After another ten minutes of walking Jericho sat down under a tree.
"This place didnt seem like it would be so big...I would have brought some of that food with me if I knew it would take so long."
He looked around to see if there was anything he could eat but didnt see anything.
"This place just keeps getting worse and worse." He said as he pushed himself back to his feet and continued walking.

After walking another ten minutes Jericho tripped and fell in the mud. He let out a quick yell of frustration and pushed himself up and walked out of the mud.
"I hate this place so much!" he yelled as he wiped the mud off of his arms and shirt. "The sooner I get out of here the better."
He looked around having forgot where had just came from. He closed his eyes and held out his hand and pointed while spinning. When he stopped and opened his eyes he had decided on which direction to go next.

After another ten minutes of mindless wondering Jericho got frustrated and punched a tree.
"How long must I wonder in the dark and gloomy place before I can just meet with this 'Mistress' person."
He looked around seeing nothing but fog a trees and sat down. "This place is so horribly depressing, why would my father send me here." He lowered his head but quickly pushed himself up.
"Because he wants me to tuff through this, I can do this, I can become a man." and with that Jericho continued on.

After walking for another ten minutes Jericho saw his own footprints heading in the same direction he was.
"So I went in a circle huh...well I guess now I know that going this way wont help me. He said as he turned off from his tracks.
"Now lets just hope this way leads me to where am I supposed to go and not the opposite way."

After another ten minutes Jericho began to feel like this was pointless. He sat down again and rubbed his feet, which were bleeding from all the twigs he had been stepping on.
"Is there no end to this....how long does this take...."
He let out a deep breath and scanned his surroundings again.
"Well I dont think I have been here before so.....why give up now."
He stood up and stretched his legs and continued on his way. He would find Mistress, even if it took him years.

After a full hour of searching Jericho finally found the Kages office. He ran to it and went into the door and ran up the stairs towards her office only to be stopped by a guard.
What is your business, and how did you get here child."
Jericho just looked at the man.
"What is your name kid?"
"Jericho Ericsson."
"Oh alright, your the new kid, ok, go on in, the Kage has just finished up a meeting."
Jericho entered the Kages office and waited to be spoken to.

Yet another kid entered her office and Mistress sighed exaggeratedly before turning to him.
"So, are you another prospective student?" she asked, a little annoyed. "Genin or student?"
There had been a dearth (I hope that means what I think it means..) of people randomly appearing at her office lately and frankly Mistress was a little sick of it. However she had to accept it since she was Kage and all. But frankly, was it too much to ask for some alone time with Denkou?

Jericho scratched the back of his head like he normally did when he was confused, nervous or embarrassed. "ummm, whats a Genin, and ummm am I student of what?"
Jericho had never been more confused in his life, he didnt really even know what was going on anymore.

Mistress' knight, Haru, slowly entered his queen's office with his head hung low and his body lightly battered. He entered and knelt refusing to look in the eyes of his queen, he was too ashamed. "Forgive me my lady. I have returned empty handed. I have no excuse no matter what the circumstances were. Please, I beg you to allow me to redeem myself for my failure." Haru pleaded.

Karite followed in shortly after Haru with a smile on his face and a nail in his hands. Just encase something went wrong. "It seems that we were bested by a cloud ninja. I apologize as well. So once again it looks like I am empty handed when it comes to a team, but if you forgive me their are some items I must retrieve from one of the islands in Kiri." Karite waited for a reply cloaking his laughter quite well.

Mistress blinked. Ignoring the boy temporarily for a while, she took some documents and began to read them. Somehow, despite being an evil dictatress there was no end of people wanting to do business deals with her and papers had already started to pile up. She reached for her feather quill and was about to sign with a flourish when the door opened again and Haru entered. And then Karite entered. What they said was less than pleasing.
"Am I supposed to believe that two elite shinobi, one jounin, one somewhere higher than that, were bested by a Cloud shinobi?" she screeched. "Cloud? CLOUD! Wait a second..." Toning down her voice she turned to Denkou. "Would you know anything about that, Denkou-chan?" Then she turned back to the two men and continued her tirade. "For God's sake! Kumogakure is under a pile of snow right now! Cloud shinobi are scattered and disorganised, and you were bested in home territory?" Taking a deep breath Mistress tried to steady herself. "Haru will follow you to the island," she told Karite coldly. "No false moves. Or Haru will really kill you. What items are they?
"And for heaven's sake Batou get yourself up here and attend to this boy!!" she shouted, exasperated, after pressing the intercom.
This was directed at the poor receptionist downstairs who proceeded to put whatever he was doing down and hurry up to the office. Opening the door carefully the mild bespectacled man met Jericho's eyes before beckoning him to follow him downstairs.

Karite looked up with anger. The forbidden island was only for ANBU of Kiri and no one else had step foot on it since the legendary swordsmen so many years ago. "I have to collect the headbands of my fallen comrades and give them a proper burial Wolvine style. There is no need for Haru to come. It will be a simple task and then i will return to the village with no hostile feelings." Karite said hoping she would honor the request. It was something he had to do alone.

Jericho looked down at the floor when the yelling began and stood there awkwardly. When he was told to follow Batou he picked his head up and said aloud before leaving.
"...Sorry for being such trouble..." and then quickly dropped his head again and followed Batou.
He felt like even though this was his first day in the village, and he hadn’t really gotten to know anyone, that no one really wanted him around. He left the room with a frown and glossy eyes.

"And there are headbands of your fallen comrades on the islands because?" Mistress prompted. "Don't tell me they had a battle royale there." She shook her head.
"Fine. You better be back as soon as you are finished. If you're not back in 24 hours, I'll send someone after you," she finished.
Meanwhile, Batou exited the room and took the elevator down with Jericho.
"Don't worry about it," he said. "I'm sure it wasn't you. And she treats everybody like that, anyway." Taking another glance at him, he continued, "So, are you another prospective student? I dealt with one just earlier this morning."

Jericho rubbed his eyes so they were no longer glossy then nodded yes. He kept his head down as he spoke.
“I guess so, I was sent here by my father, so I guess he wants me to learn whatever it is you guys are teaching. So sign me up, I will do whatever you people want me to do.”
Jericho let out a sigh when he thought about his father. He decided that was the last time he would feel sad about his father, that it was time he put it behind him. He had been traveling for over a year, and each day felt like the day his father died, it was time to get over it.
