Illo"If you wouldn't mind, that would be lovely, Adrian." Lilith sounded sweet again. She circled around Illo, sizing him up. She wondered if she could do it, if she could slay the Iron Phoenix. Sure, he'd made a career of killing demons, but Lilith had survived for over six thousand years. That was no small feat, and the fact is that that feat grows every day, with every attack from the school or every petty fight for territory in the Nether.
"And... No, he's not lying," she withdrew a little in surprise. "Wait, you mean no one's told you about demons? We aren't so bad, you know."
"It's true," said Illo chiming in. "I've found pleasant conversion in plenty a demon. In fact, some of them are more well-mannered than most humans." He was still ready to fight. After a moment of this he started his own attack. Suppose it was his turn.
"Here he comes, Adrian! Keep your soul steady." Illo went in for a few side kicks, taking advantage of his longest reach to soften the guard of Lilith. Lilith parried the kicks with Adrian and kept backing up as quickly as she could. She had an idea of what could happen if Illo got past her guard from earlier. Illo went up for another side kick, but suddenly stopped. trying to break the momentum of the Succubus' retreat. He waited for a split second, until Lilith stopped moving, and then shifted his feet rapidly together and out again like a nervous caterpillar. This time he would kick at the side of Adrian's point with a his heel via a hook kick.
"Oh boy..." Lilith had little to no time to react. Illo threw a kick at her midsection, but stopped short of hitting her. then a knife hand held under the Succubus' chin.
"You're reputation as a lover precedes your reputation as a fighter, Succubus." Illo stepped back and bowed again. This match looked to be over.
"I could say the same for you... Only in reverse. How mean, Mr. Phoenix." She would set Adrian on the ground gently. "It looks like your soul perception is as accurate as ever."
"Adrian, this is what the Phoenix is capable of. Aren't you glad he's on our side?"

Adrian Jones Adrian did as he was told and stayed in his lance form. When she asked him about demons he was just as surprised as she was. "Well, no, the most I've ever heard about demons is children's stories. I never thought..." He listened to their conversation and was still a bit concerned but he was much more relaxed. "Well ... if you say so. You've been so nice to me so it's hard to believe you're a demon, well, I guess I don't know much about actual demons." Adrian nodded and kept ready, wondering what would happen and as the battle was eventually decided he turned back into his human form. "That was a very educational match Illo, thank you for taking the time to teach us." He decided to bow in a sign of respect.

Illo"You're quite welcome, my son." Illo smiled. There was something about the lad he like, a certain openness. Normally people don't accept things like nice demons so easily. It really makes his job harder--and easier--as a monk. Lilith ruffled the boy's hair.
"Ya did kid out there. Was that your first match?"

Adrian Jones Adrian smiled as his hair was ruffled by the experienced monk. He wasn't sure how he felt right now, a mix of fear and wondering maybe? Adrian looked over towards Lily, not able to look into her eyes so he just kind of looked toward her. "So umm, a demon? You are a really nice demon Lily. So, uhh, sorry. I feel kind of awkward. This is all so new to me but you two talk about it like it is so normal. Does everyone know about demons in the world?" ""

▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀ζ▀▀▀▀I▀▀▀▀ζ▀▀▀▀I▀▀▀▀ț▀▀▀▀Ћ▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀ "Thank you darling. I'm sure we've seen our fair share of demons. They're becoming more and more popular, that's for sure. Some of them are pretty strong, some of them are just as fragile as humans... I'm somewhere in between."
I wish I could have gone all out against that damn monk! Look at him... So pompous! If I'd used my Succubus form this might be over. Imagine that for a trophy, the soul of the Iron Phoenix, slayer of countless demons.
"That's correct," said Illo adding his expertise. "With so many demons around, it is important to know which are violent and which are peaceful. Lily doesn't seem like the type to hurt others needlessly. I can tell by looking at her soul." Illo's soul perception was unusually detailed, and it got more accurate as his power increased.

Adrian Jones Adrian nodded, understanding more and yet more questions popped up in his head but he didn't want to bother them too much. Suddenly Adrian gasped loudly and pointed at Illo. "You can see souls! No one in Wales can do that and I want desperately to know what mine looks like. I met a man that could see my soul but he had to go before I could ask him, would you mind?" Adrian realized how loud he was being and was afraid he might come off as demanding but at the moment all this demon nonsense was wiped from his mind. "I am sorry if I sounded rude Illo, I am very curious is all."

Illo"Oh no, it's no trouble at all." The monk smiled and took a seat, chis-cross-applesauce, and looked the boy over for a moment.
"...Mm... That's is interesting. There is a certain brightness to your soul. Many souls have this on the outside, and when I look closer the souls tend to have darker elements underneath. Yours, however, seems to be light all the way through, or as far as I can see..." He appeared to be pondering the implications of this.
"So, what does it mean?" Asked Lilith, more interested now in the lad's soul now that Illo was.
"The boy appears to be pure of heart, if nothing else. His soul may just flourish under the right conditions. I would monitor a soul like this and its growth, if I were you. A soul like this can really change its environment... But it doesn't feel mature. Give it time, and shelter it from what the school calls madness as much as possible until then, and you will see just how strong it can become... This is my prediction."

Adrian Jones Adrian listened closely, not wanting to miss a single word. As Illo went on about him his eyes started watering. By the end tears were streaming down his face. "Th-thank you Illo so much." Adrian dropped down to his knees and wrapped his arms around Illo. He wasn't sure why he was feeling these overwhelming emotions. Adrian had been told he was kind before but the way Illo worded it touched him so deeply. He eventually let go, wiping away the tears and began apologizing. "I am sorry, that was uncalled for. Please forgive me. I just." There was a brief pause in Adrian's speech as he needed a moment to gather himself. "I have just never had anyone talk about me like that, it means a lot Illo, thank you again." ((OOC: That was beautiful, Idk why but I seriously felt touched, sorry if I sound sappy))

sighwhatever You're very welcome. C: I'm glad you enjoyed it. It means I've done my job as a writer.
Illo"Y-You're welcome." Illo didn't really know what to do or feel for a moment, his mind catching like a lose chain on a bicycle. As Adrian stood he would see a warm smile under the hood of the monk. He looked less like a scary assassin and more like a benevolent mushroom now.
"You're kidding!" Lilith was also astonished. She began racing over thoughts in her head: can he see that much about me? Does he know?
"Lily, on the other hand--" crap! he knows! "has many layers to her soul. This is clearly the soul of someone who has lived a long time. You two could learn a lot from each other." Lilith looked over at Adrian, squirming mentally and smiling.
"Well, you heard him. It looks like we're going to have to stick together for a while."

Adrian Jones Adrian felt more at ease when he saw Illo's warm smile. He looked towards Lily, nodding as he heard Illo's explanation. "I see. Yeah, I guess so Lily. Wait, lived a long time? Lily, you do not look very old at all." Adrian didn't want to ask her age outright, thinking that would sound rude, but he was hoping she would go into further detail. ((OOC: Go write self help books xD also I'm sorry if my responses are short, I love rping but I wouldn't call myself the best writer, hehe))

(Psh, nah, you're fine. I hate people who write super long posts. Like, Adv. lit.? Screw that. There's toast... alleluia. 'Sides, I try to be more poetic about it, so my posts are short compared to a lot of people's standards.) ▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀ζ▀▀▀▀I▀▀▀▀ζ▀▀▀▀I▀▀▀▀ț▀▀▀▀Ћ▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀ "How old am I? Well..." Lilith spun her head's tires in mud on the way to her speech center. It looked like she really didn't remember how old she was for a second, which would have made complete sense too.
"Ah, what the heck? I'm over six thousand years old. But, you know, I moisturize." She said it half-jokingly, hoping the two would brush it off. Illo, though, looked like a normal person would if they'd seen a ghost.
"...What?" Asked Lilith with blinky eyes. "You're that Succubus! The original, aren't you?" Lilith turned her head up a little and gave a "so!?" look.
"...That's right."

Adrian Jones And just like that, Adrian was confused once again. He found the joke Lily made to be funny and was, of course, shocked to learn that he was talking with and fought with a six thousand year old demon but something inside Adrian decided to just accept whatever these two said. "So you are a succubus, and not just any but the original one? This is a very weird first day of school. Goodness what will I write to my parents? Will they even believe me?" Adrian wondered for a moment if he could possibly be dreaming but shook his head slightly, it was obviously real. "This is all so new to me, sorry if I am asking to many questions."

Illo"You see? The boy will accept any truth, no matter how absurd!" Illo was laughing in joy at the curiosity of this blank slate. "I'd be lying if I said he wouldn't be the ideal pupil. Lily--or should I say Lilith--would you permit me to give Adrian lessons every once in a while?"
"Lil-Llilth! How do you know--ah, never mind... I don't know. What do you think Adrian?"

Adrian Jones Adrian smiled, glad he wasn't being messed around with. "Lilith ... I think I will still call you Lily if that is okay." He considered for a second, Illo was obviously very strong and wise but Adrian wasn't sure if that's what he wanted to do with his life. "If it will allow me to help people then yes, I would love to receive some lessons from you Illo." Adrian remembered the reason he came her in the first place. His abilities were a gift given to him by chance so he wanted to use them to help others didn't receive the same chances in their lives.

Illo"Take your time. You don't need to commit to anything just yet." Illo chuckled. Lilith was silent. Now that the nature of his soul had been revealed, the Succubus wanted the man's greedy paws on him even less. And by "paws," I of course mean influence, seeing as the boy was a blank slate and would likely take on most of the trappings of whomever made the biggest impression on him first. That couldn't be Illo... It just couldn't!
"Sure, you can take lessons in fighting from Illo. But you'll have to go on missions with me, since I'm your partner," Lilith reminded the lance. "That is what you want to do here, right? Go on missions, help the school?"
