xThe cool breeze coming off of the sea felt nice against the First Mate’s skin. It had a tingling aftereffect to it from the salt in the water that would rise from the force of the oars digging into the water. Steady grunts come from the figure as they row the boat from an odd position. Burlap sacks are on the floor of the ship, as they normally are, so instead of rowing near the center of the boat, the First Mate has to try and row from the back of the boat. Once a course has been securely set for Hidden Alchemy, the First Mate decides to go out in search of food for when Jester and the captain woke from their rest. Stepping off of the boat, the sky dark due to it being night time, the First Mate begins to walk across the water in order to catch food without changing course. Once the First Mate goes far enough out, the darkness covering their form from view, a hand grabs onto the side of the small structure. A gasp, and soon a soaking wet figure is clinging to the side of the boat.
“I thought… hah hah… I was gonna… hah hah,” the figure huffs out. It seems to be the Second Mate, finally rejoining the group after being cast out to sea by the First Mate. “That damn sword nut… Hah… Woo! Now that I have returned, I’m going to set us on course for Alchemy. By the way that the boat is still drifting on, that sword slapper must have gotten lost.” He had no idea that Bel and the others had actually ventured to Hidden Void in the time where he was at the mercy of the sea. He grips the oars, sitting at the back of the floating device, and begins rowing. He twists and turns the vessel about until facing in a new direction. This ought to be the proper direction for Hidden Alchemy! However, that was incorrect. They were now headed from Hidden Void to Hidden Federation, towards the dock near Hidden Aviation. Once on course, the soaked man stands atop the board that served as a seat on the boat. “Now men,” he yells quietly, “we will once again regain the admiration of the Prince! As the true First Mate, I will guide us along and have the Prince look to us with pride and commend us. Yar men! What say ye?”
He looks to the sky, having given a little speech, and seems to grin to himself. He has once again succeeded in setting things right. He would have to remain conscious through the night to be sure that samurai idiot didn’t come and send them off course again. The Second Mate stares into the sea contently before she lures him deep into her depths and causes him to fall asleep while rowing.
