She suirmed with pleasure, blushing brighter and standing up again, hands clasped behind her back. She opened her mouth to speak, then closed it again. After thinking a moment she opened her mouth to speak again,
"Should we keep moving?"

Rohan smiled then nodded, pushing himself up to his feet. This time his eyes caught the movement of something in the tres but he couldn't make out what it was. He shrugged a little then continued walking. "Hopefully we'll see more animals as we get further in."

This time, the movement caught Tess' eye, but she only flinched minutely, nodding and still smiling softly,
"And not so hopefully, other things, neh, Ro-kun?"
She sped p a little to put herself behind him.

"Yeah..." Rohan continued to glance around, his keen eyes picking up on small movements here and there. Where they being watched? He couldn't tell. But, for now, the movements were small enough not to worry too much about...he hoped.

((I'm assuming you wouldn't mind if I time ahead a little.)) They went on without trouble until around noon. At which point Tess, who'dfallen behind again, trotted up to Rohan's elbow, plucking at it lightly.
Do you mind if we stop for a little bit. It doesn't seem too bad here, maybe a little rest?"

((That's alright. I'm still trying to think up what trouble they could get into. @~@))
Rohan nodded to her and took a look around. They'd gone quite a ways but hadn't come across anything yet. In a way, he was a bit disappointed. He pulled off his pack and moved to sit on nearby rock. "What a great way to get some exercise. I just wish we could see some creatures of some sort..."

She nodded, plopping dwn on the bare ground, not worried about the leaves.
"It is a little strange. But maybe, if we stay long enough, they'll get used to us and come out. Some of them, anyway. Some of them can stay where they are."
She slid her pack into her lap, rummaging through to find a waterskin of some sort.

Rohan remained standing, his eyes glancing at one thing to the next. Something just didn't feel right. Animals usually overflowed out of the forest...but this part seemed to be devoid of them. He now wished that he had talked to Ray before leaving.
Through the middle of his thoughts, Rohan heard the pull of what sounded like a bow string. He quickly rolled to the right just as the arrow flew past, sticking into the ground at the base of the tree he'd been standing infront of. It seemed a lone orc had found them.
((*tries to make things interesting-ish* gonk ))

She heard the arrow strike, and dropped her bag, staying in her sitting position, very still, hands sliding into her oversized boots, slowly, drawing out two longish daggers.
"Rohan," she asked, voice low, mor murmuring than whispering, knowing the harsh sound of a whisper would be heard more clearly, and lisping her S consanats for the same reason, "What ith it?"

Rohan stayed still for a moment, his long ears twitching slightly. He glanced at Tes but before her could answer, the orc came crashing down out of the tree. It appeared a bit smarter than a normal orc since it had first used a bow rather than just smashing them. "That!," he pointed in responce, instantly grabbing the hilt of what looked like a dagger but when unsheathing the blade, it came out a longsword. He'd forgotten he had such an item. The orc growled, pulling out a nasty-looking mace, wondering who to charge first.

Tess, to her own amazement, managed not to make a sound as the thing came crashing into their clearing, save a sharp gasp and the rustle of leaves as she rolled to her feet, daggers out and ready.
((Permission to godmode a nonfatal hit?))

((Godmodding's only if you wanna kill it without effort. xp Hit all you like though it might swing back.))
Deciding that the elf infront of him was more of a threat with his longsword, the or rushed forward but Rohan was ready to dodge. If anything, Rohan could move out of the way. He then tried swinging the sword at the orc's side, getting a small hit in before the orc's mace came down on his off arm.

"NO!"
Tess shreiked and flung one dagger, expertly, burying it into the beast's shoulder to the hilt, raising the other to throw it as well, crouched in a low position.

The orc growled when the dagger sunk into his shoulder, his attention fading from the elf infront of him. He twisted and moved toward the girl he had ignored beforehand. But Rohan wouldn't let him get far, his longsword slicing across the back of the orc's leg to make him unable to walk.

As he fell, Tess darted forward, driving her dagger deeper with one hand, and sending a flying kick to the creature's wrist, intending to knock the mace away.
