The wind blew again, a sigh was released as Laguna pounced, sailing through the air his arms drawn over his head with the tip of a sword aiming down with intent to strike the center of his shadow, acting like the bullseye on a target.
The only warning was the sound of awkward silence and the feeling of a moments hesitation.

Madison could only gulp, she could hear the quiet sigh that came from the grass, now the question was where. She quickly began to move even faster. She stumbled slightly as she began to scare herself.
WHAM!
She had then tripped over one of her loose laces, breaking it apart. Her ears had toppled over her face causing her face to be covered for a few moment. Sighing, she began to fix her hair out of position.

Laguna hesitated at the last moment, withdrawing his sword, he landed at the woman's feet, his awe taking control of his current ambition.
"What the..." he mumbled at first, "What the hell are you doing wearing those ears crouched down in tall grass like this all alone, are you crazy or somethin'?" His voice was soft, young, but firm and still recovering from shock. He stood only about as tall as she was sitting down.

As an instant reaction she wiped out her two sais from the inside of her jacket and pointed them at him. She was ready for anything, with her paws shaking nervously. He startled her.
"DON'T COME ANY CLOSER! OR OR OR....Er....." She swung it back in forth wildly and then slowed down to a halt as she couldn't think of a good enough threat. Her ears slowly made there way to the upright position they had been in earlier, hanging above the grass once more.
She had then lowered her weapons onto her lap and continued to think. When he asked about the ears, she smiled slightly. Then frowned when he asked if she were crazy.
"They are my ears!" She sniffled quietly and hugged them tightly, she loved her ears. Even though they caused her more problems half the time. But she still loved them.

Laguna frowned in a way that pointed a finger at the human race for centuries of disappointment. "Foolish human girl, don't mock me with your lies and metal rods," he said tapping his blade to one of her sai, unimpressed with her flailing. "Take those damn things off now," he said, grabbing at one of her ears.

"Let Go of my ear!" She screamed rather loudly, she really wasn't in the mood to get her ears tugged on today. She firmly grabbed onto his wrist and tried to get him to let go, only to have the sensation of being pulled on, she winced madly as he didn't seem to want to let go.
"LetgoLetgoLetgoLetgoLetgoLetgoLetgoLetgoLetgoLetgoLetgoLetgoLetgoLetgoLetgoLetgoLetgoLetgo!" again, she began to flail, she really desired to get him to let go. Her arms going wildly everywhere, along with her legs. Kicking softly up in down, only wanting for him to let go.

Seeing he obviously wasn't being fooled, he grew more curious about the young woman's ears and pulled more firmly on the other. "I've never seen such a thing."

"OW" Her scream echoed through the plain, the people in Latent could most likely hear it. And unfortunately for the strange man, Madison swung her leg from underneath her and kicked him. Not on purpose of course, but out of the reflex. However, with the amount of force she used. It would be enough to send him flying backwards a bit, with a nice bruise in the morning. Madison held her ear softly and held it. That really hurt. She then looked towards the direction of the little man and quickly began to apologize. After all, she didn't mean to do it on purpose. "I'm so sorry! That was an accident!"

The boy's eye widened and his sword left his hands, he had felt a force like a sledge hammer crashing into his stomach. His muscles reflected what they could, but the force was still enough to send his breath from his lungs and back out into the world and his little body flying backwards back into his stuff; little sparks crackled as the breath exited his lungs. Laguna took to his feet as fast as he could, struggling still to find his breath, and even harder not to whine in front of her.
He breathed in, the static from his clothing crackled furiously with the humming from the small horns that adorned his crown, but on the way back out he couldn't help but release all he had stored and in a single breath and thundering clap, let a bolt of lightening from his mouth that shot above the head and between the ears of the woman and into the sky.
The crackling stopped and he fell to his knees, clenching his gut. Determined, maybe for no reason other than not to feel weak, he forced himself back to his feet.
"Sorry? For what?" he began, still holding his stomach, "You fight like a human," his breathing had regulated.

Madison quickly stammered up to her feet, she was quite a lot taller than the man. She was about to go help him back up to his feet, but once he seemed ready to attack her. She knew, this wasn't a time to go play games. Her hands quickly grabbed a hold of her sais that had now been located onto the ground.
"Well I was apologizing for kicking you..." Madison's voice still was sounding as sincere as before, but now it was very cautious. She began to move very slowly as her grip tightened on her sais. She could feel the blood rushing through her veins, or it could have been fear. But whatever it was, she wasn't allowing him to see it.
"It was an accident."

Laguna felt partially at fault, and it wasn't entirely in his natural to be unforgiving when the first apology had already been given to him.
"Don't worry about it," he began, his voice a little raspy, but clearing with each new word, "Curiosity and hunger got the best of me." Bringing up his stomach made it growl again, this time hurting his stomach, but he'd been more interested in the girl. "What are you?" He was blunt.

She then put her hands on her hips with her left hip cocked out as she began to think of the best explanation for her without being too forward. Nothing really came to mind. She then figured she might as well state the obvious.
"I'm a human, crossed with a rabbit...genetically." It was the best idea she could come up with. She then had slided her sais in her red jacket where it's sheaths dangled freely inside it. She then looked at him and smiled.
"So who are you?"

He got an easier look on his face, but one that seemed to share the pain of not being able to control who you were born to be, "Wow, I'm sorry. Of all the things to be crossed with, a human, almost seems a shame to ruin such a perfectly good rabbit."
He was one of those guys you probably would find wandering the plains alone. "My name is Laguna. What're you doing out here all alone, Rabbit-girl?"

"I do have a name you know," She folded her arms across her chest and then looked at him. She was beginning to become tired of hearing the human bashing, but she wasn't too sure on why he spoke about them so cruelly, after all. She was a human originally before.
"I was looking for some dinner. And what about yourself, Hmmmmmmmmmm?" She cocked her eyebrow now as well. She grinned wildly now and giggled as she was beginning to amuse herself. She was an odd child.

Laguna put his sword back into its scabbard while dragging his stuff next to her and sitting down with an enthused smile on his face, "Really? What does a rabbit call herself," he asked in a kind and curious tone, as generally only found in children-- or men who were masking the loss in interest in the women they started talking to*.
He cracked a fresh carrot in two and added in an affable tone, "Wont you join me in a snack as we chat?"
His books had taught him much.
*I promise it's not the latter. ;P
