*hugs* Thank you.

Having Toonami back is so amazing! We don't get CNat my house anymore, but it's nice to know that Toonami's around again.

From what I've heard, Casshern Sins and Samurai 7 weren't very good. I've heard some good things about Eureka 7, but this picky mecha fan is being cautious. Even w/ Gundams, I only care for a handful of the sub-series.

I've been binging on anime since I got home. One I enjoyed through the CrunchyRoll site was Sword Art Online. It's not a groundbreaking series by any stretch, but it was certainly entertaining in its own right.

Aside from Dishonored, have you tried out any other interesting games?

O_O I just remembered. I bought Star Wars Unleashed II just before christmas, and never opened it. I was playing Mass Effect 1 on my PS3. So . . . I have games to play. I also have the Ratchet and Clank compilation from Christmas as well, so I am good for games for a little bit. ^_^;;;

Yeah, Cassern Sins was VERY depressing. I mean, to the point of being nigh unwatchable. Samurai 7 was meh. Nothing that made me sit up and take notice. As for Eureka 7, I had to wonder something. When you have airships and mechs, why are the mechs using surfboards with psychadelic contrails?! Just made me sit there and go WTF for the whole half hour. Perhaps I didnt give it enough of a chance, but I turned off the DVR timer. *shrugs*

I am looking forward to the anime-ish styles of Young Justice and the CG Green Lantern shows to return in a couple weeks.

*gollum-like pose* and the release of THIS!

Its already paid for, and is the largest cost I have ever spent on a toy. Ever.

Ratchet and Clank is a fun series.
I got Last Story and Xenoblade for Christmas, so I've got some JRPGing to do on my Wii.

You'd never believe Casshern Sins was a reboot of a decades-old manga (from the Kamen Rider and Astro Boy era) that served as the inspiration of Mega Man.

I won't deny that Eureka 7 is strange. I've seen a smattering of episodes, and the protagonist, being roughly 14 and whiny, may annoy you (though he does mature by the end from what I've been told). If you've ever seen FLCL, the protagonist is similar to Naota.

I've seen some adverts for Young Justice; it seems like a solid effort overall.

Wowee! Is that Casette player functional?

I actually watched a lot of the Casshern movie- had it on VHS (illegally dubbed from a rental store). It was okay, and I liked the eco-terrorism of unit BK-01, the Black King. Didnt know it was a forerunner for Mega, though!

whiny as all get-out, yah. I liked FLCL as soon as I stopped trying to understand it. It's a second only to Elf Princess Raine . . . that is anime on crack.

YJ was alright, and I watch it. My main issue was how the show was doing fine and suddenly they did a 5 year timeskip with no warning. Kinda killed a lot of the potential for me. Still very watchable, but I can't invest in the characters now for fear that they will arbitrarily go "Meh, we will just gloss over a few years." stare

While I do not believe the cassette player is functional in that way, it is a Masterpiece of a personal favorite- and the fact that MP level engineering was devoted to the cassettes was nothing short of wonderful. I spent so damned much on it . . . but it is released this month (or so they say), and paid for. When all of those in the pic are available, they get sent to me in a box and I squee like a 5 year old in Willy Wonka's imagination room without his or her parents.

Oh, neat. Yeah, anime that old was never of great quality.

Now I must see this Elf Princess Rane. pirate

Oh, that's rather annoying.
Its art style reminded me of Teen Titans, which is why I had a positive outlook toward it.

The bot's name is Soundwave, right?
I know enough about models from Gundam model kits to know that Masterpiece-level is amazing!

*shrugs* It was okay. Some gems like the Bubblegum Crisis, but a few duds too.

The Elf Princess was really ******** random and bizarre. One aspect was the 'hero' only heard gibberish whenever the elf (who was more of a fairy) spoke, so it was all random oddness. Really made me scratch my head- but the more I watched it, the better it got.

YJ has a totally different art style than Teen Titans . . . far more realistic. But yeah, I loved TT. Was sad to see it go.

Masterpiece level TFs are aimed at my generation- those with a fair amount of money they are willing to part with over a toy. Of course, that means that the quality must be up there as well. I have most of the MPs that are out now, including the first one (Optimus Prime, with over 100 points of articulation), Megatron, Starscream, Grimlock, Rodimus (prime), and a Skywarp (black/purple repaint of Starscream).

That is indeed Soundwave, and I always loved him so very, very much. He is due to be released mid-January according to latest reports and I cannot wait. I'm vibrating for when that glorious b*****d and his personal army of cassettes are MINE!!!!!

Soundwave, Laserbeak, Buzzsaw, Rumble, Frenzy, and Ravage. All. Mine. cool

Just to clarify: The age of anime I was referring to was that OLD Speed Racer anime w. hardly any animation. The Casshern movie you saw may have been newer than that.

From what I looked up earlier today, it seems pretty random. Ill probably check it out some time.

Hm, maybe I'm thinking of another show. When at college, news of all these shows kind of runs together in my head.

~

Yeah, that's what I had thought. Those collector-level figures are incredible. I don't really have the money for that sort of thing now, but in the future...

Yeah, it was better animation than the Speed Racer bit . . .

As for the toy- I really didn't have the money either. sweatdrop I splurged like mad on a level I had never before reached. I do not regret the purchase, but do regret the cost.

Yeah . . . and of course, if this goes well, other online purchases will happen. They are releasing a 3rd party redesign of a rather interesting toy in a couple of months. His name was Sixshot, with the gimmick of six modes, rather than two or three. I admit- I am tempted.

Aw, unexpected delays are rotten. It stinks to have spent the money for it but have nothing to show for it.

I have to keep telling myself that it will come. That I will get it . . . and have to be patient.
