Captain Hildegard stepped out of the LAV he'd procured with about as much grace as a stuffed nerf. He had drunken heavily the night before, as he was want to, and it showed a bit in his demeanor.

Nevertheless, he dare not miss out on any ceremonies. He was a captain, after all.

Escorted by the men from his group receiving awards, he made his way to the presentation's designated area.

Charr noted a glint on the horizon, a traveling speeder. It could only be a landspeeder, for such things were the only shiny things that moved that fast on the veld.
He watched it as it departed from sight over the horizon while detailing his plan to his assembled rebels, going over all the bits and pieces of the plan he had cobbled together.
Once it was gone he continued wth the details.
"Rate, your part will require you to get your hands on an imp comlink. Now Ive given you the frequency for my headset, so click the audio link once its live to let me know I'm on. Any questions?"

((gawd....they're up to something. I hate not knowing what they're up too.... xp stupid fog of war.))
#06 pulled up to the center and the squad piled out in their dress uniforms.
Adjusting her collar, Kara gave a sigh and motioned her men forward.
"Well, gents, lets get this over with. Flight, make sure to lock #06. I'd be dreadfully disapointed if someone stole it." She remarked with noted sarcasm.
"Aye miss. Though you know, if someone did jack it, they'd just send us a worse vehicle." Her Flight sergeant told her.
"Yes. Bloody shame."

As the group of Naval Officers exited their vehicle Colonel Akaga stood and walked out to meet them. A slight smile passed his face as he caught the last of their banter about the LAVr Chariot, "No need to lock it up Sergeant, we're replacing her anyway."

Kriff. That was quick. Well, since I'm here, I might as well humor Colonel Percy.

Kara snapped about and with a smart click of her heels saluted the Colonel, a gesture that was repeated in an instant by her crew.

She looked upon him with an expressionless face, honed at the academy to shield her real opinions from the eyes of superiors.

"Lieutenant Jr Grade Kara Aryss, reporting as ordered Sir. Also as Requested I brought the rest of the Naval Special Missiona and Air Support Coordination team."

Colonel Akaga snapped a salute back at the bunch, "At ease Lieutenant."

Saburo's experienced eye quickly glanced around the team, the ncos seemed competent, and one of them had that hardened look of a seasoned campaigner. Their leader on the other hand still seemed green to his eyes, but at the same time there was a quickness in her movement that betrayed an intelligence and an intensity, both marking her as true command material.

"We're replacing your LAV because I figured that if you're going to be fighting in a vehicle you'd prefer one that isn't known for summarily exploding under blaster fire."

Rate gave a thumps up."All shiny, Sir. Now if you don't mind, we gotta prepare." He said, turning around and giving orders to his corporal, a hunter named Church who then got the men together into the truck.

"I'll give you a ring once I get ahold of one, as for you two." He looked at Lenler and Groz."Don't get yourselves shot. Especially you Groz." He said climbing into the back of the truck

"Good point. Roll out men." He paused, thinking of what he was about to do, of what he was about to undertake.
He was about to continue a fight he had left over a decade ago. And this time it wasnt for money, or for the thrill of killing.
It was to fight for his home, to defend the freedoms that the Empire sought to destroy.

He thought back to that Jedi Girl, that one he saw gunned down on Felucia by her own men, and to the Jedi that had fallen under his scope that night he won his Planet's most coveted award.

The Jedi had fought for ideals, hadn't they? They had fought to defend the Republic, to defend the Freedoms that it stood for in better times. It was because they would continue to do so that the Republic betrayed them.

But they weren't jedi. None of them were. They were normal people: Pilots, Hunters, and Old soldiers, men and women forced from their normal lives because they knew they did not have to take the Empire's violations quietly.

If the Jedi didnt stand a chance, what chance would they?
They would need all the help they could get.

Before he even realized it, he said it.
"And may the Force be with you." He told them.

There had to be a catch...this was was too good of an offer.
"Such as, Sir?" she asked as she stood at ease, her men following suit.

Colonel Akaga smiled, "We're giving you a modified Swift Assault 5 Hoverscout, as for the catch..."

The Colonel nodded to her men, "We'll discuss that after the ceremony, in private." Saburo added, "In the meantime, step inside my headquarters. I'm sure you're hungry after the trip, and our hostess has us overstocked in the appetizer department."

"Ready sir." Lenler said, standing close to Charr, right in front of him. He wasn't afraid, not really. He found the fear had dissipated a few hours ago, leaving just a feeling of determination and an icy feeling in his stomach. The adrenaline had started pumping, and he found his senses more acute, and time almost seemed to be going by more slowly.

He held his rifle loosly in his arms as he looked up at the Rodian again. He couldn't decipher the look in charr's eyes. "Let's do this." He said softly, quiet enough that he probably wouldn't be heard by anybody around him.

"I think that anything you have to say can also be said to my men as well. Sir." Kara said calmly. "The Imperial Space Force trains nothing but competent personel. And they are the best of the lot. They can be trusted to keep their hatches sealed."

A not-so-subtle jab at the Colonel's branch of service seemed called for. Kara felt she owed alot to the men she led. The veiled distrust of her lower ranked soldiers, especially hardened vets like the NSMARC Team was somewhat insulting to her.

These werent Recruit Spacemen, these werent even recruit army. They were Navy Special Missions soldiers. And they deserved to be treated with due respect, especially from some dirt humping colonel who would never know life in the black.

"Now I hope the invitation of food isnt also restricted to the Officer Corp..."

"You may trust your men implicitly Lieutenant, I however don't. In New Karna the walls have eyes and ears that are attached to our political leadership, and I'm quite sure they would be none to pleased with what I had to say," Saburo replied. "Captain Hildegard, the Recon troop commander has some friends in high places for example."

Colonel Akaga pulled open the door, "And of course your men can enjoy the creations of our host." Turning he stepped into the room, "Abeni, we have guests."

With a rustle of robes the Seya'Quon woman appeared out of the kitchen with a large tray of pastries and a pot of steaming cafe and set it on a table in the map room. The colonel smiled at the other food that had already been set out, "She sure knows how to feed an army."

Knowing an offer when they heard it, the Squad muscled past the Lieutenant and helped themselves.

Seeing the unfamiliar Alien, Kara frowned and glanced to the Colonel.
"Alien Staff, Colonel? Isnt that against regulations?"

Groz's job was easy enough. But it was one that required precision and teamwork and he was doubtful of the teamwork of his squad. The three weeks had not been enough. He wished they could chose their battlefields, with supplies and weapons. But hopeful dreams would get them nowhere. When he had heard Rate's voice, he nodded and replied.

I won't get shot, if you don't run off with some pretty little Twi'lek dancer girl. Haha.

Then upon hearing Charr's final command, he responded as a true warrior should.

Do not worry, Charr. The Imperials shall soon walk the Shadowlands in fear and cowardice. And this planet shall be better off for it.

He turned to his men, motioned to the truck, and began packing up. Readying himself for their first mission.
