The man twisted to the side and shot three bullet in her direction. Each one wizzed passed her, one aimed right at her shoulder.
"Nice trick, your aim is pretty good. But I'm trained to be ready for all possibilities. Well, I mean some." He laughed and shook his head. Even he knew that that was impractical. Then again, maybe it wasn't. He wasn't to sure, actually.

Rain ducked down behind another log. Oh, dear. I hope he didn't see me! she prayed in her mind. She boosted herself up just ever so slightly and peeked over the log at the fray that was commencing.

Senturi, who had been still until now, suddenly pointed his guns at the man. Kayako crossed her arms and got ready to dodge any new attack. The irony however, was hilarious.

The cockpit seal abruptly hissed, cracking as rain departed, like some watchfull eye of someone who's prentending to sleep.
Gray glanced out of it, watching Rain walk away. turning back to the controlls, he sighed heavily. promises...since when did Xelien play fair? That rat was hiding something, most likely something bad.
Could he bring himslef to grasp that?
No. It was all shocking, but to let go of this hope for returning to his former state would be devestating; a lifetime committed to the insane wiles of the Inverse driver....
Rain's questions hung in his head: why did suddenly feel like pushing everyone away? He already admitted to himself that freinds where what he wanted; no matter how much he denied it....
Yet, that dark vioce in his head kept poising his thoughts...
The vivid image of him tearing apart Senturi and Eden loomed up in his head;
Mercury's bloody frame standing in a menacing pose over two mangled hulks that contained lifeless pilots; both eyes like buring flames....
No!
Gray jerked back from this cataclysmic possibility; a disturbing mental simulation, but...
No matter what he did, could he really run away from the day when he failed to contain the Driver's power? or would he kill everything in sight?
Worse, Would kayako reach this as well, and drag them both down into the inferno?
Rain...Kayako... I don't won't to hurt anyone. I can't get close...
Gray's expression changed to a supressed wince; the inverse driver was glowing, lighting up a section of his shirt with a errie purple miasma....
why?

Oh, garbage! Rain said in her mind as she looked out over the log. I have to get out of here, I'm no good in a fight! She stopped for a moment, remembering the incident back at the Foundation. She shook the thought out of her head and decided just to watch the fight that was sure to happen. If Kayako got in trouble, Rain would try and help anyway she could.

"Oh that does it!!! Are you just going to stand there?? YOUR PATHETIC!!! DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE!!!"
Senturi's arm swept down and picked her up....just as the guns fired. All was aimed at the now small man with the tiny gun, who looked like he wasn't even aware.
Kayako didn't wait. Standing near her LFO's head, she gave the silent command to aim the shoulder cannons. Seeing the scene, she couldn't help but laugh. She couldn't see him through the smoke. If he wasn't dead already, this would finish him.
"That's what you get for trying to hurt me...now DISAPPEAR!!!"
The sound of gunfire shot through the air, echoing off trees even loud enough to reach their camp site.

Medri's eye widen, all he could hear was the sound of gun fire, and not just small arms. "Man everyone wants this girl!" He looked over at Asuka as she laid there out cold, that had to be a bad way to sit. He moved her body a bit more so she would be a little more comfy and he also was looking for any wounds she might have suffered... It would be akward if she woke up right now...

Vick was pretty much vaporized... Poor guy, he never kissed a girl. And Jack, who was his next door neighbor, owed him ten bucks. So many things left undone, and all he has to say for it, is a nice little crater in the ground.

Rain stared in shock at the scene. Noticing the cannons being blasted, she quickly ducked behind the log once more, protecting herself from any debris coming her way.
"Somehow, I think Kayako can handle this on her own..." she said to herself, huddling up in a ball.

"Too....easy...." Kayako stood on her LFo watching the smoke clear. Inwardly, she felt a little pange of guilt about what she had just done, but she chose not to show it. Besides, that guy had obviously wanted to kill them. Or worse...take them back to the foundation.
Sighing, she had Senturi lower her to the ground. As she jumped down, she headed towards Silence, careful to aviod the spot where Vic's body SHOULD have been.....
There were still things to be done.
"Medri..?" she blinked as she looked inside. "What in heaven's name are you doing?"

Rain poked her head out from behind her log. Seeing that the confrontation had died down, she hoped over the log by swinging over it with her hand as an anchor.
She cautiously walked past the smoldering crater and jogged up to Kayako once she passed it. "Where's the pilot we're saving?" she asked before noticing Medri.

Medri pulled back his staff from almost hitting Kayako with it,But he still held it ready to smack her if she pulled a gun. "Your not goingto kill her?!" He was defencive again and crouched like a snake ready to lash out. "As for what I Am doing, I am protecting her duh!"

Kayako sighed and closed her eyes.
"NO, we're not gonna kill her....she hasn't tried to kill us or anything yet...."
She sat down, knowing she couldn't get to the girl until he cleared the way.
"We're just gonna take her back to the camp and patch her up....She'll be fine as long as she doesn't do anything really harmful, okay?"
Not like she could anyways. The red-haired girl was out cold still, meaning her inguries were pretty bad. Not life-threatening, but enough that she would have trouble hurting anyone there.

"Well perfect!" He retracted his staff then moved around a bit more inside the cockpit and carefully got Asuka out. "So where is your camp?" He slowly looked around and then smiled at Kayako while holding Asuka. "don't think I am going through all this trouble to just hand her over to you.. and besides I want to take a closer look at your LFO's."

"You even TOUCH Senturi and you'll be a pile of dust!" she crossed her arms. "However...feel free to poke around the silver one at camp. Honestly, I'll give ya ten bucks if you can get the pilot to come out!"
She looked to Rain, then back at Medri. There sure were some strange people around Del Cielo right now....
"Ok everyone, camp is this way!"
And with that, she started walking, careful to jump over the smudge that was once a man. Camp was only about 300 yards away, so it wouldn't take long. in fact, after a very moments they were already almost there.
