What's not to like about the Corsair? It has swept wings, a powerful 2,000 hp Pratt & Whitney engine that is designed to make lethal diving attacks with guns blazing.
Oh! I forgot the Thunderbolt! That baby has a nice roaring engine. whee

The BF-109F4 and the LaGG3 1941 were the two sexiest WW2 Fighters.
Now-adays? It's the F-14D Tomcat, and the F-18 Super Hornet.

I've got a big soft spot for the Mustang and the Corsair myself. The prior is a nimble beauty and the latter a flying brute that's overkill when pitted against Zeros.

There's something about AC-130s that makes my heart go all a-flutter. Possibly it's just the ridiculous sense of overkill that they give against any target.
