(( eek How'd you know I chose his left side to appear on?))
"Then why do you do it?" Durithill asked, though he did not really expect an answer. "It is odd that you have chosen this profession, but if you don't like it stop."

"Tradition." He replied, though he was only half telling the truth. "I am also repaying my sins... or trying to at least.." He mumbled lowly, completing the entire truth. With a small sigh passing his lips, Lucifer leaned his head back against the building. "What are you doing up so late anyway? Shouldn't you be making sure you're girlfriend is safe and sound?" He teased lightly, only trying to change the subject. He hated talking about his career, for, it linked to his past.

"I already slept all I need to recover my energy." Durithill said, leaning back against the wall. He sighed as he continued to stare out into the darkness. "Besides, I trapped her door. She'll be fine." he said in a joking voice.

""Trapped"?" Lucifer questioned him with an arched brow which was followed by a half-hearted chuckle. "Does she know this?" He asked in question. "Could you do the same for Elizabeth's door, y'know..." He asked him, somewhat seriously but jokingly at the same time.

"It's not easy to detect, and if you want me to I could." Durithill said, his tone becoming almost business-like. "Or I could teach you one."

Lucifer looked back up at him, as if almost confused.. teach him? "You would?" Lucifer questioned him, with a wry grin plastered across his lips. "That could be useful for the future.." He pondered inwardly, stroking his thumb over his clean chin.

Elizabeth had just reached the stairs, she quickley ran down them, and through the front door of the inn. She turned to her right, spotting two figures. Lucifer.. and someone she didn't recognize, seeming as it was quite dark out. She listened as they spoke, lowering her head as Lucifer remarked about his work. It was most likely her fault he now hated his work, she was causing him too much trouble. She didn't want to interupt them, but she need to apologize for being such a burden to him. Still crying, she slowly approached the two, clearing her throat as if to announce she was there. ' Lucifer...' She kept her head down, not wishing him to see her tears.

Hearing his name being called, Lucifer turned his head to the right. He left his eyes resting on Elizabeth for a moment before turning back to his position before, lowering his head. "Go to bed.." he commanded. "If you go to bed now, I'll forget about what happened tonight... deal?" He said, creating more of a fatherly figure instead of a protector. "Now.. go to sleep and don't argue with me about it..."

She raised her head, the moonlight reflecting off her tears. ' Alright..' She spoke quite softly. ' I- I just wanted to say .. I'm sorry for being such a burden to you. You may leave me if you wish, I don't want to cause you any greif. I'll be going now...' She turned around, half expecting him to stop her and half expecting him not to care. She began to sob again, and quickley ran inside the inn. She had only got to the stairs before she collapsed on them crying.

"Pehaps now is not the time to teach you..." Durithill said as Elizabeth ran inside crying. "I think it'd be best if I just did it today and you... patch things up with your employer..." And with this statement he disappeared into the shadows. "If you want to get back in your room, press the knothole in the door." his voice said in Lucifer's head.

Lucifer sighed as Elizabeth ran insode of the inn in tears. "Yeah..." He said aloud, replying to Durithill. "...Thanks.." Standing up, Lucifer turned towards the door after Elizabeth. Closing the door softly behind him, Lucifer headed up the stairs quietly, inwardly promising not to get angry with the young girl... Strolling down the hallway, He closed his eyes and inwardly promised himself not to yell or gat angry with her.. it would only frighten her. Approaching her door, he did as he was told and pressed the knothole with his index fingers before twisting the brass doorknob and pushing the door open. There he found her weeping on the bed, from his own mistakes.. With a gentle, silent sigh, Lucifer approached her, lowering his body beside her. "...Don't cry.." He whispered, taking her shoulder and pulling her towards his bare chest. Hopefully she would accept his aid.. that was what he was there for.. The mercenary wrapped both of his strong arms around the frail ruler. "I don't abandon a job.." He said to her, reassuringly, "so you're going to be getting that home you wanted.. away from your father.."

Elizabeth gasp as the large man pulled her close to him. She kept crying, unable to hold back the tears. She kept still, frozen you would say. ' Lucifer.. I'm sorry. ' She tried to pull away from the man. ' I don't mean to cause you so much trouble..' She was speaking quite softly, inbetween her sobs.

Luficer hardly felt her struggling, instead he only thought of it as her moving about to get comfortable, so he ingored the gentle shoves. "You are causing me no grief at all.." He replied, giving her back a gentle pat. "You're only crying over lack of sleep.." He mentioned, being sly about his words, trying to get her to rest. They needed to get up fairly early in the morning, and it was already about two in the morning. "This is all over the bed.. please just get some rest.." He said to her before continuing. "You're a woman, you need to be as comfortable as you can, even if it requires me to sleep sitting up."

Elizabeth calmed down and stopped moving. ' Please, Lucifer.. I may be a women, but I feel horrible for making you sleep there.' She thought for a second. ' We could share the bed? I do not wish for you to spend anymore money.' She hadn't thought about what she just said, and didn't really think it was inappropriate.

Lucifer froze. Share? "..." He hadn't replied to her for sometime. His arms remained wrapped around her for merely support. "That--" He began, cutting himself off. "..Is highly inappropriate.." He said aloud but in a low tone. "Please do not contridict me and just... get some rest." He said to her, his voice flat. He pulled her away from his chest and placed his hand on the side of his face, staring down at her for a moment before drying her tears with his tumb. "Please, just go to sleep."
