FW wont turn over their Krieg goldmine to GW, just look at the stuff they got planned for IA 6! It should be released sometime soon with siege equipment.

Chances of plastic greatcoat guard seem slim to nil at the moment, as nothing concrete has been shown as of yet. And if there will be greatcoats, then it will be Valhallans, one of the primogenitor armies of the Imperial Guard.

Xenos, CAD might be around for ages now, but it is still THE design program for just about anything from buildings to complex mechanical components less than a cm tall. I find it obvious that GW is using CAD, they just noticed it too late.

Does anybody actually use conscripts?

I've never seen them before and it would be interesting to wipe out a good two hundred men with ease.

What are the models that would be used for them, just normal guardsmen?
I use conscripts at times. What I generally do is mix in a bunch of guardsmen models, from tank crew to different homeworlds. Cadians, catachan, mordian, valhallan, mainly. This makes a suitable mob.

What I use them for? Killing assassins. Chaplains. Warbosses. The sheer number means that if I can't hurt it normally, I can throw these things at it and eventually, it will die. Or it will take all game to claw its way out. At the precise cost of filthy cheap, they're dangerously numerous. Think of them as grots with S/T of 3. Excellent cannon fodder, or for holding a flank against elite enemies. Keep an officer nearby, though.

Well, I've taken courses in egineering design with AutoCAD, as well as those in 3d animtation with 3Ds Max. For making mock ups, I'd personally rather have the 3D program, as for me, it's easier to use and allows for more complex objects.

And so I heard a rumour of that with the advent of the new IG codex that they're going to release or re-release a couple different armies. And as per IA6 (or IA5 p2), do you know what might be released with that?

The Reaver titan rules, Death Korps combat engineers, the Mole mortar launcher, mounted commissar and the Hades Assault Drill have been visually confirmed but not announced as of yet. Most of the releases for IA6 seem to be for chaos, with legion specific upgrade packs and new Nurgle designs such as the dreadnought and plague Ogryn.

For the most part the actual contents of the book are unknown as of yet. All I do know is that it will deal with the final year of the ten year siege and the final battle for the enemy stronghold, which is now bolstered by traitor marines. The Death Korps gets support from the Warp Runner titan legion and another loyalist a*****e marine chapter, most likely the Dark Hands or Red Scorpions.

I would absolutly love to do a valhallen IG army. Make it look like an oldschool USSR Motor rifles unit.

EDIT: Another thing I'd really like to see out of this codex is the autocannon turret for the chimera.

I think Mortium mentioned that you could convert one out of a Predator turret.

Conversion is not the issue. Auto cannons are not an option on standard Chimeras. Their IA.

Just scratch build your own from a spare Baneblade autocannon then. I built mine with a coaxial heavy stubber to make the whole model more compact and still look menacing.

Yes, we've already established that your gaming club sucks.

Well, my gaming club would probably be cool with it (the LGS, not the GW hobby center) but I dislike asking for special favors. If I had IA, and was running a list from there I'd do it, but I don't want to take non-options in a regular list, while everyone else I play with is stuck with just the options in their codex.

You shouldn't be. I regularily use a Vanquisher and Exterminator. And sometimes I use an Earthshaker platform, Thudd guns/Heavy mortars, Valkryies, the special rules for the Krieg, and I'm sure plenty of other things. So long as you have the rules, people usually aren't too upset by it.
