Niki frowned. "But it would make it easier for the searcher to find everyone, if they had candles with them..." Her comment was more musing aloud than anything else. Getting stuck with a toddler didn't really both her so much as having a light in the dark to guild the searcher to her.

Taliesin frowned. "Well what if we don't hold them? Just put them up on things so we have light to see where we're going?" He looked at the group of children and blinked at them. "Does that sound good?"

Niki blinked, then realized that she must have spoken aloud. Silently, she nodded. That sounded better. Then the toddlers could hide on their own, too.

Manelin nodded quickly. Now he could hide near one of the pretty flames! Parmida frowned at Manelin. "Manelin, this still means you can't try to pet a flame again." Manelin debated pouting, and decided it wouldn't get him anywhere. He sighed, and retorted, "It was only the once. And I really did think I could touch it without burning myself." ((Can fire elementals touch fire without burning themselves? x.X)) Parmida frowned, but left Manelin alone. She turned back towards Tali. "As long as we put them up out of the toddlers' reach, I suppose we could get away with putting them up on things."

Taliesin jumped up. "Then what are we waiting for? Everyone get a candle from your room. Niki, you and I will grab two so the toddlers don't have to bug the Matron's for candles. Then lets meet down in the basement!" With a cheery wave Taliesin headed off to the room he still shared with Vincent. Warily he opened the door.
"You there?" He asked cautiously entering into the room.

Manelin scowled. He had candles in his room! Lots of them! He hust wasn't sure if his matron had found his latest batch or not... He hestitated. Should he follow Tali, or go to his room and get some candles? Parmida simply went to her room, grabbed a candle, thought about it, then grabbed another in case something happened to her first. Manelin still couldn't decide one way or another, so he'd do both. He went to his room as quickly and quietly as possible, made sure his matron wasn't around, looked for his stash, found it, grabbed a double handful of unlit candles, shove them into pockets, and dashed for Tali's room. He didn't want to go to the basement by himself anyways. He slowed down as he neared Tali's room and poked his head in to see if Tali was still there.

Niki nodded, getting up and heading towards her room. She opened a drawer and found two fairly large candles and grabbed them. Then she headed back downstairs to wait for Tali. No point in going on down without them. Not that she was scared or anything...

Edmund wasn't quite sure what to do. He wasn't supposed to go get a candle, right? The boy named Taliesin said he shouldn't. Did he...did he even know where the basement was? And so - latching on to the nearest familiar thing - he trailed Manelin, hands shoved into his pockets. Didn't actually make himself particularly noticable, but kept him in sight.

Apparently Vinnie wasn't in there so Taliesin hurried in and grabbed a few candles and a stricker. Heading out the door, the almost teen bumped into Manelin. "Hey! C'mon, I can't wait!" He nearly tumbled over the other toddler, a sullen boy with his hands stuck in his pocket. "013 right? Let's not keep the girls waiting." He set off leading the way to the basement door.

Manelin stumbled backwards to avoid being stepped on by Tali and slammed backwards into Edmund. He yelped as he tottered for one moment before regaining his balance. He quickly rushed to catch up with Tali. Parmida thought about it some more, grabbed a few more candles, and rushed to the basement. She didn't want them to go in ahead of her.

Scuffing his feet Vincent wondered around the hallways, he was tired of his room and all the strange confustion that surrounded...well, everybody...
He was curious about the great hall but wasn't small enough to sneak his antics past that matrons anymore. His disarming charm didn't do much for him, they were a bit wiser now, but after all these years they should be.
He wondererd until he came to the greenhouses. Stepping inside the sound of the rain was soothing and blocked out the incesent buzz in his mind. He was examinging some of the new flowers they were growing. He always liked the greenhouse, the air smelled richer and cleaner in here with all the plants.
He wondered what the other's were up too... perhaps sneaking around, trying to get a glimpse of the...whatever was going on.
Vincent wasn't scared but he didn't want to grow up... it was too confusing.

An echoing yelp was heard from Edmund as he attempted to step out of the way of Manelin's path and failed. He rocked back - flailing his arms for a moment and just about losing his balance - before he managed to right himself. It made him sulky, sucking on his thumb as he tagged after the two other boys, trying his best to keep up.

The trio soon arrived at the door to the basement, a sturdy wooden and iron object. 002 and 006 were already there waiting for them. "Allright!," Taliesin shouted, glad to see everyone ready to go. He went around and made a mark on each candle, using the same amount of wax on each of them. "When it reaches this point, come out regardless," he ordered. His instinct to lead could sometimes cross the border into simple bossiness, as was starting to become the case.
Blithely he continued on with the instructions. "You guys go down and set up and hide and I'll count to 100 and then start searching." Waving the stricker he grinned at the group. "Who first?"

((x.x *ish confused, thus asks many questions* Is the door shut or open? Shut Are they in the basement, or still near the door?Near door Have the candles been placed? Nope! K!))
Parmida let Tali mark her candle then looked around at the others. She wasn't going first. Unless Tali started to count. Then she had to go find a hiding place. Manelin shuffled his feet. Sure he'd go down there, but he didn't want to be the first down there. He'd never been down there before. He might get lost. Plus he didn't think he could get the door open... "Ermm... I don't think I can open the door. And I don't have a candle to light the way..."

Edmund certainly wasn't going first. Nu-uh. No way. However brave he was trying to be, that was much too scary for the toddler, and he hung back, hoping they wouldn't try to force him.
