Miete continued to hold onto him, trying not to think about what could happen after he left. She didn't know what to say to that.

He hugged her another moment, before stepping back. "I have to go." He left, the door closing behind him.

Miete sunk to the floor in a heap. She couldn't get up or say anything.

"...This probably isn't the time for this... But he wanted to give you this." Koenma pulled out a box from his desk, walking over and holding it out, removing the top to reveal a crystal-bladed sword, embeded with pearls and silver. "It's a singing sword, the one that belonged to his mother..."

"Strange thing about this sword, really. No one can use it." Koenma reached for it, and recieved a nasty shock. "See? Now, Keshoto's been the only one who can pick it up and carry it, but it won't let him do much else. Says he's not the one. But I did hear Keshoto tell me one thing about this sword: it still follows him." Koenma smiled. "It may not want him as its owner, but it knows the connection with him and its last user. So it sortof keeps an eye on him, you could say... I wonder if someone who could use it wanted to follow him..."

Miete nodded, still feeling empty and reached up, grabbing the hilt of the sword and waiting for something to happen.

The sword glowed slightly, huming.
"Well I'll be. Looks like it likes you, Miete. Use it well." Koenma took the box, putting it away.
