Last I heard, Freya left control of it to the Amatruse family.

So is it under heavy Imperial Occupation?

Hrm ... you'll have to ask Nelo about that one, then.

I suppose I'll have to go hunting for Nelo's posts on the subject, since he's not on.

I think we'd better start moving the characters toward a climax. Pretty soon this first installment should be nearly over, and we'll be heading into new territory. Perhaps we should consider having the climactic battle be the first engagement of a much broader galactic war.

Soon the Great Perlemian War shall begin. mrgreen

Regarding Light Shields, Cale's had one since Shards of the Force, maybe Visions of War.
Plus, Mandalore the Immortal had one.

They're allowed because its a logical piece of technology that should exist in an era of blasters and lightsabers.
They're even in the OGG.

somehow i totally missed this. how are they logical? a disk shaped shield is impossible to achieve.

Not entirely.
Durge had something like that in the Clone Wars.
But the Light shields I use usually cover just one direction, usually the direction you're facing.
In Legacy though they've become full body.
Its on page five of the OGG. And I could have sword Selk had one at one point.

Another thing that's been on me mind, and have been meaning to ask: of course, one would assume that Ferno was pretty thorough in covering his tracks. Still, would there be any remaining forensic evidence he might have left behind after icing Veron?

he had a lightsaber at one point... and an ysalimari... can't remember using a light shield.

but the only thing close to an energy shield like that is what the gungans used, which had the field projected from the center (which makes sense, altho it means that part is vulnerable). full body shields have been around for a while, but something that is projected from the arm alone and covers only that is not quite feasible... and the clone wars cartoons are hardly canon.

Oh now someone complains about the idea.
You do realize that starship shields cover only one direction of a ship, correct?

Not really. The soup is pretty much untracable by medical standards, which is how Veron was killed. A little help from the force to stop his heart naturally also added a boost (its to help calm down targets, so they don't fight as much, but can be used to kill).

Short of fibers from his cloak, which is made of commonplace materials, you wouldn't have any evidence.

If you want to have Ferno reveal himself, you're going to have to bait him in a double trap. He will give out an honorable statement before someone dies to at least put them at peace. Or at least, put ferno at peace. If you could use yourself to look like you were about to be killed by the spectre, you could draw out a confession that way. But you'll have to trick him into it...
