"Exactly," Lori said with a little laugh, "Yes. That's all we have to go on unless we meet her. Or them."
Later in the week, Lori was just getting Rosie all done up for a run. He was already in workout clothes himself, but Rosie needed her harness and he had to carry his mp3 player and their water bottles, not to mention emergency poo bags...

There was a knock at the door. Luca had parked in front of Lori's place and was standing outside his door with an armful of chocolates. Rather, one large box and three smaller boxes. He had remembered how much Lori enjoyed sweets and had decided to surprise him.

Lori opened the front door with some forward motion and then stopped short. His surprise was clear by the look on his face, but it resolved quickly.
"Hey, Luca!" What in the hell was all that? Chocolate?
Rosie wagged her tail and whuffled Luca's pants.

"I brought presents," Luca announced. His eyes moved up and down Lori. Was he going on a run? "I'll set these down somewhere," he said, reaching with his free hand to pet Rosie.

Rosie wagged even harder as she was pet and Lori stepped back inside and held the door open for Luca. "Come on in! I was just going to go on a run."

Luca walked inside, setting the chocolate down on the table. "Were you? Do you want me to co me along?"

"Do you run?" Lori asked, "Or... jog?" Wood elves were known for being fast and spry, but this one worked in a library and had for quite some time. "We could stay in if you'd rather."
Unfortunately Lori was naturally sort of slim. He'd had to work hard to get the muscles he had.

"I run," Luca said. Rarely, but he could! "Nah, Rosie needs her exercise! Don't you Rosie? Lets go." He smiled at Lori. "I'll jog with you."

Lori nodded and smiled. Cool. The ex would go to the gym with him but never ran. He looked down to Rosie and said "C'mon."
Out the front door they went, walking at first, and then when Luca was just beside him Lori began to jog and Rosie to barely trot to keep up.
"So how've you been? Anything new?"

Luca matched Lori's pace. "Good," he said. "I got one of those underwater frogs at home now, he's got a fish tank to himself." He smiled. "Its more like a goldfish I guess, just swims around eats food. How about you? Anything exciting going on at work?"

"The ones that scream at night?" Lori asked. The little flat ones you got at the pet store... "That's cute, though. I'm glad you have a little buddy. Does he have a name?"
"Uh. Well, we're starting to train Maia to be a fae ambassador."

"They scream at night?" Luca asked, grinning. "No name yet, I only got him a few days ago."
"Really? She must be enjoying that." Luca smiled. "Are you still teaching her?"

"I heard they do. Maybe you got lucky," Lori said with a grin, "Yup! We have to go over all of the fae classifications. I'm step one. It's pretty exciting for me, I hope she's not too overwhelmed. It's a lot at first."
