I'm attempting to saw my fingernail in half with my teeth, just to see how it'll regrow. I think I need a better instrument to do it with, though....

This might sound like a weird thing to be bothered about, but...we have three TVs, two of which are big-screen and I think one is HD. Now, growing up affluent, I can see why three would be considered "necessary" (one for the treadmill room and two for when the parents and kids want to watch different things, which is most of the time), but...my parents were happy with normal TVs for what, twenty years? Why do we need big-screen or high-def? I just don't see how it's worth spending a few hundred dollars extra on something that's better, but not much better, and not better in a way that's needed (and to be honest, I can't think of any situation in which either "improvement" would significantly improve anything).
I don't know...I mean, I like being rich and all, despite the fact that having grown up in this environment means I'm going to have a very hard time as a dirt-poor college student...and some things are relatively necessary, at least to someone who is so used to a materialistically-comfortable lifestyle. But even to me, a lot of things are just blatantly over-the-top, and my parents indulged in one of those things, and it bothers me somehow. :/

My family is far from affluent. How my mom can afford the flat screen, two fake fireplaces, a trip to PA, new living room set, and new bedroom set is still a mystery to me.

We have three TVs and four computers, but we're far from rich. We've just got a little more spending money now that my parents are both working instead of just my dad =3

I'm two seconds away from getting in the middle of my agruing parents and telling my mom to shut the ******** up for once and her life and go to couple's therapy so I don't have to deal with this s**t anymore.

If you do, video tape it. It would be horrific, yet oh so youtube worthy.
*Shot*
Subtle hints are best, I believe.

Not when dealing with someone doped up on morphine 24/7 and whatever she ends up taking from the old woman she takes care of.
