The table had been set, over thrity people seemed expected. Although only two showed up LP sat down at the head of the table looking at carl. "Why so far down there? You know you could sit closer I won't bite." She said with a chuckle. "Now if I was Nar or Meep it might be a different story."
As she watched rosey serve up the food she hummed a bit pouring some wine. As she hummed she looked to carl. "How's Donna been?"

Carl shrugged and got up, walking the length of the table until he sat next to her. It was the first time he'd ever sat down with just a guardian of another velvet and it was just a bit weird for him - just as he was sure it was weird for her to be talking to a velvet, asside from Willow, without the guardian there. The bird reached up and rubbed the back of his head, hessitant with his answer. "She's been ok...She's mad at me right now, although I'm guessing that's pretty obvious..."

LP chuckled, "Ah got in a fight did you?" She said with a chuckle, of crouse she had heard about it. She thought it was a bit o' good fun.
She picked up a roll and tore a chunk off of it popping it into her mouth. "Fights are a good o' bit of fun. But you can't always go blowing off at the top o' yer head of crouse." She laughed. "I use to pick fights. Atleast before I learned fights are a bit over rated." She took some of the steak and green beans.

Yeah...right. Carl picked up a roll and munched on it a bit before setting it back down, mulling over how best to explain the situation. "It's not fun...not really......and I didn't start it you know. He hit me first, but I still got in trouble - a bit unfair if you ask me." And it was! Sure, he'd been wrong to insult Sid, and he would apologize if asked to, but he wasn't sorry, not really, for acting on his instinct. If Sid hit im again he would be hessitant, but there wasn't a chance he was going to let himself get beat up.

LP chuckled and shook her head, "Well either way if you don't like the trouble you ought not to fight." She shook her head taking up the wine she sipped.
"I don't suppose you've learned anything from it" She said her eyes narrowed curiously.

He took up the roll and took another bite of it, chewing in contemplation before delivering his answer. "I have. I've learned that I need to be more considerate about others before taking action. I DON'T like Sid. I don't get along with him. But I DO like just about everyone else...and they don't like it when I get into fights...so I need to remember that when he ticks me off so that I can make good judgement before taking action." He then finished the roll and leaned back. "I also learned that even Kings have to say they're sorry sometimes and work without complaining, because other people look to them for an example of how to behave - so as a King I should do my best."

LP chuckled, "Indeed. Although I don't think you should call yourself a King so young in you're carrer dear, prince maybe. But don't you still have a lot to learn?"
Her question was simple enough as she ate dinner looking at Carl softly and curiously.

"Maybe......it's just that you never really hear of princess doing really great things. I mean, sure, they save princesses - but it's always a King who leads a kingdom to great things and through troubled times..."

LP laughed, "Is that what they're teaching now a days? Carl you have to be a prince before you can be a King."
She shurged softly before takeing a peak at the dessert which had been covered up. "Honestly I think they ought to leave the old stories like they use to be. But they take it all out because it's too gresome for the kiddies so they change them all into Faery tales."

Great...that complicated things a bit. Carl looked up at her and inclined his head, confuzed and just a bit curious about what she meant by that. He knew how to get an answer though. "Than will you tell me an old story? The truth about where this is headed?"

Looking to Carl she smiled softly. "Ah the old stories are much too vluger for one even as old as me. Most have those deaths in them, but even more have things I doubt even Donna would appericate me telling you about." Once she finished her meal she kicked back in her chair feet on the table, not very lady like.
Thinking she was before finally she nodded, "But there is one I can tell. I know rather well, that this particular king use to own this very table." She said using a boot and kicked the leg of the table. "I met him once, Now don't go thinking I'm as old as Nara is, by far he's got me beat. This was right before the age of the true kings died. Maybe 100 years ago, if that... I've vauge recollections of it though. I've been reincarnated too many times." She said pauseing before getting up to fetch a book from the shelves. She'd managed to translate the story before she'd forgotten most of her haritage langauge.
"He was known as King Courtney the Cruel. Though they only called him Cruel because anyone that made fun of him he hung." She said matter of factly before once agian kicking back in her chair.

He inclined his head for a moment, gaze averted in thought before he turned his attentions back towards her. "Why did they make fun of him than? If they didn't want to be hung - all the had to do was stop getting him upset....granted...hanging them was a bit harsh."

LP smiled and nodded, "It was harsh, but if you'll listen to the story you'll find out." She said before looking towards the table.
"This table was one of his prized possions, but anyways. You see when King Courtney was growing up he use to have lots of animals, quite like one of the fellow's poe talks about in his stories." She paused and motioned over to the book she had been perviously reading. "He loved his animals, but there was a poor dog, after every full moon it'd have a leg or other body part missing. This went on until he only had two limbs left and one eye, he didn't have an ear and his tail was gone. He was a beautiful pup to."
Here she paused and studied for a second a bought of the next paragraph; "Anyways at the time Prince Courtney wanted to know what was happening to his dog, so one night on the full moon he followed it out of the court yard and towards a lake. There sat a woman, maybe 30 or so, she had a knife. And would cut a peace of any animal that passed by off. But when she saw Courtney she stopped. Well Courtney was almost 20 when he ran into her...." Here LP paused for a while letting things sink in.

The tale wasn't terribly grizzly - but the subtle macabre mood set behind the words slowly sank in as he listened on, and by the time that poor Courtney had gotten to the woman...well...Carl was just a bit fluffed up in anxiousness. A part of him didn't like where this was going...especially once the cold realization hit him and he looked up at her, eyes wide and beak almost hanging open, barely able to form words, but somehow managing it. "S-She...she cut off h-his...?..*whimper*"

LP laughed and shook her head, as she tried to regain her posture. "Oh no, no she didn't carl." Still grinning at what Carl had thought she hummed and found her place. "Oh yes, by this time Courtney was about 20, they both looked at each other one more faundly than the other." LP paused and shook her head trying to get Carl's thought from her own mind.
"Anyways, Courtney introduced himself and the lady replied 'I know who you are.' Simply stated Courtney was in awstruck before he found the words he ment to ask, 'Why dear lady, are you cutting my dog appart?' He had frowned at this looking towards his dog and then back to her."
"'I knew you would follow him here one day before he was dead.' She stated simply as she went on choping off peices of animals. 'What dear Mistress is you're name and why would you want me to follow Nicker?' Courtney was young and Naive. Of crouse it was to be expected of such a prince, his father gave him everything and he was waited on hand and foot; spoiled to the most possible moment."
LP paused, "Well the woman stood up and smiled aproaching the young prince. 'I wish to be you're bride.' She whispered into his ear softly, 'but first you must become king and to do that you must kill you're father.' Her words were sweet and innocent, 'Come back every full moon, then on the third full moon kill you're father and come back to me. Tell me you have done so and we shall live happy.' Of crouse there was also a price to pay with each visit. The woman took the knife and chopped one of Prince Courtney's ear off."
LP looked towards Carl, watching him.
