Oh, no, I like shooters. I just don't like many of the older out dated FPSes. One of the only genres where newer = better.
Maybe to you.
To me, most of the classic shooters are better than most of the shooters today.
I personally believe the Halo and Call of Duty games are
okay. Shooters today just seem like they're re-using gameplay. They're better looking, definitely, but gameplay and originality-wise, not so much.
Plus, Perfect Dark's engine is unique. It was used for Goldeneye, then it was upgraded for use in PD, and never used again.
Wow okay I'm ranting. It's just that it's been my favorite game for ten years, so I do get a bit defensive.
I'm gonna go take a shower.
