "Please don't go any where. The people make me nervous."

The Tackle attack came so fast that neither Lilah nor her Glameow were prepared for it, and with a bone-crushing thud the poor feline was sent skidding across the ground. "Oh no, Glameow, are you all right?" Lilah asked worriedly, kneeling down to get a better look at the Pokemon. Shaking a little, Glameow struggled back up to her feet and growled sharply, signaling that she wasn't ready to give in just yet. "Heh, good girl, I know you're strong enough to do this! Now use your Scratch attack!"
Letting loose a shrill meow, the feline darted forward, it's tail unfurling slightly as it jumped up at the Staravia, sharp claws extended. Lilah watched with an unreadable smirk, enjoying the battle even though it was proving to not be in the favor of her Glameow. Just do what you can, Glameow, she thought. There's no way that Staravia can beat my next Pokemon, especially after being weakened by Glameow!
=-=-=-=-= Oh, this just gets more and more infuriating, Misty thought as she watched the agile Yanma zip effortlessly out of the way of the oncoming Water Pulse, and though the thought of losing put a bit of a sting in her heart she couldn't stop herself from grinning. She was having fun, and she knew that the fact that she'd enjoyed the battle with Robin would help make the loss a little more bearable.
"Use Water Pulse again!" she commanded, pointing across the pool. "It can't use Detect forever!" The least we can do is go down fighting, she thought, placing her left hand on her hip as the purple, star-shaped Pokemon shot out of the water, spinning rapidly before it sent out another pulsating blast of water. It's my duty as a Water Pokemon trainer to demonstrate just how incredible Water Pokemon truly are!

Sam examined the breeders. They seemed like every other guest. It did seem that were taking over some of the tables to allow the buyer's to examine what they were selling. One little table looked somewhat deserted, just an old man sipping a drink. He was wearing a uniform. Sam proceeded to the table, not knowing why. She took the seat directly across from him. He noticed her and set down his drink.
"Hello there young miss. How are you?"
"I'm doing well, thank you. And you?"
"Oh a proper one eh? Most of you young girls just chat away on their phones all day long, demanding this and that from me, not caring for my art. So what would you like?"
"Um, well I'm not really sure. I wasn't exactly planning on getting anything while I was here. I'm not rich or anything."
"Now you are just getting more curious! For once, someone who isn't demanding the perfect pokemon, something that is so cute, but very powerful, that will do well in contests...Hell, I even get demands for these so-called "shiny" pokemon. But I'm no magician, see, and very often I disappoint these rich people. Which is why my table was so lonely before you came. Earned myself a bad reputation, caring about the quality and character then the quantity of assets. You see, I only breed my well-behaved and friendly pokemon. They may not have the best moves, or the prettiest, but they know how to be good companions and that should be enough for anyone." He finished with a huff and sat back. Sam, a little bewildered, was silent for a moment, taking in his words. She felt Star's and Miles' pokeballs resting in the gathering of her dress. She brought them out and examined them. They were completely ordinary, yet she felt that they were special, because they were hers, her friends and companions. She understood what the man meant. Pokemon weren't tools. The man noticed her. "May I ask what you have there?"
"Oh...Would you like to meet them? They're not very big, so I don't think they would disturb anything..." The man laughed.
"Of course, of course. Go ahead and show me." Sam set the small pokeballs on the table, and pressed each middle button. Star and Miles emerged in white light on the table, confused by the sudden noise and change of scenery. The man bent forward with interest.
"This is Star," indicating the little Mudfish, "and this is Maelogan," she said indicating the pig-nosed monkey. Talking directly to her pokemon, she said, "Star, Miles, we're at the Breeder's Gala. Please behave. This is Mr..." She paused, realizing she hadn't once asked the man's name. She looked to him.
"I'm Frederic Kuljis. Spelled K-U-L-J-I-S, but pronounced 'coolius'. Don't ask, I don't understand either. It's nice to meet you two." He leaned forward to greet Star and Miles. Sam smiled as Star tried to shake his hand with her little paw. Miles watched with interest, and tried to duplicate the move. He accidently lifted Mr. Kuljis out of his seat briefly, but he didn't seem to mind. He roared with laughter, and sat back, wiping the tears of laughter from his eyes. As his chuckling subsided, a thoughtful look came over his face. "You know, you've been a real pleasure miss..."
"My name is Sam," she said hastily, extending her hand. He shook it firmly, then sat back again. He quietly stirred his drink while he thought.
"You know what? I'd like to give you something. My prized pokemon laid an egg just before I left for here. I'd like you to have it. Free of charge of course. I won't tell you what it is, but I promise you this. Some people may think they're unlucky, but I've found mine to be very loving and dead useful. I hope you'll find the same." He reached behind his chair and brought around a large sack. He winked. "It may not be very fashionable, but it does it's job. Inside is the egg. Here." He tried to hand it to her. Sam was too stunned to move. When she opened her mouth to speak, the words came tumbling out at lightning speed
"A-a-are you sure? I-I mean I'm sure someone else could handle this much better then me, I don't want to do anything wrong, you're prized pokemon?" He shook his head.
"No, now you just reaffirmed my decision. Your modesty is something alot of trainers seem to lack these days. All think they are the best there is, and can beat anyone and everyone. Go on, take it, I'm sure you'll do fine. After all, these little ones seem to be just fine." He nodded towards Star and Miles, who were eyeing the bag with interest. Sam took the sack, and looked inside. A dark blue egg with a few lighter yellow patches was inside, held in place by a little contraption. As she watched, she saw it move ever so slightly. She was amazed, and hadn't the words to describe her feelings of gratitude. She held the little sack close to her chest.
"Thank you. Thank you so very much. I promise, I will take very good care of it." She returned Star and Miles to their respective balls, and put them in the folds of her dress.
"Oh by the way, when it hatches, do a little research. I heard with that new region being found, alot of pokemon got new moves or even evolutions. Maybe that little one will too." Sam smiled sweetly.
"Of course I will." She stood up, and proceeded back to the table she had met Orion at earlier. She held the sack in her lap as she watched the guests dance, talk, and eat...She suddenly realized how hungry she was. She carefully slung the pack over her back, and proceeded to the food table. She couldn't recognize any of the food on the table, so she took something that looked good and bit into it. Mmm...delicious. As she glanced around, she didn't see Orion, but...oh that looked kind of like the girl from Professor Oak's lab. Maybe a relative, since her nametag said Rachael, not Kasiya, and there were no bruises on her face. She also saw a boy wearing wearing a rather interesting outfit with a monocle, and what seemed to be a cross-dressing Roman. Or maybe it really was a woman, she'd never been good at identifying people. She noticed that people here had hair every color of the rainbow, from bright red and electric yellow, to more subtle colors like a dark purple and slightly blue tinged black. It was certainly different from home.

Now that she knew where he was, Kasiya was having an increasingly difficult time keeping herself from watching Keegan's every move, though she did glare angrily at Riza when she smacked him in the back of the head with her purse - that was no way to treat someone, even if he was purposefully being an rude and arrogant jerk. That should be me with him, she thought sadly, another angry stab of jealous pain shooting through her heart and radiating throughout her entire body, and she found it especially odd that her palms seemed to ache as well. She drew in a shaky breath and tried to concentrate on the Shirley Temple she was making for a customer, though she couldn't be happier when she realized that there was currently no one else waiting for service and she sighed with relief and quickly ran a damp cloth over the surface of the counter even though it was already absurdly clean. Even though shew as surrounded by people, she couldn't help but feel very alone. Another person walked by the table, and she too was quite familiar to Kasiya, though she wasn't quite sure until she looked in her direction, and Kasiya offered a polite smile. It was the young girl from Oak's lab she'd met this morning... Sam, was it? Yes, Sam with the cute little Mudkip. She didn't stop to say hi or anything, and Kasiya couldn't help but wonder if her 'disguise' was doing the trick. Sighing heavily she tossed the cloth aside and reached into her pockets, pulling out two of her Pokeballs. Luckily none of the six Pokemon she had with her were overly big so it didn't actually matter which two she called out, she just wanted the company.
Her ever-faithful Marshtomp and Bayleef materialized on the ground in front of her, though Levi was quick to hop up onto a bar stool so that she could look around. Rosemary wasn't so able and with a bit of a struggle thanks to her bum shoulder Kasiya was able to hoist the Grass-type up onto the countertop, and almost immediately she began to feel better as the Bayleef's buds let off their soothing, spicy aroma. Levi and Rosemary exchanged worried glances at their trainer's broken-state, but she smiled and hugged them both reassuringly. "Don't worry guys, I'm okay. I just missed you, is all," she told them as she picked up the cloth again and began to scrub down the counter in an almost compulsive manner, though this time as she idly looked around the room she forced her gaze away from the redhead and instead found herself to be looking at a very familiar girl with purple hair, wearing a gorgeous gown. She was talking to an exceedingly tall boy with unmistakably messy hair, and she smiled, and gestured towards the two of them. "Mitsu and Kilik," she commented idly, watching the two for a moment or so. "They do look pretty cute together, don't they?" She smiled at the two of them, glad to see that they both looked happy. They sure deserve it, she thought. Especially Mitsu.
=-=-=-=-= As she listened to her boss speak, Mai was only vaguely aware of the Raichu still clinging timidly to her pantleg, though she did feel the mouse flinch as Giovanni approached them. Mai couldn't help the smirk that slowly spread across her face as the conditions of her new mission began to sink in - Giovanni wanted her to go to Sinnoh; he wanted her to be the one to establish the Rocket's presence in the northernmost region. "Yes Sir," she said, saluting. It always made her feel quite proud whenever she was specially chosen for a mission such as this one. His next statement, however, caught her completely off-guard. He'd never said anything of the sort over all the years she'd been a part of the Rocket organization, and she felt a strange mix of elation as well as sorrow even as the words resounded in her ears. Shaking it off she placed her hands behind her back, taking a moment to glance down at the Raichu as Giovanni returned to his desk. "Should I take initiative and set up a base of operations within the Sinnoh region as well, sir?" she asked, though she was sure she already knew the answer to this question before she even asked it.

"Hey, ow! Back off!" Keegan grumbled, now rubbing the back of his head where Riza's purse had made contact with it. "What'd you do that for? And what the hell have you got in there anyway, bricks?" He let his feet fall to the floor with a heavy thud and he glared at her. Who did she think she was talking to here, anyway? If she was expecting him to act the part of Prince Charming then she was sadly mistaken. Not only that but that whack to the head had left him fuming. He stood up and followed the raven-haired girl over to the other table and nodded at Serenity, forcing himself to calm down in order not to startle the timid girl. After all, she hadn't been the one to annoy him and he had no right to take it out on her. Or at least that's how he was trying to make himself think, after all.
"I'm hungry, I'm going to get some food," he grumbled, not really waiting for a response from Serenity nor Riza before he turned and made his way through the crowd, not at all bothered by the fact that he had to push a few people in order to get them to move. It didn't take long to find the snack table and he grabbed two plates, holding one in his left hand while balancing the other gracefully on his forearm. With grace that would make one think he did this often, the hungry redhead piled generous heaps of food onto each plate, though only when they were full did he spot the dessert table. "Damn," he mumbled, though his voice was muffled due to the fact that he'd stuffed several of those little mini-fancy sandwich things into his mouth in order to save room on his plate. Oh well, he'd just have to come back for it. Ignoring all the looks he was getting he pushed past a few people to try and make it back to his table, or a table, for that matter, as he was having trouble remembering where he'd left Riza at. He maneuvered around a smaller girl with curly brown hair without managing to spill a single thing on his two plates, though for a moment his gaze lingered on the dark-coloured egg in her arms. "S'cuse me," he mumbled, taking one last glance at the yellowish spots on the dark egg. I wonder what's inside... he thought as he looked around for Riza and Serenity, and upon spotting the raven-haired girl he made his way towards her. ===== The punk had been laughing raucously when the Machop fell, though his joy was only momentary as the Superpower Pokemon was returned, and the small psychic Pokemon was sent back onto the field. "Heh, what's that little runt gonna do?" the trainer sneered angrily, though within a matter of seconds he was forced to eat his words as the shimmering waves of psychic energy washed over his weakened Zubat, sending it crashing to the ground, defeated. The punk just stared at the fallen bat for a moment or two before he recalled it, muttering to himself. He still didn't know why he and his partner had incited this battle in the first place. "C'mon, let's go," he grumped at the violet-eyed girl, wedging his hands deep into the pockets of his tattered jeans before he turned on a heel and stalked away, seemingly headed in the direction of Olivine City.
"Well that was interesting..." Miharu murmured, letting her hand rest atop Sparkle's head as she watched the two trainers' silhouettes grow smaller and smaller before turning to Tyra. "Where are you heading to now?"

Brynn walked through the Rustboro streets sadly. Why was this bubbly child so sad? Brynn had just overheard some more about contests. She had overheard was that the pokemon entered must be level fifteen or higher. Brynn had found out while she was resting at a cafe. "Mmm... my favorite iced tea with a slice of orange," Brynn said as she also munched on a pastry, "Want some?" she offered to Homeskillet, "LAX!" yelled the starving Munchlax (who is never quite full) and swalled the pastry whole. "Well, okay then," Brynn exclaimed. She leaned back and relaxed while she listened to the sounds of of the calm cafe. "Well that is so unfair!" yelled an angry woman as she stormed in to the cafe. "Just sit down and listen to me," said another woman who looked annoyed, "I beat you at a contest, it happens, and besides you can't win with the lowest level pokemon you're allowed to enter." The first lady looked insulted, her jaw dropped a mile, "Are you calling me untrained? It took me forever to get my Plusle to level fifteen!" And they rambled on and on while the first lady munched very angrily on a pastry, and the second calmly sipping a coffee. 'Was she crazy? It was too warm to have coffee, unless it is iced coffee, but they don't have that here, how can she even like coffee...' Brynn's mind went on and on in a very trivial thought, and the it struck her, 'Level 15!'

After Sam was done with the little snack, she took the egg out of it's sack. She held it very close to her chest, afraid of dropping it. It was warm to the touch, and she thought she felt it twitch. As she walked back to the table, the red-headed man she had seen earlier swerved around her, nearly spilling his over-full plates of food. He muttered an apology, eyeing the egg, then headed off towards a dark-haired girl. Sam, nervous at the thought of how close she had come to catastrophe, quickly replaced the egg in the little contraption in the sack, and held that close to her chest instead. She saw Orion sitting at a different table, and quickly corrected her course. She plopped down beside him, hugging the sack. She waited for him to ask about it. He looked at her, and noticed the sack. He gazed at it curiously for a moment, then went back to staring at the ceiling. Sam, a bit disappointed about his lack of interest, waited impatiently for him to say something. But he merely continued to stare at the ceiling. She began to wonder if he was drunk, but he was only 17 and his drink appeared to be a normal Coke. She snapped her fingers in front of his face, and he slowly looked at her. His eyes were a little unfocused.
"Wha? Izit time to go already?" He slurred his words a bit. The drunk theory was seeming to be a good candidate.
"No...Orion, did you have anything to drink?" Sam was truly concerned that she would have to drag a vomiting, half-conscious Orion out of the Gala.
"Drink? No, no, I just had some of these things." He removed a little pill bottle from his coat pocket, and Sam read the label.
"Orion...these are my Xanax. Why did you take them?"
"Cause they're fun? They're so wonderful." He watched the ceiling again. Sam smacked her forehead. Not only was he abusing drugs, he was abusing her drugs. She slapped him lightly across the face. He looked at her, half squinting, as if seeing her from a distance.
"How many did you take?" Sam said, praying he hadn't overdosed. As far as she knew, she had never reacted like this to her meds. Then again, Xanax was pretty powerful, who knew what it could do?
"I dunno...2? Yup, I think 2." Sam stared at him in horror. She only ever took half a pill! You could have up to one whole pill, and he had taken double that! She was enraged. She slapped him again, this time full force. He had a delayed reaction, then waited for a moment before saying, "Ow, why you do that?" Sam breathed deeply, trying to contain her anger. She hadn't hit anyone in anger since she was little, but she felt this deserved it.
"You bas-You took my pills, and nearly overdosed! What were you thinking?!" She stalked off, slinging the sack over her back, and headed for the bathrooms. Orion was left sitting there, dumbfounded. Sam entered the bathroom, and grimly headed to one of the sinks. She removed the cap from the orange pill bottle, and poured all the little white scored pills into the sink. She turned on the water, and watched them quickly dissolve. Satisfied, she threw the bottle away. 'In retrospect, that wasn't the smartest thing to do. They are my prescription...' She leaned against one of the tile walls, making sure she didn't crush her egg. She took out Star's pokeball and released her. She picked her up, and hugged her like a teddy bear. Star didn't appreciate having the life squeezed out of her, and protested loudly until she felt Sam's hand on her fin, lightly stroking it. It calmed her down, enough to realize Sam was upset. Star obediently allowed herself to be Sam's pillow to squeeze and complain to. Sam didn't even know why she was so upset, but she came close to crying a few times, so she figured something was wrong. She hated not being in tune with her own feelings. She stood there in the bathroom a long time, earning herself several looks from some the guests. When she finally returned to the main room, Orion was no longer there.

Riza only narrowed her eyes as the red head as he turned his back and walked away, and she shook her head. "Case and point," she mumbled, thinking back to her previous statement of how stupid males could be. She sighed and looked back to Serenity before taking a seat. "Of course, I don't mind at all," she said, nodding. "Would you mind grabbing a 7-Up for me, please?" she asked, sliding a few coins across the table towards Serenity before following her gaze towards the drinks table. The girl running it looked very familiar, but Riza couldn't quite put a name to her face, though she did recognize the Bayleef and Marshtomp.
Even though Riza was generally a loner by nature it did feel very strange to be sitting at a table alone, and dressed to kill, at that. She did smile and wave politely to most of the boys who noticed her, and she decided to pass the time by playing the 'who's dressed worst' game. It didn't last very long though as a sudden commotion rose up from nearby, and Riza looked up in time to see a girl slap some guy across the face, and not gently, either. Then she ran off towards the bathroom, clearly upset, and Riza couldn't help but wonder what had happened. She looked up at Keegan as he'd made his way back to the table with enough food to feed a family of four for a day but didn't say anything, and instead just watched him eat, occasionally looking around to see if the girl had come back out yet. Finally she stood up and tucked her purse under her arm before gently tapping Keegan on the shoulder. "I think I'm going to use the restroom, keep watching the table for us, all right?" she asked. "Oh...and I'm sorry for hitting you before. Just keep your dirty shoes off the table, 'kay?" Smiling a bit she then headed off towards the bathroom, though by the time she'd made it there the girl had come back out into the main hall. Taking a deep breath, as she still wasn't so good at this whole people thing, she made her way over to her. "Hey, I saw what happened earlier....are you alright?" she asked, brushing a few wrinkles out of the skirt of her deep red dress. * * * * * "Ugh, no, stay down, would you?" Katie grumbled as the Glameow got back up, though it was really starting to look tired now. Lilah didn't seem to mind that she was currently in a losing position and once again set the cat on the attack. "Take it and fight back with wing attack again," Katie called out. Noa was still looking pretty peppy to her, and she still had a fully energized Genki waiting his turn, as well.
The Staravia clamped her beak shut as the claws found their way into her body, and with a loud caw she thrust both her wings forward, aiming to take the glameow out of the fight for good. 'Atta girl, Noa, show 'em who's boss,' Katie thought with a confident smile.

Sam looked up at the speaker. It was the dark-haired girl from earlier, who had been with the red-haired man. She sighed.
"Yeah, yeah I'm fine. I just had an...issue with my friend. Being an idiot." She laughed coldly. She wasn't trying to be rude or anti-social, but she was used to dealing with problems on her own. It was very different for someone else, a stranger at that, to show concern for her. Her containment technique must not have been working very well. "Thanks for asking. I'm Sam." She sat down at a table, suddenly exhausted, and motioned to the chair across from her. "Would you like to sit down, or would you like to get back to your red-headed friend? I'm sure he's going to be loads more fun then I am."
