Kaya frowned some, urging the little animals to go back to their parents. "I'm sorry about them..." she said tentatively.

Luke shook his head a little. "It's no big deal... Could you... rub my back?" he asked. Maybe that would make it feel better.

Kaya nodded. "Sure," she said, moving so she was sitting behind Luke. She tentatively started to rub the spot that the crack had come from, then pressed a little harder.

Luke murred some as Kaya began to rub his back. But he grunted a little when Kaya began to press harder. That was a little uncomfortable, but if Kaya knew what she was doing, then he'd have to bear it and trust her.

Kaya smiled some as Luke seemed to relax, but when he grunted she winced. She could tell it wasn't a good sound, and she frowned. When an old wild dog had thrown out his back, she'd watched her mother pop it back, and she knew it would feel better once that was done, so she continued what she was doing, hoping that his back would pop soon and the pain would go.

Luke, after a while of bearing his back pain, suddenly felt a pop before relief. Utter relief... Right when his back popped back, he sighed and went a litle limp. That felt so much better.

Kaya smiled as Luke visibly relaxed. She looked up at his face, glad to see that the pain was gone. "All better?"

Luke mumbled something along the lines of a confirmation. He really wanted to go to sleep right then, but for one he had classes to teach, two: he had things to grade, and three: he was in Kaya's bed! He couldn't g to sleep here and hog her bed. The wolf tried to sit up, but he was so comfy, and with his back back in place, he was a little numb. And a little sleepy...

Kaya smiled a little, knowing that Luke was in no position to teach. She knew she'd need to get to class soon, so she got up from her bed and patted Luke's shoulder. "You should get some rest. I'm sure there's someone who can cover for you today," she reassured him.

Luke looked to Kaya as she got up and pat his shoulder. Well now that he had her permission, the wolf nodded some and began to drift off. She wouldn't mind sharing her bed, right? The wolf nestled into her bed and it only took just a few seconds before Luke was back asleep.

Kaya smiled some more and tucked Luke in. The other animals began to gather on the bed, snuggling with the wolf the same way they did with Kaya when she slept. Her first stop was at Jethrow's, to tell him that Luke wouldn't be able to teach that morning. The wizard called up Searan, who didn't have an official class, and asked him to cover for the sleeping wolf. Then, she headed to the kitchen, asking a maid to make sure some food ended up in her room for Luke, and finally she got to her classroom just in time for class.

Luke cuddled up to the animals as he slept, keeping them warm with his body heat. The maid nodded to Kaya's request on food for the sleeping red wolf. Oh how the news of Luke sleeping in Kaya's bed flew through the castle. And rumors soon followed.
After a while, Luke began to wake up. He found himself surrounded by the animals she owned and he was tucked into her bed. There was also a tray of food there for him to eat. "How long have I been asleep?" he mumbled, rubbing his head some.

The animals all stirred as Luke did, jumping up and shaking out their tails and paws and such. A figure from across the room came closer until they were revealed. It was Demetri, and he was smirking. "It's almost time for classes to end. You've been asleep all day. In the new teacher's room."

Luke jumped when Demetri appeared and spoke. How long had he been there?! Luke sat up and glanced around a little. The cubs and pups had taken over his coat, which he had wormed out of in his sleep. "And why are you here?" the wolf asked, looking to the wizard.

"Because curiosity killed the cat. Now, what's going on between you and Kaya?" Demetri asked, sitting in a chair by Luke's bed and looking a lot like an eager puppy.
