Heather smiled thankfully at Susa and rushed over to Kala.

"Kala stop it!" She managed to grab the back of her neck. Green eyes looked up at her not feeling exactly happy.

"Look stop running away, we have to stay together, silly girl!" She sighed and pulled her over to Susa and Amkia. Heather tightened her grip on the leopard.

As expected the sight of Amkia made Kalas fur stand on end, not from fear but of anger. She hissed and growled and would have pounced at him if Heather hadn't been holding her.

Amkia, hid behind Susa.

Susa was shocked. She looked around to where Amkia had ducked. "Oh, little one, come out... I'm sure your sister won't... hurt you." She said the last words somewhat tentatively.

An hour passed as DeArca sat down, sighing, tired from walking. He reached in his pack, pulling out his Tellbook as he opened it, flipping the pages. "Hey...it responded. Look, Ash" he asked and Ash squeaked, jumping on the book. DeArca read....becoming entirely confused. "Its her...but its not her? Not woman or object...but both? What is this....that doesn't make sense?" he asked, wanting to write again, but his pen was gone. "Darn, the Tellbook must be unable to respond again....I'll have to wait later. But lets ask where the....Shallow White Basins are" He said, walking away to a priest. "Excuse me, sir...where is the shallow white basins?"

The priest gave the man a disgusted look. He was not so patient as the others. "I am busy with the Candidates, young man. Besides- the wine... which you may have only out of our generousity," he spat out the word, "won't be brought out until we reach the gardens."

"Now," the priestess said, glad that the woman drank the concoction. She'd be much easier to manage, now. "You're not going to be such a hard little nut to crack will you?" She took her arm again and led her with the flow of the crowd.

Caroline smiles inanely, a change for the innocent from her normal wry grin. "I'm already about as cracked as ye get," she says.

Rojiza tightens her grip on her mother's hand and vows not to drink anything offered her. Honestly, adults are so stupid.

Being summoned by the priestess a girl ran over and smiled to both Caroline and the priestess. She looked at Caroline and smiled sweetly at her, "Would you like something to keep the sun off your face? I have this thing here somewhere, I got it in a trade from a women in Mulden. Here take it, you look as if you could use it more then me."

She fiddled behind her and then handed it over to Caroline, "You may keep it, I don't really need it." She smiled as she handed over something very pink looking that could shield her from the sun.

Irina couldn't help but laugh aloud. "Rydell is quite a cryptic bird. I always get the most severe messages, and they never turn out to be as dramatic as I think they're going to be," she laughed, a blush rising to her cheeks. "Why I've never heard of White Fire before! That's good information to know I think. I wonder if Kal will like typical Marsh food.

Is Corman from the Marsh as well?" she asked, curious. As a frog, she thought it was highly possible. "Well then, I'll just have to ask, won't I? My, that was far easier than I thought it would be!" She giggled again, and looked over her shoulder to see her priestess not far away. The woman seemed to be watching her closely. "Well thank you for the information Mr. Crick. I do appreciate it." Irina patted his shoulder and Kal lifted a paw at him, as if to wave. "We should swap stories sometime. I'm sure your caravan is busy all the time, just like ours."

Corman answered before his father did. "No, I'm from the Ash Plains. I know. Strange place for a frog, right?" He smiled his best 'Frog Prince' smile, but his father just nodded and told the woman that she was welcome, so Corman fell silent.

"You're very welcome. And any time, m'lady. We of the HoneyBlossom are always at your disposal."

Heather smiled, "Like I said, they have the best relationship ever!" There was nothing but sarcasm in her voice.

She continued to hold Kala back and Amkia continued to stay hidden. "They will get over it."

That the Candidate asked questions seemed to please the man, for the color in his cheeks, as covered as they were in his white marks, was healthy and happy, and he smiled to the foodbearers as they passed, as if to say "look at her", this one I have here.

"The Spirit is only intangible before it chooses. Or perhaps it does not choose- perhaps it's known all along who is meant to be its mother. It's not for us to know. But in any case, once it is one with its mother, it is like any other infant... and is born... and lives, and grows almost liken to any other child. And yes," he said, his voice as before, "it's no secret, that is why so many different sorts of women gather in the gardens. So that whatever it seeks... there it shall be."

Listening attentively as her questions were answered, Mirela’s expression was serious and studious as she pieced together and comprehended all the information that she was receiving. It was all incredibly fascinating, and surpassed any expectations and previous notions she had held about the world of magic and religion - especially when Mulden’s religious practices hadn’t yielded much in terms of spirits and other such phenomenon. “Why is the Spirit so important to the Sect and to you?” Mirela uttered softly, wondering not only about the importance of the Spirit to the Sect but to the priest itself. “Have you always been here, born into this life and the service of the Spirit? Or was it something that you chose for yourself?”

"Nnn" He panicked when the priest gave that nasty look and DeArca backed off. He sat down by his lonesome and closed his eyes. "I'm sorry..." He muttered. If he didn't calm down, then this wouldn't be a pleasant experience.....he had to wait. "Hey Ash, come here" He asked and Ash snuck out of DeArca's pack, a mouth full of berries as he squeaked. "Good boy" he said, pulling out a block of wood and started carving.

"By finding and completing an Icarus Protectorate TriRune," he explained, drawing even a mite closer. "It's a long, dashing tale of questing and valor... and more luck than was due me, I'm sure," he laughed. "But it's not quite so interesting as you, Lady Gwynna."
Gwynna laughed as well, green eyes glinting. "You flatter me, sir. I'm not so intriguing as you might think, and certainly not what most would call a 'lady'!"

She'd never considered herself particularly interesting, and she had definitely not been quite respectable.

"The Ash Plains you say? Well that is a strange place for a frog to come from! Odd. Well, it looks like your father has taken great care of you. I hope to see you both again sometime. Thank you so much for your help!

Now, I must get going. White Fire calls!" With that, Irina adjusted Kal in her arms and waved at Corman and Crick. She then turned and headed back to her priestess, who was still keeping a close eye on her.

"Miss, do you think you could call a food bearer over for me? I'm looking for something for my daughter. White Fire is what it's called. It seems to be something she may like." She gave the woman an appreciative nod, hoping this firey treat would be easy to find. Just like her transformation from pendant to badger, Kalpana had to be brought from her current state with something rather shocking. She couldn't help but think that the little girl liked things to be difficult.

"Oh!" says Caroline brightly. "Thank ye, miss!" She puts the parasol (though it looks as if it would serve in rain as well as shine) over her shoulder and twirls it around a bit, completely unaware that the bright pink stands out among the clear white.

Rojiza narrows her eyes at the parasol her mother holds. She senses something special about it. She nods to herself. If nothing else, she'd make the lovely thing part of her horde.

He seemed surprised by the question... but not angered. He stopped in his step for the first time, but it was a momentary falter, and then he was back to his gentle leading through the crowd. "Well... my mother was a priestess, so I suppose I was sort of born into this world. But the choice was my own, to follow the White Magic. It is the purest in this world, and the most beautiful. I'm blessed to be able to be in the service of the White Magic, and the Spirit that will draw even more of it into the world." He brushed his fingers gently along Mirela's arm. "And you are blessed, as well, for being here, and being in this presence."

Keeping hold of Kala, Heather looked around. "What do you want to do now Susa? If you don't mind I would like to hang around with you a bit more. I don't have much else to do and my friends could be... anywhere." She smiled and looked at Amkia who was getting a little more bold and coming out of hiding.

There was a surprise, and even a sort of sadness behind his green eyes. He did not come any closer to her- but lowered his voice into a husky, emotional whisper that would seem like he was right upon her, whispering in her ear.

"I call any woman a lady who posesses of her such grace... beauty... and the kindness of a mother. You are a Lady, Gwynna. And I do not know how intriguing you are to others. I only know my own mind."

"Anything, of course." She whistled a tune to a Food Bearer and watched as he came nearer.
