No, but I happen to be VERY lazy....I also think I have ADD despite my parent's constant denials to let me go get tested.
ADD Doesnt matter... at all... I was diagnosed with ADHD, same thing but it means your hyper as well, ADD and ADHD are just a load of s**t for kids acting differnetly than parents want to handle, pretty much everyone gets diagnosed with it these days...
*cough* *cough* Why don't we listen to the one in school shall we? (At least the one who is presently taking psychology and will be a nurse soon enough)
ADD and ADHD are a big deal. It is true that people are being over-diagnosed with it when they OBVIOUSLY don't have it. However, what you must realize is this: A parent who is screwed up wants there child to have an excuse for the disobedience and hard time they are having with it. Therefore, the parents goes from doctor to doctor, all of whom say there is nothing wrong with the child, until finally the parents comes to a stupid doctor who will proscribe whatever they want for whatever concoction of a disease they want.
Also, very few medications actually do a thing. I have ADD... and there is a stupid difference between ADD and ADHD, I agree. The Edison gene may have made me not do as well in high school but over all I am smarter then most of the people I work with (because of it).
ADD is simply enough an inability to focus the same way other people do. ADD means you have a hundred eyes pointed in a hundred directions at once.
OR
ADD can also mean that you have a hundred eyes all focused on one thing, which allows you to hyper focus (it also allows you to hyper focus on little things, making you easily distracted.
If you are a clever child, you will find a way around this so-called disability. If you are a genius child, you will find a way of using ADD to your advantage.
Oh and on a side note… the reason ADD is the one being over-diagnosed is because right now it is fashionable to have ADD. Yes, there are fashionable diseases. When we were young, the fashionable disease was leukemia… anyone remember when nearly everyone you knew either had it or thought they had it?
