C. Fox: Its like that here too.
I can submit people, and I do in fact try. But I get a mount and set my position, then go for submissions. If they try shrimping too much or bucking I have to reset and go again.
I am not a slick submission specialist ala Roger Gracie. I'm more like Jeff Monson. I get my position and I methodically work you down.
I just get point victories more then sub victories.
Go tell Jacare' he doesn't deserve his Black Belt because he won Mundials by all decisions and i'll call you an idiot.

Hockey is the best.
Originally the goalies didn't even wear masks.

Acropilis The Darth Vizzle themightyjello Lacrosse is like soccer where they beat each other with sticks. Is this aforementioned beating more or less violent than hockey. Because my list of team sports in terms of awesome is currently: 1. Gridiron 2. Rugby 3. Hockey 4. Lacrosse F*cking yes it is, It starts the game with a one on one equivalent of the rugby scrum-whatever and we have football style tackles. I've brocken my oak Lacrosse stick on some poor kid's head before and gave the dood a concusion. There are a lot of checks and tackles, and their more frequent than in hockey so I'd say Lacrosse is more violent (I can say this from experience) @ Vansin, not all the sticks are hollow, in fact all 3 of mine have been solid hard red-wood or hickory Where do you live? I'm from America, east coast. Maybe it's played differently in countries/regions that are hardcore. But I played for three years and the kids from local hockey teams took a lot worse of a beating than we did. Sure, you could swing the stick and wail on someone, I had my third rib broken in a game once, but in hockey, beating the everloving s**t out of each other is an institution. I never got that feeling in lacrosse.

Nothing quite like the sound of someone being smashed against the sideboards.

I will not edit my post to reduce the size. The picture needs to be that large so you can see the grit.

But Jacare has an overall sick Jiu Jitsu, just like Marcelo Garcia and Xandre Ribeiro. They got the chokes, they got the sweeps, etc.
You basically just let me know that you can get a takedown/judo throw and mount.

When you get hit in the face with a hockey ball (I dare not think about an actual puck) that s**t hurts so bad. But damn if I didn't block that ******** shot like a pro...with my face... Street hockey was fun times.

C. Fox:
Just because I don't WIN by Submissions doesn't mean I don't have the skills. Sure, I am a better top control grappler. Position, lock downs, etc then I am submissions.
But I can sweep from the bottom, do submissions and so on. Not as good as a member of the 'Holy Trinity' obviously, but I can do them. I have a Black Belt under Bill Scott, who has a Black Belt under Renzo.
I'm a good grappler, just not a submission machine.

I never got that feeling in lacrosse. I'm from the west coast and the lacrosse here is a lot more physical and violent than for say in the east coast. Sure it's a lot more dignified and organized over there, but here, since it hasn't been around too long, it's played like football and hockey's b*****d child. I've played some hockey in Canada on some trips, but it never got as violent asI thought it would, *Shrugs. Maybe the team I played on just wasn't as physical...

Yeah, and they don't have those gay hats.
But they pretty much have the grit, except on hard ice, not soft dirt.
