Hayate nodded "Your sort of right. When something dies the normal proceedure is they move on to the afterlife. But sometimes if the spirit has unfinished business or strong emotions that are attached to this world, they stay behind eventually turning into fiends" he explained.
Felina closed her eyes as Itaka kicked the creature "Please don't do that. It may be a fiend but it still has the right to rest in peace. She kept her eyes closed until she had passed the sight
Satoshi glanced over at Zadina "You shouldn't look away like that. If you do that in battle, you'll be in trouble"

Itaka flinched and sighed "Sorry about that Felina" he said walking on "The ninja might have only been attacked by fiends recently old man"
Zadina glanced up at Satoshi "I'm sorry Satoshi...but its not a nice thing to look at..."
Oassu glanced at Hayate and Seph "Really? Man thats horrible...so what if a fiend spirit meets someone it knew when alive?"
Mari followed Hebal poking her sword at various coloured crystals "What is this place? and what are these pretty stones" she asked picking one up.

Seph scratched her chin and eventually shrugged "I dunno. I havent experienced anything like that. Perhaps it doesnt make any difference" she glanced over at Hayate hoping he knew the answer.
Alpha briefly examined the coeurl "I guess we have no idea how long the fiends have been like this. It could have been recently that they have mutated like that. But we shall soon find out" he added as the cave began to get wider.
Hebal turned around taking the stones out of Mari's hands and put them back onto the ground "This is where the ninja have been hiding out. And those crystal things are called nethicite. Its really dangerous stuff and releases a huge amount of energy when burned. Also produces nasty side affects on viera so avoid using fire attacks" she explained without pausing for a breath.

Hayate shook his head at Seph "It totally depends on the spirit. The longer it stays in this world the less likely it it to be sane. The sane ones would most likely try to make contact with that person or ask them to do a task. But if they had waited around a long time they would just attack you blindly regardless of who you are"
Felina frowned "I wonder if the nethicite also has an effect on those kind of spirits"
Satoshi sighed "That spirit thing is just a load of rubbish. Summoners summon animals and that it" she waved her hand dismissively.

Oassu sighed "Thats a real shame...though I'd like to meet a spirit that was sane though."
Itaka frowned "Satoshi don't be so harsh to condemn them remember that Ulqiuorra summoned much more than just animals besides everyones entitled to their own view"
Zadina nodded and tugged on Felina's arm "I wouldn't think the spirits would be effected by nethicite after all it's only a physical affliction not a spiritual one, look at Itaka he hasn't changed emotionally since his infection."
Itaka raised an eyebrow "So I'm an example now?"
Mari blinked surprised at the speedy explanation. "Ok you'll be pleased to know I have no fire attacks but how come it affects you Viera?"

"Most the sane spirits depart. And don't feel bad Itaka, he is using you as a good example." Seph patted Itaka on the shoulder. "I wonder if she ever did find that summon in the end." she added thinking back.
Alpha scratched his neck "She probably did but why not ask her next time you see her. Shes travelling around too so no doubt we'll see her again one day"
Hebal looked around once they had reached the place roughly where they got to the other day "The nethicite effects the mist. The mist is a special form of energy that is in everything" she answered briefly

Satoshi glared at Itaka "You're right everyone is entitled to their own view which is why I am expressing mine" she snapped.
Felina sighed "No need to argue and its good that this place won't effect the spirits in anyway. It would be nice to see Ulquiorra again" she turned around the corner to a fork in the path "Which way do we go?"
Hayate glanced over at the two paths "We need to go to the one on the right. The one of the left goes back to the airship"

A roar rocked through the cave accompanied by a breath of mist just like before.
Itaka grinned at Seph and nodded "She was tough of course she did" he turned and squinted through the yellow mist "Not today" he said patting his armoured arm.
Oassu waved some of the smoke away "Thats what we were looking for before right?" he coughed.
Mari adopted a fighting stance as the mist rocked the cave "Thats mist?...that sounds like a fierce monster down there..."

Alpha rubbed his eyes at what appeared to be a yellow fog filled his eyes "Was it always this bad to see?"
Seph shook her head "It wasn't like this before, which means there is something big up ahead and we are getting closer" she answered optimistically.
Hebal sniffed the air around her "The mist is thicker than it was before. The others are probably heading to where the mist is at it's thickest" she continued forward at a slower pace, "Theres no huge fiend directly in front of us if that makes you feel better"

Hayate nodded "I bet she got it in no time" he looked around at the mist "I don't like the feeling this mist produces. It makes me feel like something sinister is about to happen" he frowned.
Felina gently pushed Cid back down into her bag, who had stuck his head out to see what the fuss was about. "It makes me feel a little light headed" she admitted "But I'll be ok"
Satoshi went overto Felina and placed a hand on her forehead "You don't seem too bad but if you're sure you're going to be ok then lets keep moving

Oassu took off his bandana around his neck and passed it to Felina "Here cover your mouth" with this he said "It should reduce the effects of the fumes" he turned to Zadina "are you going to be ok?" he asked nervously to the little elf who had a dreamy look on his face.
"Hmmmmmmm" Zadina said lazily "This stuff smells funny....we never did find that pot either" he said staggering lazily about.
Itaka nodded "Seph's right, the sooner we finish off that thing and Kyato the sooner this is all over" he said laughing at Zadina "Maybe we'll find that pot further in kid"
Mari grinned "A samurai must seek out bigger better goals!! I'm perfectly fine with taking on a huge giant super fiend!" he waved her sword in the air "I got the legendary Hojo's blade with me nothing can stop us!" she said throwing her arm around Hebal's neck and pulling her into a one armed hug while pointing the sword directly forward pointing out the path.

Seph turned around and looked at Felina and then Zadina "The mist is having an effect on you isn't it? But how come its not having much affect on you?" she asked Hayate.
Alpha tutted at Zadina "We have better things to do right now then going after magic pots. You sound like such a junkie when you just say pot"
Hebal hugged Mari back with her right arm "Theres nothing wrong with being confident but you gotta be careful too" she stabbed a snake like fiend with her spear with her left hand.

Felina simply stood still for a moment gazing at Oassu with a large grin on her face. She only realised what she was doing when Satoshi started poking her repetitively in the back. She blushed and took the bandana off Oassu and covered her mouth. "Sorry Oassu. The mist can make elves act a little strangly" she gave a muffled response.
Hayate turned around to face Seph "It has a slight affect on all of us. But I'm not a full elf so the mist doesn't do anything like that to me." he watched Zadina for a moment "We should keep an eye on him. Young elves tend to be effected the quickest"

Oassu blushed a little under Felina's gaze "Well I suppose we should get going then" he said moving forwards.
Itaka rolled his eyes "Leave the kid alone Alpha he can't help it" he said taking Zadina's hand and leading the dopey child further down.
Zadina giggled a little "Itaka and Seph sitting in a tree K-I-S-S-I-N-G" he hiccuped before cringing under a glare from Itaka.
Mari nodded "How come the mist isn't affecting you Hebal?" she said disarming a skeletal knight before slicing through it's ribcage.

"Don't worry Felina, its not like you're doing anything dangerous" Alpha reassured her. He gave Itaka an amused look "Look at you being all fatherly" he remarked following Oassu.
Seph rolled her eyes at Zadina. She summoned her bag and rummaged around until eventually taking out a scarf "This should help. I don't use it anyway" she wrapped the scarf around the kids mouth.
"It is affecting me" Hebal giggled jumping onto the head of a malboro. She placed her spear into the creatures head "I just took some medicine earlier to stop the symptoms showing"
