Exactly. This is the point I tried to explain to Ertai. If you give people weeks to fight one another and play like dicks, they're going to pour over their options and dodge every single blow. Then it doesn't become a fight, it becomes trying to block someone in to not having an option, a checkmate... except that its never done like a real checkmate. It's always done by moving all the pieces simultaneously, instead of building up to the moment.
Like, I fire bullets everywhere and use my anti teleporter and ready my sword and reload and shoot again and... etc etc.
---
To be absolutely honest, I'm pretty concerned about the amount of s**t KB got in with. I'm relying on the Judges saying "This guy is being a douche, let's dock him points." which is why I advise from a competitive standpoint the whole "have fun" thing. If you just play to use your abilities in a broken way you might win the match IC, but I bet you'll lose it OOC.

Which is why I like you Hael, but I disagree with you completely.
Going out to win is boring, I get enough competition in real life; I don't need it in my escape.

Uhh...Lollipip Fond and Anvilgenotics. It looks like I'm the friendly Judge Representative assigned to your case. Please be sure to PM me any pertinent information other than what you wrote in your official claim in the Help thread so I can make an accurate and informed judge call for your specific needs.

I need competition in everything I do. Even my relaxation. I find people associate stress with it too quickly, personally it is enjoyable. Sure, you'll get some cogs tossed in the mix every now and again, but I can earnestly say I've enjoyed my fights with the majority of the people over the years I've gone against in these kinda shindigs, in earnest or for sheer hilarity.
In short, if I lose to a guy and we both tried our best and whooped eachother's asses, I can't help but go "time well spent."
If I win against a guy who stabbed himself in the throat, who then went "this is a tournament roleplay and I'm enjoying myself," I call him a f*****t and Photoshop some giant image related to the fight to brag, because he deserves humiliation.
Good hearted fun and competition can go hand in hand.
...
...
BELIEVE I- ******** hand signs are getting to me now.

Hael: While its enjoyable mostly, you do get a** hats.
I'm not gonna go on because people will think I am calling them out.
You just get a** hats.

Yeah. You do get a** hats. But I enjoy beating them too.
And we're all a** hats in our given time. Even the best of 'em, given enough exposure.
But let's be honest, it'd be boring if there were 0 of them. I don't think I've ever had more jokes at a roleplayer's expense than Ertai, it'd been a damn shame if I never encountered him for example.

My character is competitive (obviously), but I myself try not to be.
I enjoy some aspects of it being competitive, because something where you're pitted head to head with another person WILL be competitive in some form, no matter how you slice it, but I don't require or use the competitive aspect as a means to decide whether or not my character uses X attack or dodges Y attack.

I'm not the same type of person.
If someone is an asshat and dodges everything and is just a total ******** tool the whole time, and then I ******** beat the s**t out of them cry home to judges like a b***h I get bored very very very quickly.
Again, before I start calling people in this tournament out, I am going to stop.
