Hi! I just got accepted whee I love the Phantom ^_^ The first time I became obsessed with was actually when I first heard the music. I fell absolutely in love with the music *-* Then in 7th grade we played it in band and I loved it even MOOORRE
2 years ago I saw the play and was just hooked! Can't get enough of it! Then I started playing the songs on the piano, then I saw the movie in January, and just recently I got finished with the book ^_^
I love everything about the Phantom!! xd And I'm glad to be somewhere where my obsession doesn't get these kinds of looks --> eek !

I'm old! gonk I'm 29, live in Alaska of all god-forbidden places, and I adore the story of Erik. It's rather like.... Little Red Riding Hood... in the simple fact that it has evolved and twisted and turned into so many different realms within a short two centuries, and I love seeing a fantastic story evolve.
Anyway, my history with it is short, brief, but very nice indeed. I first heard the music, entirely because I thought ALW's musical sounded like it "might" be interesting, in 1992. The music astonished me, I ordered a libretto in the mail, then embarked on reading Gaston Leroux's famed novel.
I auditioned for a little concert in Senior year of high school singing with an AMAZING (and very very cute) guy singing "The Angel of Music" and flopped on my butt HARD on the highest note. So then, I embarked on singing it for REAL. I practiced every day and decided I wanted to professionally pursue musical theater, AND opera.
Well I solo'd "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again" for the Senior Concert, auditioned for the Nevada Opera Theater with "Think of Me", and in 1995, actually performed as Christine in several concerts FOR the Nevada Opera Theater as Christine. With yet another wonderful man singing as Erik by my side.
Now I live in Alaska, where the musical industry is almost dead. I sing, but not professionally, I have 4 GORGEOUS kids who can bust out a tune like they were born in the opera itself, and I've decided to record music instead of performing it live... at least until something happens in my corner of the state with the music half. sweatdrop
Thanks for the wonderful guild. I look forward to spending more time here!

Hello there, name's Katie! I just got my acceptance PM and I was so excited! I'm 17, I live in Ohio and yes, I am buddies with Yukinoko. whee
I was actually an Andrew Lloyd Webber fan a long long time before I loved Phantom(my first B'way obsession was CATS, but how quickly we grow). I discovered Phantom through an Andrew Lloyd Webber fan site when I was 13 or so and when I listened to the music, I was immediately in love.
I memorized the score all of a week after buying it, then I discovered the classic movie with Lon Chaney, then the book, then, of course, the modern musical movie. I will be seeing the play when Broadway America's tour comes to my town in August. I cannot wait for the tickets to go on sale Thursday. I will be WAITING IN LINE.
I've always been a Phantom Sympathizer and I don't understand how anyone couldn't be. I've always felt like every action he takes has been justified, no matter who he kills or threatens or extorts. Raoul, the charming and perfectly well behaved viscount is really of no interest to me or any other female Phan I've met (and there seems to be quite a few of them).
I'm so glad there is a guild for us Phans. The Gaia Theatre Company was getting annoyed with all my Phantom threads. xp

I look forward to spending more time here! Adopt me. XD ..That was an odd way to say hi (gosh, I never welcome people. I'm a horrible person!) but I just had to get those two words out of my system before I stalked you just to find someplace else to say it. Anyway, welcome (and welcome to everyone else who is new). Interesting Red Riding Hood ref. Never heard it placed in that way. =P

aaah, newbie here. blaugh So nice to meet everyone! ^_^ Eeeh, I fell in love with the Phantom of the Opera movie, although I already hated Raoul near the beginning of it. I think I read the book when I was in grade school, though, so I'm not very clear with the actual events. I'm thinking about reading it again.
Does anyone know a good fanfic about Erik and Christine? ^_~
