Thard_Verad I turned my Linoone into an itemizer and HM slave. Between Pickup and Covet, I could get lots of good stuff. Surf and Strength were both invaluable (Since I started with Treecko). And Odor Sleuth was there to mess with ghosts and double-teamers. I really only use Torchic as my starter, but the team I had with Linoone in it was Blaziken, Linoone, Flygon, Crawdaunt, Agron, and Gardevoir.

I caught a Shiny Solrock on my last Ruby playthrough...
Which reminds me, I should transfer that over to Platinum.
*Has very good luck with shinies*

I don't remember what my Hall of Fame team was in Ruby.
I just know I had the worst possible luck at the worst possible time against Flannery.
Thick Fat Azumarill vs Slugma: - Defense Curl / Fire attack (burns) - Heal burn / attack again - Heal wounds / yada yada - Rollout (1) / ... - Roullout (2) / Faints
vs Second Slugma: - Rollout (3) / Faints
vs Torkoal: - Rollout (4) / Almost Faints. Uses Attract. - Flannery uses item / Rollout ... stopped by Infatuation
That was really really annoying. I eventually took down Torkoal the hard way, after absorbing three Overheats and minimizing the thing's Sp.Atk.

Flannery's Torkoal always gave me problems, I had to catch a Spoink, and train it a little to beat it

Flannery was never a problem for me. Don't remember what I would raise though.
I know either Blaziken or Swampert. ... ..... ..... That's all I remember actually...

Oh boy... The gyms in HG/SS are going to be even harder now that abilities are in play.
Falkner: Can't use Sand Attack to blind his birds Bugsy: Technician + Fury Cutter? Whitney: Miltank is always a meanie Morty: No more ground attacks Chuck: Primeape's either sleep-proof or gets amped by a critical Jasmine: Will Steelix use Rock Head and Double-Edge? Pryce: Snow Cloak on Piloswine, need I say more? Clair: Either Sniper or Swift Swim will make Kingdra a beast.
I won't even get into the E4 or Kanto, and I bet all of the leaders will use a held berry on their strongest Pokemon.

Maybe Blue's 2nd fight FR team will be his team in this game D:

D= I never thought of abilities! HG/SS is going to be so hard. Maybe the Gyms will get rebalanced due to the new Pokemon that have been added since then.
One can only hope. Though they didn't mix up the gyms THAT much in FR/LG... I don't think anyways. -didn't pay that much attention during his play through a million years ago-

I'm guessing they'll have a National Dex restriction like FR/LG had. So you can't get anything beyond Celebi until after you meet the requirements.
And Blue's team was already hard enough with Pidgeot, Rhyhorn, Alakazam, Gyarados, Exeggutor, and Arcanine. Perhaps if they allow Gym Rematches he'll switch to his second-round team.
I still liked Brock in GSC. His entire team was either Water/Rock, Ground/Rock, or Water/Ground. Meganium swept him 5-0.

Steelix Crobat Rampardos Golem Aerodactyl
That'll be a little harder to beat.
