"Really?" Maia smiled, taking her plate. She felt considerably better knowing she'd be working with Lori today. She took out a fork, leaning against the counter and waiting for Toby to finish his own breakfast. "I've got practice with that, then."

Toby nodded. "Yeah. Plus before any fieldwork there's a briefing so even if you graduated to the next level and immediately forgot it all you wouldn't be in too much trouble." He started peeling the orange and, when it was good to segment, began making his own eggs and popping pieces of the fruit into his mouth as he went. "We'll be able to help. I've been at it forty years and Slimebag's got an eidetic memory."
Dari nodded as he came in, skin slightly damp from washing off paint. "We'll help." He smiled.

Maia nodded. "And field work is with you," She guessed. She started to peel her own orange, and gave Dari a smile. "With you guys helping, there's no way I could fail."

"Right. That'll be after you pass the training simulations," Dari said. Not 'if' but 'when.' "Yours should be a little simpler than ours."
"As in you won't need advanced combat or ballistics training," Toby added.

Maia took a bite of her omelet, swallowed, and gave Dari another smile. "You can help me memorize," She said. Practicing at home would help quite a bit. She didn't think she'd have any trouble with the lessons.

Dari nodded. "Sure."
Plus they had access to the entity files already and could quiz her directly on existing personalities.

Once breakfast was done, they drove to HQ. Maia gave Toby a quick kiss and headed to research. Classes were fine, she'd always enjoyed them. She didn't doubt her ability to memorize--it was the simulations she thought would be the trouble.
"Good morning Lori," she greeted the elf with a smile.

"Good morning, New Recruit," Lori said with a broad half-smile, "You're a little early. I'll meet you in the other room in a few minutes if you'd like? I just have to finish something up."

A few minutes, huh? Maia went to look for her favorite cat sidhe. "Seamus?" She hadn't brought anything for him today, but she'd like to see him. "Guess what kitty? I'm working here now."

One of the workers rolled out of her semi-cubicle and smiled to Maia, then pointed to the back of the room where Seamus lay in his bed, dead asleep.

Sleeping? Well it was earlier than her regular lessons, maybe he didn't wake until after ten. "Thank you," She smiled at the worker.

The worker smiled and rolled back to her spot where she resumed typing. Seamus purred in his sleep and rolled over, one paw flopping cutely at his belly.

Maia decided not to disturb Seamus, but she did wander over, take her phone out and snap a picture. She'd tell him later.
What was Lori working on?

Lori emerged shortly after and moved down to where Maia was, reaching out to touch her arm gently.
"Are you ready?" he asked, motioning back toward the classroom.

"Ready," Maia chimed, following Lori to the classroom. This was exciting. More lessons! She took a seat at the table and looked to Lori expectantly.
