LOCATION: Riku's room, MMHQ

Riku finally woke up and checked the time. Might as well head over there, he thought to himself, as he got up and walked towards the door. He paused, and looked down at his dresser. The amulet sat there, seeming to stare up at him. He reached down and picked it up, then fastened it around his neck. He then headed out the door.

((OOC: I'm making it pretty obvious here, huh Korie? It doesn't take a veteran mercenary to see that Larry is drugged out of his a**, now does it xd ?))

The villager turned around and watched Korie force her way through the crowd. He flashed a look toward one of the other bar folk and passed the drink to another villager. The drink was passed from villager to villager until it reached Larry who promptly missed his mouth and poured it all over his face and pants.

Larry felt like he was having the time of his life! Colors and sounds were more vibrant and everyone around him was just sooo, sooo niiice. Why on Earth would he ever want to get out of this pub? In fact, now that he thought of it, he wondered why he had never visited this pub before.

After tripping off the bar stool and stumbling out, he felt someone tapping him and trying to get his attention. Looking up he saw the girl he had tried to hit on earlier, that Kary or whatever her name was, trying to get his attention. "Hey, beautiful." he slurred, obviously not in his right mind "We're having a party, come on over and have a cold one. Or just a room temperature one. Must be an Irish pub."

He tried to get back to his feet but succeeded only in tripping back the opposite way and hitting his head on the bar stool. Larry fell to the floor of the bar, unconscious. While he groaned and grumbled, the same villager re-approached Korie with a fresh glass of beer. This time with a more overt and troubling look in his eyes, the berobed man asked Korie "Are you sure you don't want to celebrate?"

((Sorry for the delay, I have been busy.))

Sokato strolled back to the Inn, to hide out before they make him clean up the mess that the dragons made. He didn't quite feel like being out any longer than he had to.
Sokato was almost there, he turned the corner and looked in awe at the current state of the in. The dragon had landed on the inn completely destroying it.

"Yea, that is great. Well, I hope the barkeep is okay." Sadly, the barkeep is buried under the rubble.
Sokato sighed and walked up to the dragon to view it up close. He noted the strange black stone outcropping from its forehead. The sword was lodged just above that.
"That does not look natural. I am going to conduct some research on that."
He proceeded to take his sword from the dragons skull, and to cut out the stone.

The android stared vacantly at Spider while he rambled on.
"Yea, Beaches and Doc Loki. Thats fine, I think. Your ID card will be here momentarily."
A few seconds later, a guard walked in with the new key card. The guard handed it to the android, and the android then handed it to Spider.

"This will let you into your dorm. You can use it at vending machines and in the cafiteria. Also keep it on you at all times here at HQ."
The android stood up.
"You will be assigned a mission soon, but for now get yourself situated first. It was a pleasure meeting you, and remember, I am watching you. Always."

Spider bowed, took the cards, and grinned.
"Well, we will get used to you watching all The times. So, basically, unless you sell tapes, we are ok with it. Just one last question.... do you assign myself any Dorm, squad or something?jusrt to be sure, because I kind of saw that the dorms were arranged by squad..."

Vilinus, estland.
Bjorn sat in front of his computer, and held the Square which the postman had just brought. It had come by airmail from some uzbek city, but it did not really matter. The square was a little flash-memory card stuffed to the brim with Passwords, IP-Numbers, bits of prepayed time on the big botnets.... phantastic.
He had won the card as the first price in a contest of skill, and he kind of had a suspicion whom he won it from. A worker of kavinsky. Mainly because a bvulk of data singlehandidly dealt with that giant.
Ge pondered for a miunute, and then slowly shook his head. he would not pass that opportunity. Like all of the baltic citizens, he knew that the oligarchs took mmatters in his own hands. And once youz had a nickname like that, there were certain expectations...

(( Yes, yes, I see that very clearly. lol ))

Korie thought to herself, Looks like I spoke too soon, as she watched with utter shock and horror as Larry poured the liquor all over himself and failed to even stand. Then he was knocked out cold. Figures. She crouched down, worried, annoyed, and scared all at the same time. Her nose wasn't getting any more desensitized to the smell of beer, either. Where was that sickening odor coming from, anyway?

Korie tried to pull him upright, only halfway succeeding as he slumped against the counter. She was getting one of his arms over her shoulder when the shady man came up to her again. Her eyes narrowed. This guy was really, really freaking her out. And not just because he was one of the shadiest characters here, there was just a very persistent, menacing air about him. "No thanks, I don't want to end up like my friend here," she growled. Korie tried to pull Larry up, but couldn't. Damn, he was heavy!

As Korie struggled with Larry, she kept her guard up, watching the cloaked man as she finally managed to get him standing, mostly leaning over her. She groaned as she tried to shift his weight, but almost ended up dropping him. How were they going to get out of this if she was going to have to drag him?

The Kavinsky Headquaters lay in the dead of night, only the management center was in full action. A video conference was set into motion, with some managers from every continent.
"I want to call all members of the upper management to...."
The screens started to flicker.... before anybody could jump up, the picture had changed. now, the sceens all around the world the screens showed a video.
(ooc: http://de.youtube.com/watch?v=GWAGvFGl6T8 the video I am talking about)
The chairman furrowed his brow, and bowed towards the microphone.
"Is this one bad joke? Who is responsible for this? I thought the system was secure..."
Hundreds of hands bent down on the keyboards, only to find that mice and keyboard drivers of their entire systems had been disabled.
Slowly, the video changed, and went towards a montage. On the right sight was a picture known to most of the men, the Vitruvian Man, by Leonardo da Vinci. But on the left side, it looked like someone had plastered a humanoid borg image. Suddenly, the Borg image opened its mouth, and spoke with the cheap computer generated accent.
"Good evening, Gentlemen. I happened to stumble across certain more or less interesting fiscal and military operations of your great company. Now, I happen to disagree for once that any multinational company should posess military operations outside of their own country. So, I am in the sad position of having to ask you to stop all covert operations in the countries of Brazil, Ireland, Jugoslavia, Nepal, Denmark and Japan at once. If you happen to pay my wishes the neccesary respect, and recall all covert operations within the next five hours, It will not be your damage. If you happen to disagree, I will wipe the conglomerate called kavinsky off the fiscal and political maps, and feed it to whoever asks and to whoever wants, and if you do not believe my words, I will sink the yacht of Mister Preskew, chairmen of research and devellopment, which is currently cruising in the pacific, into a wreck in the sea, just to make sure my intentions are understood. After that, there will be no more warning shots.
Rest assured, that i would prefer a very violenceless respectfull coexistance, but as it goes, you gravely endanger my work.
OOh, and if you might ask yourself how you shall adress me...
Call me Anon. "
Suddenly, almost as fast as it had never happened, the pictures and the computers went back to normal. Worried faces looked into each other. Then, they looked at the window labeled "Hon.Dipl.Inf A.Preskew", who swallowed hard.

(ooc: I have my plan of war ready. get whatever security measures you want, and describe their counters. if anybody bothers to check, the message came from an open wireless lan in a minor kavinsky base in Uzbekistan. I just get terribly bored, and tech is not officially dead yet. )

"Don't bother with him, my dear." the man said "My friends will take him where he needs to go." On cue to these words seemingly, two villagers got up from their bar stools. One shoved Korie into a third villager, a fat man (or woman, the way they were dressed it was hard to tell), while the other villager caught Larry by the arm before he hit the ground.

The villager tossed Larry over his shoulder and carried him through the crowd. As he walked, the crowd parted to let him by and quickly gelled back together to surround Korie. In no time at all, Larry was out the door and Korie now stood in the center of a circle, as if everything had been rehearsed like the script of a broadway musical.

The only other person inside the circle of villagers was the still-persistant robed man. The expression in his eyes had turned from a disquieting one to a frustrated one and his hands tightened on the mug. "Want to join your friend, dearest, have a drink." he said extending it to Korie "Otherwise, we shall send you someplace else."

(( This situation you have put me in has now gotten me to put out my more theatrical events...I'm sorry lol ))

Before Korie could take one step, she was shoved aside and Larry was out of her grip. She watched him get carried away and the villagers surround her. In a matter of seconds, she was placed in the worst situation possible. Surrounded, outnumbered, and her options were severely limited. She backed up to the bar counter, where her hands found contact with a bar stool. Her fingers curled around the edge of it, so tightly that it hurt. For a moment she contemplated hitting him over the head with it, but she knew even if she got this guy down, she couldn't fight the whole mob off with a wooden stool. Korie had to find Larry, and quickly. But she couldn't get there drugged senseless, what good would that do? She scanned the room, her mind working quickly as the villagers clustered closer. Barrels upon barrels of beer, wooden furniture...And all she had were her various gadget...Yes, that was it! It was a long shot, but she didn't have much to lose, her life was already on the line.

A smirk played on her lips as she relaxed her deathgrip on the stool and she stood in a more relaxed position. "Yes, I want to join my friend," and the man again pushed the drink to her, but she slapped it away, adding, "But I'm gonna take a little detour." And she hopped over the counter and ran down the narrow space to the other end, taking a can of oil from her belt in the process. She started squirting out a trail of the slippery substance behind her, and she went towards a door near the back, which, of course, was locked. Growling at the deterrence, she rammed her shoulder against the door with as much force as she could muster, watching the villagers coming fast. With a crash, the door fell from its hinges and she quickly dashed into a storage room, still leaving her oily trail. She knocked down a bunch of barrels and bottles, liquor spilling everywhere and splattering onto her clothes in her haste. The back door was also locked, and she lost precious time as she once again rammed it down.

Korie sprinted outside, pulling a torch from her belt as she emptied out the can. She turned as the villagers appeared in the doorway and in a second the torch was ignited, flickering a fierce blue flame and she threw both the torch and can into the puddle of oil near her feet and ran as a large explosive flame ignited and exploded, traveling to the pub and setting it to flame as well. A thunderous sound was made as it was blown to smithereens and she dove to the ground, covering her head. Then she quickly got up when most of the debris had stopped falling from the sky, forcing herself not to look back to where the villagers had once stood, and started to run as fast as she could (which you had to admit was pretty damn fast) around the burning building and to the area where she saw Larry disappear.

"That drunken idiot better regain his senses soon...Or who knows what could happen to him before I get there!"
(( I told you. lol I hope it wasn't too much. =3 ))

((OOC: Damn! Korie's got more bang in her utility belt than Larry's got in his whole area below the belt. And that's including all the pockets when he's wearing cargo pants. No need to be sorry, I was hoping you'd pull something like that out of your sleeve.))

Larry was still knocked cold from all of the sweet, sweet nectar he had just consumed. For a brief moment, he retained enough of his consciousness to know that he was being carried at a fast pace by several people. But that was short-lived and he drifted back into his stupor.

"Curses!! Again. Again!" one of the villagers cried between huffs and puffs "Every time someone is attracted to town, a hole somehow manages to punch into the magic!" They hauled Larry into a structure disguised as a tobacco shed and tossed him into a cage against the wall.

Meanwhile, outside, the rest of the small amount of tavern populace that managed to jump clear of the blast set out to find Korie and send her to the "other" place. They went back to their homes, all a stone's throw in different directions, and painted the outer rims of their eyes black. A finishing touch of black fireplace ashes on their faces and obsidian spears completed their hunting garb.

Portal room, MMHQ

Joel and Outai entered the portal room to find that Riku and Shadow were already waiting. "All right," he declared, rubbing his hands together. "Everyone's here. There's a plane waiting at the airport. It's small enough to stay under the radar, so we might get there undetected."

He looked around the group one more time. "Try to be inconspicuous," he said. Adjusting the bag on his shoulders, he stepped through the portal.

Library, MMHQ

Zach felt a shadow fall across him. With an odd cross between a muscle spasm and a four-limbed leap, he wound up across the aisle and standing. For a moment he stared wildly at Cyrith. Then sense kicked in and he realized that the man was not trying to kill him and instead was giving him a sad, what-drugs-are-YOU-on kind of look. Zach took a breath and drew out his text display device. He typed very fast, even in his nervous state.

Cyrith watched as the man typed onto something, then blinked as he saw a message. Reading it, he kinda figured out what was wrong with the man. "Yeah, I'm a merc. Do you know what the book was called, where you found it, and what it released? It would help out for knowing what to do." Cyrith was getting confused. The octarine color was getting brighter, and seemed to come from behind him, but he couldn't hear anything out of place.

Riku nodded as Joel entered the room, then followed him through the portal. He almost immediately stepped out onto the tarmac of the airport, where a small jet waited. A private jet was the only way they could slip in without raising suspicion; flying in on a C-130 would raise concerns, and possibly tip off Kavinsky's forces, who were most certainly monitoring the area around the temple.
PostPosted: Sun Sep 21, 2008 2:38 pm

Shadow followed the other 2 into the portal. To be discrete, he made his weapons and Guardiana invisible to those who hadn't yet seen her. This was a simple meditation task for him. He came out on the tarmac with the others and waited to board the private jet. He wasn't worried about the room, and no one said anything about Guardiana yet.

He paused a moment as he felt the strange presence from before. What is that? There is nothing here, so why does it feel like I'm being watched. Its as though only I am being watched. 'Do you feel that, Guardiana? That presence? I felt it earlier too, when I was with Outai, the woman that is coming along with us.' It diminished as fast as it appeared, as though it knew it was caught, or sensed.

[[In case anyone didn't read that first post, or remember it, the second paragraph is a developing story for my RPC. There will be further inserts, but they are minor for now.]]

heart You found my heart and rebuilt it from dust... heart

Outai stepped through the portal, slightly amazed at it. She'd never seen one before, and had not seen many aircraft before, so it was new to her. Then again, she had just awakened from a very long slumber, so everything was new, and she was adjusting to it. On the other side of the portal was a small (though in her eyes it was large) aircraft.
"Well, this is new. What is that, Outai?"
"It's an aircraft. It will take us to Nepal."
"We can fly you know."
"Of course I know, however we want to stay inconspicuous."
"I see. Onward and upward!"
"Good kitty."
heart ...and now let me return the favor for you. heart
