i like this one too, but i can't stand how selfish Alice is. if you can't trust the one you love , thats selfish.

Mmmmkay, this isn't a matter of trusting here. Alice couldn't believe that Kyou had any feelings for her other than pure friendship. Alice, in general, is a very insecure, shy, and introverted girl. I'd like to see you be willing to put your heart on the line. Confessing that you love somebody is a huge deal, anybody who's done it or has been in a relationship can tell you that one.

Alice, regardless of her insecurities about Kyou possibly even liking her in return is supportive and believes in Kyou 110+%. I fail to see how ANY of this is being selfish, and besides, it all worked out in the end as it is. Oh and, let's not forget that Kyou couldn't make up his mind for a while there, that was being slightly selfish and unfair.

And if you're talking about when Alice didn't confess to loving Kyou when he was pursuing her... did you forget about the Maram Word that Mayura placed on Kyou? If Alice even so much as started to say she loved Kyou he would die. That put her through hell, if you recall.

Bottom line: Even though Alice is insecure, introverted, and shy, she is certainly not any more selfish than the next person, and considering her family life, its not surprising she turned out the way she did.

I agree with everything The Manda said.
One of the reasons i love Alice 19th as much as I do is because I can relate to Alice more than I can relate to Wastase's other female characters. I like the fact that she is quiet. I read Imadoki and Tanpopo drove me crazy because she was so extroverted. I just couldn't relate to someone who didn't care what people thought about her.

Anyways, I don't think Alice is more selfish than anyone else.

I totally agree with what you guys are saying.....Alice is the only true girl character that comes even close to being like me, and she is the one that seems the most human. She is not always energenic, she is not really that confident, she is not totally perfect, and can sometimes show a dark side. Most importantly Alice is far from selfish....if she was then she would have gone after Kyo right away, but she was worried about her sister's feelings. She also risked her life in the very first book to save a rabbit, when everyone else just did nothing.

i loved the conversation though. i can relate to alice too...and that was the only reason i bought the second volume when this first came out sweatdrop she just reminded me of myself so much and i thought it was such a spin-off from the hyperactive heroine i usually see (i hadnt been obsessed with sensei until the third volume and imadoki came out. all i had were the first few volumes of FY, AnC, and the 2 alice 19ths) i guess it wasnt until the end of the second one (or maybe even the third volume eek ) that i got genuinely obsessed.

If you didnt understand any of that (cuz i dont think i did) i'll just say that alice isnt selfish. and to me, she doesnt even show selfishness until the 3rd volume (where she tells mayura she'll tell kyo she loves him no matter what)

this is getting so off topic but if i had to pick one (best female lead) it would have to be yusura so far 3nodding (shoot...cant justify that now, have a call. maybe later sweatdrop )
