It's a sequel, set in the same world, but it isn't apparent until much later, and it has next to nothing to do with the story of the original until the very end.
I like it, though.
I haven't gotten around to getting Chrono Trigger yet, though... I'd feel bad pirating it, and I can't really justify full price for a 15 year old game, either...

I should have just linked to the opening FMV.
It's basically a montage of all the best looking FMV clips from the whole game, set to probably the best song in the game.

they got the animated cut-scenes from the playstation version and even some NEW s**t

I still haven't finished it on the DS, just the SNES
I am at the part where it splits off and you have so many choices what to do next and I can't remember where to go at ALL

8-bit Jazzy Seriously? Are there any games with better CG from '97 or before? That'd be a really subjective thing to answer. Diablo had a pretty nice CG opening though.
