Hi, My name's Liz, I'm 17 years old, and have a daughter, Kyra, who is a year old this June. I fell pregnant shortly after starting college, which I had to quit, but managed to find something else to do, and gained some recognizable certificates. I know a lot of people are against young parents, but we're not all the same, and a lot of us do go on to get education and a well paid job. I should know, I've spoken with a nurse who was my age when she had her first. And, well, I just told you what she's achieved smile
I never got a secondary school education, reasons I'd rather not talk about, but if you really want to know, a polite PM to me and I'll tell you. It helps get it off my chest when I think about the past. What I will say, is I ended up dropping out of two different secondary schools. I regret it, but I wouldn't turn back the clock if I could. I'm due to start an eight week computer course at the end of this month, and Kyra's dad will look after her for me to do that. I plan on working, at least until Kyra is at school, so I can then go back to education and do something I would really love to do; Childcare with the under eights. So yeah, as much as my own child is a pain at times (I mean, c'mon, what child isn't a pain from time to time? And some never grow out of it wink )I would love to work with young children, or at least in a school environment as a secretary.
So those are my ambitions. My hobbies and interests are writing poetry and lyrics, listening to music, internetting and being addicted to Gaia (I forget to check my mail sometimes I'm on so much wink ) I enjoy playing with my daughter, who in turn enjoys playing with the working keyboard (So any extras, not my fault) I also enjoy the few hours a week she's at nursery that I have some quality time with partner and father of our daughter. (He feels left out sometimes *sign saying aww appears*) I've got him addicted to Gaia as well, which makes a nice change from him constantly being on his Text-based RolePlaying game.
Um... Can't really think of anything else to say here. I think I've said more than enough as it is anyway. If you want to know anything else about me, random PM's are more than welcome smile But don't be rude domokun
*Signs this post with a lob of butter and choccy spread*

Hey guys, I'm Meta. Some of the older guild members here may remember me from the name Girl Anachronism. I was forced to leave due to stalking issues, but I believe that they will no longer be a problem, and I've decided to rejoin, as this is my favourite guild. And it was my first one too. 4laugh
I have a daughter named Kylie...she's about 17 months (she'll be 18 months on the 22nd). She's full of energy and life and never lets anything get dull. At least she's currently in a cleaning phase...throwing things away, wiping tables, putting away toys, and even wearing a precious little lace apron. 4laugh
I am 20 years old now, and I am a single parent. Ky's father (some of you may remember when he stirred up quite a lot of trouble in the guild) has since decided that his only obligation lies in smoking pot all day. We haven't spoken since October of '05, when I told him to either stop lying (he was promising child support that never came), or to stop talking. He chose the latter.
I'm currently researching legal routes, and if anyone has any helpful information, or even just positive words of encouragement, please PM me. ;3
As for just me as a person, I'm a pretty laid back, happy, whatever-will-be-will-be type person. As long as I've got the people who matter to me in my life, I feel pretty amazing. Some people think I'm a bit "intimidating" before they talk to me, but most people say that I'm cool once you know me, so don't be scared. sweatdrop
Right now, I'm currently unemployed, but I'm looking for work while my father lets me stay with him. I think he's getting a bit antsy, so everyone wish me luck!
I'll leave you guys with a couple pictures, and say that I'm so glad to be back in this guild. whee

biggrin Hello to all. My name is Denise and I seem to be the oldest person here. I am 40 and have 2 teenage daughters, 18 and 16. My son who is 14 lives in Washington with his father and got me started on Gaia so that we could interact outside of our visits and phone calls. I live in CA and am in my third year working for my BS in Business Admin. I currently work as a Medical Claims Auditor for a pathology group, but eventually dream of working for the Blood Source; a non-profit organization. I enjoy making a difference in the world, reading and watching old movies. My life is now stretched between work, school and family. I bet you all can relate somehow. Parenting is definitley an adventure in personal growth. I look forward to interacting with you all.

Okay introductions!
My name is Trena, but everyone online calls me Rini, and I'll answer to that better.
I'm almost 30 (sometimes I feel SO old!) my birthday is actually on Tuesday!
I have been married twice .. I have four beautiful children, all with my ex-husband, ages 13, 10, 9 and 6. My 13 year old is the one that actually dragged me into Gaia!
My second husband (current and LAST) is quite a bit younger then I am (21) but is a much better father then my children's biological father!
I'm really glad to have ran into this group as I felt like I had to be the strangest person around being a mom and being on Gaia!
I can't wait to get into this group and just .. talk!

hello everyone and thanks for accepting me into your guild. im not only new to this guild but new to gaia in general so you'll have to bear with me if i get confused or whatever!
i am a 22 year old mum of 2. i recently seperated from my husband so i guess i am now a single mum of 2. my little boy josh is 3 in july and my little girl charlie is one on the 1st of june (she stole my birthday!!!)
i live in the UK, midlands. i have my mom and dad close by (although not together) and they support me when they can.
i had to give up my degree when my marriage broke up last year so my plan is to go to university in september to do a psychology degree, with the intention of going into either child or abnormal psychology when im finished.
i love reading, everything from classic novels, to essays, to critical theories and trashy holiday books!! i also love my music - im a bit of an indie rock chick at heart but lost my sense of self a lot after having the kids and its only since i have been single ive been able to being clawing that back. i love early ninties indie and britpop, i also love some harder rock like SOAD and i like the bloodhound gang and emo and punk music. i also like chilled out stuff like the magic numbers and dashboard confessional - in case you hadent noticed i really really REALLY love my music!
my favourite thing to do with my me time is to go out with all my firends on a friday night to a good rock club and just dance all night!
now see i really have gone on a bit! - i would love to have more moms to talk to, especially those who can relate to the being young and/or single.
take care everyone smile

Hi!
I'm 18, and not a mother, but I work in childcare, and hope to have children someday. (With my current boyfriend, whom I've known for over 4 years, we're planning on marriage in 5 and a half or so... we're both total romantics, and love planning things). I saw the pregnancy/childbirth thread, and was happy that people were debunking the myths.
I actually had a pregnancy scare a few months ago, when I was using condoms for birth control, and my period was known to skip...
I guess... I joined because I love kids. Heck, after my mom died, I helped raise my little brother! So... I do have a bit of "parenting" experience...
*feels like I've rambled enough*
So... yeah...

I am Lizzy and I am also a "40 something" parent. I was the first in the family to find my way to Gaia, and eventually I managed to entice my two youngest (aged 16 and 9) into giving it a try. This was only fair since three years ago they got me hooked on a *certain* virtual pet site rofl Look forward to meeting people in the guild, and I am very aproachable, so feel free to say hello or what not. (oh, and I found the guild by following a link in Badloki's siggy)

Sao, father (don't believe the avatar; gender issues are fun) of a brand-spankin'-new little girl as of 2/17/06. My wife and I are in our mid-20s, and we currently live in the deep South in the US. Current issue: what username to give the kid until she's old enough to choose one for herself; we're tweaky and have issues with using her name online. sweatdrop

Hi! smile I'm Kim, I'm kinda new to Gaia, and new to the guild here. I'm so glad to see that there are spots for adults and parents on Gaia too.
I'm a semi-single mom, semi-single meaning I was married, but now I'm not, and I have a serious relationship going on, but I'll never marry again. Too much stress for me.
I have 4 children - Chelsea is 8, Nicol is 7, Ceightlynn is 5 and Brianna is 2. Chelsea's with my mom, she was adopted when she was 5 months old. Nicol was placed for adoption at birth (abusive father - long story short, it was for her protection and safety). Ceightlynn and Brianna are full sisters from my ex-husband, and they live with me. That's a whole other rant though.
Currently I'm a working mom, though I'd rather be a SAHM. I was for a while, but a family of 3 can't survive off of nothing. I work in customer service (who doesn't in some way or another?), I do tech and billing support on contract for the company I work for. It's a lot of fun. biggrin
If there's anything else you'd like to know, feel free to ask!
