Ruby_Rain Ruby sighed, and glanced at Reaper "Can't assume every jaw with fangs is gonna bite. But eh...." She glanced down at Arch. "Aw, Sug, what's wrong hon? Anything I can help you with?" Arch shook his head, glad for his shades as his eyes moistened. "Tis mah son's birthday, todah. Ah don' wanna beh sober for it. I don' wanna be able to think clearleh..."

Ruby smiled up at jake, "Hey there army boy, want a drink." She offered the glass she was holding to him, and looked down at Arch with a wink. She gave him pat on the cheek. "If you need anythin Arch, just let me know."

Arch smiled faintly at Ruby, thankfull for not having to go into any more details as he stood up, heading back to wandering the halls, the thought of food gone from his mind as he 'celebrated' the birthday of his only son.

Jake smiled and laughed. " I'm fine, it's good to back around good friends again." He takes the drink. " thank you very much." he replied.

Reaper stood up quickly. " That's the guy!" To the glaring at Jake. " Who the hell is this guy?!"

Ruby smiled, "he's an army brat, that's what he is, and a good hero. No worries, sug, we usually keep a good eye on who all comes in here." She walked to the kitchen cupboard and started work on a black forrest cake.

Jake Laughed. " Ruby, I'm hurt! I don't think I'm a "Army Brat" as you say I am. I had other things to worry about as you know..." He said a little more sternly. Jake took a goulp of his drink.

Reaper snarled a bit in and sat back down in her chair making a thude noise. " So he's a hero I see, whatever." She turned her head and looked the other way.

"Purposeful understatement," Ruby smiled with a wink at Draco. She glanced back at Reaper, "not only a hero like us, but a war hero as well. It'd be good to remember." She shrugged putting the cake in the oven. "Course if you prefer to judge a man by his appearance, well, I'm not one to complain...but I hope you don't wander to close to some of the villains. I've heard a few of 'em have quite the pretty face."

Jake turned a sickly color when Ruby said war hero. " I am not a war hero... if I was a lot of good men wouldn't be dead..." He said in a cold and sick way finishing his drink. " Sorry... I am trying to forget that part of my life, I wokr be hind a desk now a days." He said with a half hearted chuckle.
