As groups of Shadow grunts filled the lab in Orre trying to fix the facility, the three admins met in a meeting in a dark board room.
"Clearly we're underestimating Team Aqua." Dante pounded on a table. Ilyana flinched as Josec looked to the side, ashamed. "Twice in one week they weaviled their way in here. TWICE!" he yelled in rage. Josec stood up from his seat, sporting a black eye.
"And where were you? It was Ilyana and I up against two legends." he fired back at Dante.
"Quiet you two." Ilyana said in her chair. "Clearly some of this is our fault. We rid ourselves of a leader with no caution for what it might bring to our plans."
"She's right." admitted Dante. "We need an effective head for the team. We recklessly tossed out Madame Theresa like yesterdays news."
"Don't you forget why we did that!" Josec pointed his finger at Dante. "Clearly our problem right now is disorganization. Each one of us does not want to listen to the other."
"So it's agreed. We will find a new leader for Team Shadow." said Ilyana. "In the mean time, suggest one of us act as a steward for the position." she then suggested.
"Well I vote for your's truely." crudely stated Dante, giving a pound of his fist to his chest. Josec shot him an icy stare.
"No. The Aqua girl. She'll be perfect. Once we do find a good candidate, we will dispose of her after she serves no further purpose." He said.



That afternoon Ike was on a boat sailing toward Olivine City. From there he would fly back to Aquos Island and the HQ. After thinking over things last night, he had a change of plans. Sure there was something he was planning on doing with Celebi's Time Travel, but he wanted to do it with the Team. No longer would Ike go solo. He wanted his team by his side.
Ike watched the waves pass by the ship as it gradually made its way east.

Theresa walked out of the hospital wing/room, a grave look on her face. Her last check on Maddy was not a happy one. With a sigh, she situated herself outside the door, leaning against the wall, her sightless stare directed towards the ceiling. She did not like to be the bearer of bad news. "Josec, what have you done..."

Theresa looked up as she heard the echo of footsteps walking through an almost empty HQ. She recognized as a blue aura appeared in the thick white haze that constantly haunted her vision. "You..." She frowned slightly. "I thought you were trapped back at the lab..." She couldn't hide the sad look on her face, so she looked away from him so she was looking at the wall.

Theresa sighed. "I have something to tell you about your friend..." She looked at him. "I knew from the beginning that this was happening... but I didn't think she would have so short a time left at this point..." She crossed her arms over her chest, trying to avoid directly saying it. She just looked down at the floor.

Theresa shook her head. "It's safe to assume, that ever since the injection, your friend's body has been fighting off the virus. The medallion around her neck, the aura it radiates, somehow merged with her body and managed to stop the virus from flowing through her whole system. The virus has taken over exactly half of her body, her left side, and it is steadily winning over the medallion's power." She paused to let the information sink in. "I woke up today and did my usual inspection of her body. It seemed that the virus managed to leak into the other half of her system and is now destroying her at a much faster rate." She looked at Ike.

"I'm sorry... but your friend is dying. She has only a few more days left at this rate."

With Maddy's mortality thrown at him, Ike was taken back. He looked over at Cody.
"It's Maddy. We got her back from Team Shadow... but she's not going to pull out of it at this rate." he said, looking down to the ground.

"No. I think we'll take a different course." Ike said, getting angry. "Your starting to outstay your welcome... if you ever had one in the first place." he told her. "I've seen what Team Shadow wants to do to pokemon. You make me sick."
