"Yeah, it is too bad," Cody replied. "Ike is... A work in progress... We are working with him so that he and Maddy can get along again," he tried to make that point as clear as possible. "The two are still having problems but are getting better."

Sammy nodded, but strangely shook her head at the same time. "They should really get along... I mean, neither did anything all that bad..." she was going to add something, but decided not to. She had, afterall, almost beaten Mr. Ike up. She straightened out her legs, wincing as he scrapes stretched a bit too much. Darn her for being so clumsy.

Sammy looked at Mr. Cody as if he was a truly strange person. ".... Of course! I don't have anywhere else I wanna be! ^^... Well, I'll visit my family every once in awhile, but I don't plan on leaving." She chimed, placing her hands behind her head. "Why?"

Cody turned bright red but got up the nerve to ask her, "Well... Maybe if you are gonna stick around, you would want to try the realtionship thing; with me, I mean. I mean, if you don't want to, that's cool, but I just thought... Ya know... Since we're both here and don't plan on going anywhere... Will you go out with me?"

"We work together. Discussion over," Sammy sighed, crawling under the couch. She really hated disappointing people, but she figured it would be more than awkward. Her arms stretched out infront of her as she yawned a bit.

Maddy walked in just in time to hear that part of the conversation. "Uhmmm... I'ma just walk over... here?" She walked down a random corridor.

He turned to her and replied, "Sammy, you have to realize that Aqua isn't a job. It isn't something you voulenteer for or get paid for. We're just a bunch of crazy friends who hang out together and save the world every once and a while," Cody smiled. He couldn't believe he had said that last part, though he swore he had heard it somewhere before. "You gotta understand that no matter what, I'm falling in love with you and nothing can change that. I really hope you understand that."

"People who love me die." Sammy murmured, almost under her breath. She sighed as she stuck her head in her arms. No matter what, she wouldn't let that side of her out again. She wasn't a spoiled, scared damsel in distress anymore. Her face still looked strong, but contorted as she fought back her memories. No emotional crap was coming out here.

"Well, I'm willing to take that risk," Cody tried to convince her. "I really want to be with you. More than anything." Aipom sat on Cody's shoulders, waiting for something positive to happen. He frowned, sensing Cody was sad, but neither were ready to give up.

Mai sighed. She couldn't believe this came up again. Mai walked over to Sammy and lightly slapped her. It wasn't hard enough to hurt but it got the message through. "Sammy you are a very big idiot! First you try to keep all these emotions looked up which isn't good for you, and second not everyone that loves you dies! I love you and I'm alive! You are my best friend and only true friend so please don't be like this!" Mai was now pleading.

Maddy randomly appeared in a flash of purple. "Ok! Listen here! Sammy, if you wanna be the strong girl you're trying to be, then you gotta fight whatever's holding you back." She jumped up onto the ceiling, still standing, so if anyone walked by her head would easily be level with theirs. "You're not the only one who's had their share of bad memories. I got things in me past that I've never told anyone as well, but I don't let them hold me back. You gotta go for it!"

"You're really dumb, then," Sammy chuckled, shaking her head. She came out from under the couch, her eyes sparkling with happiness. The only reason she was happy was because she had avoided another emotional break down. "Sorry, Mr. Cody, but I'm not gonna let you die, and that's a promise!" She held up a thumbs-up sign, trying to make him feel not-so-bad. She had, still, not accepted the going out offer. It was too dangerous.

Maddy placed her hands on her hips. "I got all of Team Shadow going after me and still Ginji is taking that risk! I think..." She shook her head. "If they wanted to get through to me... Then he's the easy target. But the fact that he's willing to take that risk... It... It just makes me feel like maybe I'm special..." Her look turned into that of determination. "You shouldn't let chances like this pass you by."
