"So you're telling me you had died."
"Kinda."
"And that you were brought back. By Elves."
"Yep!"
"And this new kid...yenno, the one who looks my age...is with Björn."
"Got a problem with it?"
"Nope! Completely understandable."
The group now stood in the centre of town, waiting for Joe to return with the train.

"So. Everything is alright again...thank god, truly. That was scary."
"It was."
"So. You and me need to talk."
"Mm?"
"Care to fill me in about the brain-snap you had earlier?"
Crow and Julian were standing somewhat apart from the others. Julian looked down at his sister, not understanding.
"Brain snap?"
Crow's icy look made him cringe slightly.
"We'll talk more at home," she said, dismissing herself and going to stand by Liam. Julian sighed in confusion, shaking his head slightly.
"Sisters," he muttered tartly. Ethan, who was politely evading Lenore's questions about the knives, gave Julian a sympathetic look.
"You get used to it," he said. Julian laughed, shaking his head.
Unsatisfied with Ethan's evasions, Len gave up and went to go pester Hellis with her presence.

After receiving the call he had gotten from Björn earlier, Joe started up the train. He had been waiting at the warehouse with the train, to make sure he'd still have possession of it when he needed it. It had been about half an hour and the city was now coming into sight. Joe waited a few more minutes before pulling the lever back to kick on the brakes. They screamed in their rusty tone again.
He was really starting to hate that.

Hellis grinned at Len and ruffled her hair, saying nothing, as was per usual. When the train pulled in, however, he dropped to a crouch and stared up at it like a frightened puppy.
"It's just our ride," Björn nodded, laughing slightly, "Calm down."
Hellis stood slowly, eyes unwavering from the engine door.

"I don't like it much either," Len said to Hellis comfortingly.
Wandering over to Rabid, Julian looked at the train somewhat warily.
"Is it really pathetic that that thing gives me motion sickness too?" he said somewhat sheepishly.
"Yes," Crow said, eavesdropping.
"No one asked you."
"Heh."

He waited for a few minutes. Nothing. He waited a bit longer. Still no sign of them boarding the train. Lazy Bastards.
"Do I have to open the damn door for them?," he thought to himself as he started to step out of the engine car.

"Oh, jeez," Rabid laughed, "Yeah, I think that's kind of pa--"
She was cut off by an elated shriek, emanating from Hellis. The boy ran forward, leaped up onto Joe, legs around his waist and arms around his shoulders, and peppered his face with kisses.
One could assume Hellis' idea of friendliness was slightly warped.
Björn laughed slightly to himself, watching on and grinning.

"Aww," Crow said, watching Hellis. "Gods, that's cute."
Len, suddenly hungry for companionship, skittered over to Ike and hugged him on impulse.
"Hi."

Joe teetered, almost falling over from the impact of the random person jumping onto him. It felt like Liam.
Looking down, he began to try prying the person off. "What the hell's the big idea, Li-..." he stopped. He saw a familiar figure. That same raggedy hair. The same peppered face.
His eyes opened wide and his mouth just froze. This couldn't be who he thought it was. It just wasn't possible.
"No... way, you can't...be...," he rambled.

Hellis pulled back an giggled excitedly, nodding. He couldn't explain, but hey, who cared? It was Joe!
"Hi," Ike replied, hugging Len back and leaning his chin on her head, once more completely disregarding the pointy wings of doom.

Suddenly motivated by the affection going around, Crow leaned in and kissed Liam on the cheek on a whim, then proceeded to use his shoulder as an arm rest as she manifested The Picture of Dorian Gray from some hidden pocket and resumed reading.
Unfolding her wings so that they surrounded Ike, Len leaned her head against his shoulder and sighed.
"You scared the living Christ out of me, when I saw you on the end'a that rope," she said. "I thought you'd really died, for a second. So. Y'know. Thanks fer bein' alive and stuff."

Still in shock Joe just continued rambling, slaughtering the English language.
"But you... head... I can't... HELLIS?!," He exclaimed, pulling the boy close to him in a bear-hug. He just began laughing and somehow crying at the same time. Every emotion he could possibly feel right now was conflicting with each other.
But he didn't care. Hellis was alive.

Liam turned and smiled at Crow, gladly letting her use him as a pillow. Again.
"Sorry," Ike said, laughing slightly, "Thanks fer comin' fer me."
Hellis giggled again and buried his face in Joe's neck, refusing to let go.
"I figured you'd want to see him again," Björn snorted, and then pulled the nearest train car door open. He stepped inside, simply waiting for everyone else.
Rabid was put-off by the lack of attention focused on her. She huffed and grabbed Julian by the back of the head, kissing him violently for a moment before stopping and turning back to face the train, arms crossed. Hmph.

"Any time," Len said wryly, holding onto Ike's arm and tugging him along with her towards the train. "Let's get out of here."
"Nnghkf!"
Taking wholly by surprise, Julian staggered back and blinked.
"Oh! Oh, jeez, I..." he said, turning and realizing he was facing Rabid's back. Oops. He felt himself blush, heat rising very quick into his face. "Don't be mad," he pleaded. "I was trying to think of ways to keep dignity while being carsick."
Realizing this meant little to a woman who'd been temporarily dead, he scuffed a shoe at the ground like a kid, tapping her shoulder and leaning next to her, looking sorry.

"I don't know how... but I'm so happy you're alive," he said to Hellis. He softly patted the him on the head and quickly kissed his forehead.
"You should get into the train, we should be getting you all out of here. I can't drive with you on me," he laughed. He pulled Hellis in close for one more hug. Joe turned towards the car, facing directly at Björn and nodded.
"You can forget about owing me a smoke," he said, just smiling.
