__ X had reached his post while Ada hung back for a bit to hear what had upset Selina so much. The two reporting to Kenshin about such a matter drew her concern. Duty demanded that her focus had to be the Emperor, but her heart went out to the citizens with such a thing on the streets. "You did very well, Selina. Don't regret your decisions." Ada dismissed herself with a bow of the head to everyone else before joining X to stand guard. The automaton faced to salute Ada then returned to attention before saying, "I apologize." She paused from her thoughts about the mechanical heart monster or the other murderer who had earned Kenshin's admonition. "For what?" As much as she wanted to set this aside for later, this level of progress in X's personality were too important to neglect. X lowered his gaze, "That was a friend of yours, wasn't she?" His voice was somewhat melancholic, definitely giving Ada a regretful vibe. She simply smiled to the young-minded puppet then set a hand on X's shoulder. "I appreciate your concern, but you don't have to apologize if you did nothing wrong and nothing came of it. You were doing you duty to protect his highness and his subjects, and Selina wasn't harmed in the process either." Ada retracted her hand from the automaton's shoulder and resumed her responsibilities in full. X fell quiet to process the woman's expressed thoughts.
__ Kenshin stood between Kameyo and Selina. He filled his pages with notes when Selina separated from Ada and began talking. Ada offered a supportive shoulder for Selina before dutifully going to guard the door for the emperor. She had a sense of balance in her personality that was incomprehensible to the captain. She was both a woman of mercy and of justice because she had the generous grace and righteous judgment to be so. Kenshin suppressed his look of admiration toward her and remained stoic in the midst of this new case.
He scribbled quickly in his notepad and flipped the successive pages as Selina spoke between bouts of crying. As if this young woman who was too expressive and genuine for her own good could deceive the master investigator's eye. "Missing pieces." He thought between pen strokes and allowed his glare to fall upon her. There were aspects of the beginning of her story that were clearly missing and he could not even begin to speculate on what they could be. Kenshin wrote more vigorously when she gave the details of what was investigated. Now it was his time to speak, but he would not feel the bubbling rage from the struggles of his past. His extensive meditations allowed him to release himself from those shackles. Instead, he would focus with just precision. "Selina, you're not a cop anymore, it's illegal to investigate crime scenes on your own without cooperating with the police." His eyes then sharply glanced at Selina's new friend and his eyebrows tightened. He listened to her speak and add to the story. At least the part about the scientist was consistent in the story but their circumstances for friendship and meeting were not. Kenshin knew that Selina liked to try to "fix" people and see into their souls and all that rubbish. It was easy for him to see how she could be taken advantage of as he was raised with the worst of the worst. "By bad past you mean that she's criminal? You pranced into this adventure with a foreigner that you don't even know and evaded the police?" His words were meant for Selina as he turned his head and had his eyes stab into her. "I chose the path of order when I entered the world. I crawled my way out of the gutter because I was born with the potential to do so as a law abider. If your friend is a lawbreaker then there's no changing that. She was born for the path that she's on if that's the case." Kenshin refused to accept Selina or Kameyo's help in the matter because all they seemed to be doing was interfering where they had no business to. "You're both staying out of this until the police get to the bottom of it before you make matters worse or hurt yourselves." Kenshin completed his notes and had no further questions. It was going to be time to hunt down this mad scientist before he could harm the village as well as end the Kunoichi Killer menace.

Selina felt a twinge more confident when Ada praised her for her good work and headed out of the room. At the very least her friend continued to support her. However, shame and defeat filled Selina's lungs as Kenshin laid into her. Her arms rose instinctively as they wrapped around her in order to provide some kind of subconscious barrier. Her stare went blank when Kenshin told her to stand down until the police did their job. "But-" She couldn't stop herself from starting, but she cut herself off before she continued. She knew better than to back mouth Kenshin. "Understood." She said softly. Her tone probably wouldn't make Kenshin look up from his papers though. "But Kameyo is a good person. People can change if they want to." She stated. She knew better than to fight Kenshin, especially when she was wrong. However, Kenshin knew that Selina was not afraid with him to say what was in her heart. It has gotten her in trouble in the past, and she knew it probably would get her to have another scolding glare from Kenshin. However, she knew that Kenshin would anticipate her saying something, and that not saying something was as bad as lying.
Kameyo's eyes narrowed at Captain Kosei's evaluation of her. She straightened her back as her mood worsened. She wanted to hold her tongue so as not to contradict Selina, but she couldn't let this be. "I hail from Gimangakure. It's hard to call me a criminal when I live in a world without rules. By your standards, perhaps, but that is not how I was raised or taught, and frankly, I was not introduced to your laws until this week, long after my 'criminal' actions allegedly took place." She looked at him down the length of her nose, evaluating him. Selina trusted him, so he must not be all bad. Kameyo did not sense ill will from either him or the one called Ada. "Furthermore, you are entitled to do things your way as is your structure or guideline, but I think it's foolish to be so stubborn or strict when you have invaluable resources at your fingertips - namely, Selina's impeccable detective skills and my own special knowledge of the Jiongu clan and their techinques."
The tendrils just beneath her patchwork skin trembled at the mention, just to make her point all the more clear. The tendrils moved in a manner that could remind one of an Aburame but the patterns of movement were distinctly Jiongu-like, and would clarify her meaning without words so long as Kosei was familiar with the clan to any degree. "If you choose to not enlist our help despite our witness status and my expertise, that's your prerogative, but it disappoints me that you value written law over human life."
She looked to Selina, eyes softening after hearing her kind words in her defense. "Finally, I understand I am an outsider and thus bound by your laws for the time being. But unless I am mistaken, there is nothing that prevents me from assisting the village in this time of need nor preventing the robotic killer from taking lives under your good samaritan laws."
She thought of her status as a sage. She'd proven herself worthy to earn it. She couldn't disgrace their judgement of her now. "If you choose not to take me or us along, that's fine, and I will not conduct any investigations nor impede police business. But you will not have me stand idly by when I can be out there defending innocent people unless you've found a law I've broken in your village that you can arrest me for."

__ As Kenshin reviewed his notes he heard Selina's mention of her point of view that no one is beyond redemption. He mumbled under his breath but would not look up at her. When Kameyo began speaking he listened but tried to seem disinterested. Her very first words immediately hooked him so it was irresistible. Once he was done reading over his notes and when she finished her various utterances his head shot up and his eyes focused on her. "I was born in Gimangakure. In the prison specifically and yet I've never broken the law in my life. Gimangakure is a nest of whores and vipers that I had to crawl out of so I know lawless trash when I see it. You're not going and you're staying out of our way." Kenshin was a man who took his work immensely personally because he was righting the sins of his family and the blights on this world that they created. The captain then stepped away from her and back to Hajime and Freya. "Freya, tell me about your police training experience." His tone was still serious but he needed the information and to get his mind off of this previous confrontation.

He would offer Shiro no rest a he addressed him in every manner possible. "You are preaching to the choir boys shiro-nii bloop. Do you think If I had that time to spare I would have so recklessly rushed this project." Toso's voice grew monotonously grave as he'd guide Shiro out of the pocket dimension and back into the office. The Skies above the ocean a great distance away had begun turning red. Rocks of meteoric proportions could be seen from the villages vantage and the towers tallest window. They had the advantage of now being in the sky of bearing witness to something so far away while not directly experiencing the quaking impacts to come. The meteors reflected in Toso's glasses, not a stroke of awe appeared on his face but the grimdark realization being made apparent in the look of his lowered eyes."You've been in the capital Shiro-nii. Handling the diplomatic affairs of the land of lightening. So I shall bring you up to speed. The Uzukage is dead. Our village has only just recovered from an attack not mere days ago. Uzugakure seems fit to fall at the hands of a man reported by Arashigakure's strongest to have made him feel a child in comparison in a manner of minutes it seems. This rogue force known as Kogarashi warranted such a threat that the Twin kage have the intent to martyr themselves. The last thing I'm concerned about Shiro-nii is the people hating me for one rash decision when it means saving the lives of thousands bloop. Whether or not those thousands or not being grateful or ungrateful I could cannot care less."
He turned to Shiro as the meteors pierced the clouds of the far off distance. "I would not have asked for secession if I was not aware of the legality issues it entails. That is why I had stated earlier that in doing so the land of lightning will not be held responsible for our actions. As for the UHV I've a unit wiping out the remainder of their kind. As for the threat of airships let us say there is reasoning I decided to choose the sky as our destination first." He would pat Shiro on the back to bring him back to reality in a friendly pat. The world he had left to be a diplomat, the world of shinobi would wash over him today in a torrent. "You have made me aware of something new however...an arms race. It had never occurred to me...I suppose we just have to keep the lead then. After all, squids already have eight arms ahead of the competition bloop." He tried to make light of the situation. A liter village from a distance was being bombarded and this man was keeping a level head...or so it seemed.
"That being said Shiro-nii. The resources I need are human. The best and brightest you can afford. Everything else, true, we can gather them on our own but not without permissions. Otherwise, that's theft. Mining rights, land rights, water is simple, the others are not, especially in the early transition period, this is why I need your co-operation to sign off on said rights. But that can be saved for later. If my quivering tentacles are correct. Our time for further preparations is growing less by the second. Let us conclude here. Much much earlier. The slam of a door into what was essentially the waiting room would occur. Followed by labored breathing. "Blooo ...bloo.bloo." The clone Toso had sent to do his errands had finally returned in disheveled looking state. He had come in roughly towards the middle of the conversation to eavesdrop silently as it tried to catch its breath. Despite its 'headstart', the two ladies had beaten it here. Finally, it would calmly intervene between the large group. "Ah I suppose I am lawless trash then aren't I Officer Kosei?" He'd say. "I'm certain you're aware. My history. Do you hold it against me that at one point and even today I'm still believed to be a lecherous deviant bloop and now said individual is the one that is essentially on the top when it comes to our chain of command bloop?" He asked these questions but they were meant to be rhetorical.
"Are people incapable of redemption officer Kosei? Can a person make right their wrongs bloop? Not everything is so black and white Captain my advisory for someone who currently continues to be my advisor. Would you not agree miss royal guardswoman?" A veiled 'implication' that meant that Kenshin could possibly be replaced as his advisor. Of course it was empty and was unintentional but one who thought hard about every action they took could second guess into doubts. He'd rope the woman he knew little of to agree with him. Although knowing so little about her she very well may have disagreed. But should she agree it would have likely been another arrow to the Captain's heart. He'd then look at everyone in the room before giving Selina and Kameyo a nod. If Kenshin and Belamos were so hard set on being the Firm hands he would need to be the tender touch. "More importantly, Officer were you not supposed to be pursuing a certain individual by now?" His eyes would then lock onto a Selina. "And a certain group of security is tearing this village apart wondering where their Star Idol has gone, I can say such almost being a casualty from their search." then to Kameyo. "I swear you'd think tourism would have decreased bloop, perhaps you'd fancy a place to stay for the night and a bath?" then both Selina and Kameyo "Perhaps both of you bloop? Mayhaps I could convince those men in black their idol is doing a business deal with the kage to get them to calm down bloop?" seeing as they were rather just as scruffed up as the squidman himself. Of course he didn't know the urgency of a ROGUE ROOBIT doing the big nasty in who knows where. Suddenly what sounded like screams from outside. "My, was there perhaps an opening act? They must really be the bee's knees bloobloobloo." perhaps it was an opening act used to distract from the sudden missing idol echoing from the market district. Or maybe it was 'something' else. Whatever it was the clone was rightly getting ready to reconvene and deliver unto his true self. Only...there was some blue person in front of the door.

__ Ada had paused again, only halfway on her way to her post when she heard someone who sounded and looked like the Arashikage who was supposed to be in meeting with the Emperor. She only nodded slightly when he said something about the grey areas of bad and good. To be honest she did find rare reasons to give extra chances, but she'd yet to see much reason for ignoring laws and peacekeeping systems. She still managed to slip away to her post afterward while the one who looked like Toso addressed everyone in the foyer. Before she and X had a moment of heart to motherboard she had him use his X-Vision to confirm the safety and location of Shiro and Toso. This made it easier to determine that this other Toso was merely a clone and they'd step aside from him to join the others in the office. From the sounds of things outside, Kenshin and his subordinates were definitely in need of deployment, and accepting the help of Selina and Kameyo offered at least as much opportunity for success as it risked failure. Could one such as Captain Kosei take such a gamble, though? Everyone had their own bets.
Kameyo's frowned deepened at Kosei's unsatisfactory response. "It's evident to me that you only claim Gimangakure to try and pull one over on me, but I can tell you were not there long if you had not broken a law. I wonder if you ever actually witnessed tragedy or temptation, or if you just like projecting that image." She had much, much more to say, but she was interrupted by a man who looked like the clone from the agricultural district. Her eyebrows lifted as his response, but she stayed quiet until he addressed her.
"Ah, this excellent waiter from a restaurant downtown, Trefles, has already granted me a coupon for a pleasant night's stay." She pointedly failed to mention that the nature of the coupon was for a couple and that her touring partner was, in fact, family and not a lover. "But I appreciate the hospitality. I do not speak for Selina but I must say the idol contract will be the least of her management team and her fans' worries if we do not deal with the murderous robot on the loose in your village, sir. It possess approximately five hearts in a manner much akin to the Jiongu and it does not want to rest until it has slain us all."

A lot of things happened, and Selina felt herself extremely excited by the prospect of the Arashikage helping her maintain some ninja work while holding her idol status. It wasn't like she disliked being an idol, since doing so allowed her to give joy to the village as a whole. However, being a ninja and a police officer gave her satisfaction for herself, which she needed too. Before she could accept, Kameyo accused Kenshin of never going through anything. "One second Lord Arashikage." Selina said with a bow. Her eyes became stern as she looked deeply into her friend, stepping in front of herself and Kenshin. "Kenshin Kosei has been through his own journey, and some of the worst things I stood beside him in. He is my friend as well, and although he can be really strict, I will not let you insult him either by saying that he doesn't understand." She answered definitively. Selina then turned away and moved back into the presence of the kage.
"I apologize for my sudden disappearance, and I promise to go back to help ensure that the contest goes through without any problems." She said humbly. "However, Lord Arashikage, if you would allow my friend and I to make amends for the problem that we failed to stop, and if you could sanction our work with the APD, that would mean the world to me." Selina said as her right hand rose to cover her heart. She felt personally responsible for the dangers which arose, and she needed to stop them with Kameyo. If Kenshin could help as well then that would be incredible, but she was willing to solve her own mistakes. She wasn't a little girl anymore. She had weight and responsibilities to carry, and she would do so with a smile.
Waiting while conversations happened and new people showed up. Freya remained at Kenshin's heel, ever silent and taking in her surroundings. The discussion becoming that of one of morality of shinobi tickled Freya deep down. Kagami was correct. These village shinobi were hopeless with their twisted outlooks. Hopefully Freya wouldn't have to deal with it long. Her thoughts passing leaving no impression upon her expression. Kenshin sudden turned towards her to inquire about her training.
Emerald hues directed at the man she first seemed reluctant to answer. "There was many things the core did to my body." Embarrassed a bit Freya blushed softly before glancing away for a moment.. "Many things were instilled into me every night and day. A few weeks feels much longer when you're not allowed to sleep for days at a time. But over all it's made me a sharper blade to help protect Arashi. So I'm grateful to the core." On the outside Freya smiled softly. While on the inside she'd wish she could kill the old bastards that were so demanding of her during her time at the core. Everyday was like another hell. Freya was put under very harsh situations and force to train still. Starving, dehydration, sleep deprived and many other things were done to Freya while in the core to push her further over her limits. Even if them old bastards did teach her Anbu arts they'd have to pay some day for their cheekiness. "I wouldn't have traded the experience for anything else in the world Kenshin-Sama."
__ Kenshin remained calm even as he received social repercussions for his views. Prior to his meditations, he would be simmering with anger, but now he did not feel the need to emote much besides refusing to be silenced and to make his positions clear as an advisor. "I don't believe those things to be true of you." Kenshin responded immediately after his leader's rhetorical question. In truth, Kenshin did not care to know the kage's personal proclivities so long as they were not interfering in his duties. "Redemption is a nice fantasy, but people are products of their inherent nature. A wolf can wear sheep's clothing but he's still a wolf." The mentality that people should be given opportunities for reform after having committed crimes was discredited nonsense in his experience. There were none in this room who knew the worst of the worst the way the captain did and he was resolute in this view. Not breaking his gaze from the Arashikage, he would not allow his leader to insinuate a demotion for ideological disagreement when Kenshin was dutifully exemplary. "It's your right to fill your advisory with more people who you think might agree with you. But with all due respect, no kage can run this village without me." Kenshin was endlessly loyal to the village and his kage and would be obedient of his orders, but would never tolerate being belittled for all that he contributes to his home and Kenshin did not appreciate Toso's insinuation. When he asked him if he was supposed to go and pursue the kunoichi killer by now he nodded and added more detail. "I was but these two asked for my ear." His eyes darted to Selina and Kameyo and listened to her attempt to discredit him while Selina rushed to his defense. Selina was a loyal and dedicated friend and Kenshin would return that in kind without hesitation but he had to do his job. He looked at Kameyo and gave a curt response to her after Selina. "I'd listen to your new friend before you speak of more things that you know nothing about, outsider." He was still deeply suspicious of this individual's intentions. Kenshin turned his attention back to Toso after Selina's request. "I told them that I wouldn't allow them to get involved further because they might risk complicating police operations. Especially since they've already made a mess of this matter. However, if you give them permission then I will obey." Kenshin spoke politely with his kage and former colleague. When Freya spoke to him he nodded and retained a blank expression. He did not understand what she was blushing about. Training in the CORE was seldom a matter of joy, happiness, or embarrassment. It was a strictly regimented experience designed by Kenshin himself during the village's founding. "I have no doubt that your skills were honed. During the mission, I'll leave most of it to you and your peers unless I need to intervene." The clone of Toso would then head towards the office door as the blue bomber would step aside. Yes, he looked odd but there was no time to question appearances. For what it was worth Toso believed it to be an actual human being. The clone would then enter the office.
~In the Office~ The clone would approach his true self. He would return the wallet of Ryo and then a scroll. The scroll containing the Squid Cane and Ink-jector. The true Toso nodded as the clone dispersed into smoke. "I seem to be growing in popularity today. I must depart Shiro-nii feel free to consult any of my clones." He kept this short as Toso made a menagerie of clones which would begin to disperse themselves. The old saying 'I can't be everywhere at once' was an unviable excuse for shinobi of his talent. Now Shiro would be with a cloned Toso who would then answer anything he needed. The true Toso would then leave the office with another clone in tow.
~Outiside the Office~ "Officer Kosei I'd like to get this rogue robot business out of the way. Asap please defer to my clone." removing his case of brushes again a gateway would be formed into the private dimension that was Isekai-junsei. Since the office itself was currently occupied. "You know what to expect." The clone would lead Kenshin into the pocket dimension to close it off shortly after. Hopefully, his report would be swift and concise so as not to leave his companions waiting too long. The real Toso would turn to Hajime and Freya with Ada caught in the crossfire of the words. "Just give him a moment he shouldn't be too long"
He'd then shift his attention to Kameyo and Selina. "Ladies. If we are to be on our way bloop do take lead." As earlier stated her request was effectively granted on the condition that the squid man accompany them. This would cover the legal issues Kenshin had while simultaneously feeding into the whims of all three individuals.

Kameyo bristled at Selina coming to Kenshin's defense and not her's, as well as Kenshin warning her not to talk of things she did not know. "But evidently, you're an expert of everyone from Gimangakure." She narrowed her eyes at Selina, feeling her anger grow. "But I'm just a viper - or, no, a whore." She grit her teeth as the kage split the group up in order to take care of his village. She didn't bother to keep track of who went where or whether or not the one coming with them was real or a clone. She had little interest in the people of Arashigakure at the moment, feeling angrier than she had in the longest time. But, she was not going back on her word, so she would continue to help Arashigakure with the robot and continue if the attack the village feared was going to happen, happened.
She stalked out the door without a second glance to Selina or the Arashikage, unaware on whether or not they were going to follow her.

__ Kenshin shook his head in frustration when he found out that Toso was teasing him. Once Toso drew the ink world portal he immediately stepped through after nodding to Hajime and Freya. "Sir, you know that I hate your jokes." The captain grumbled slightly under his breath but still audibly while looking at the clone. "Anyway, my brief report must be administered verbally because of its sensitive nature. The Kokurai, one of the large terrorist groups that we've been hunting for years has finally been destroyed." He paused to let that information sink in before continuing. "The agents in CORE's ANBU wing discovered their headquarters and that it was full of advanced tech. One of our undercover agents also learned that they began making preparations to interfere with our technology with the intent to force Arashigakure to fall out of the sky." Images of what he had to do to these men kept playing in his mind before he continued. "I received a third level emergency to report to the ANBU and carry out the mission of killing the eight people in their leadership. After I did so the agents apprehended the technology and we haven't heard a peep from the Kokurai since." It was always rare for Kenshin to have to handle missions on their own but this needed to be done urgently and with no chance of failure. Once he finished that vital report he thought if there were any other items to discuss before continuing. "Before that, I was called by the CORE's sensors to investigate a massive surge of natural energy. I sat down in the cave where it was sensed and meditated for hours before finding myself able to perform the sage arts without a summoning contract. The energy disappeared after I interacted with it. Quite unusual." Kenshin needed to report to Toso that he had become a lot more power from the experience but also to alert him of the strange anomaly. "That's it from me. Unless you have any questions I'll be heading out to start that mission." The captain was more than prepared to apprehend the Kunoichi Killer now that he spoke his piece.

~Isekai-Junsei~ "That is rather unnerving. However, it would certainly require a significant effort bloop.. only my associate tuly understands how it works in full. The devices were but conduits to spread the compounded energy bloop but I suppose if this group reverse enegineered them...mm that would would have been catastrophic bloop. I suppose I will need to organize a clean up crew to retrieve the now purposeless devices although I have a feeling this Kokurai have already done so and it may well be in the comandered salavaged tech." The clone placing a finger on its chin. "The uhv may be gone but its innovations still remain and are still blossoming in full bloop" his glasses lit up. "I'd like all that salvaged tech analyzed by your brightest agents, anything too difficult is to be given to my associate or myself as our careers have recently flourished in these departments...that being said."
The Toso clone would look vacant momentarily it's hands resting to it sides. "Congratulations on your newfound prowess. To my knowledge, the twin kage never appointed any Sannin. Perhaps whence you return with this criminal you've the intent to detain, and all in your accompaniment prove to be in fine shape, and they've only good to speak of you bloop. Yes perhaps, I'll make you the first in Arashi to bear that title. bloop." The toso clone would then open the exit. While Kenshin was very much capable of doing so himself this was evidence there was nothing further to discuss. Indeed...now would not be an ideal time to tell Kenshin of the secession, it can wait for when everything was sorted.
"Well if that is all bloop. Thank-you for your service bloop, and do try not to take some light-hearted humor so seriously. bloop. It would be pleasing to see the occasional smile grace your face Officer Kosei. bloop." It was of course hard to tell when or when he wasn't being humorous due to the tone of voice the always had. So there was an incredible irony to that statement and request. With a bow the clone would see the officer off. Once he left, the dimension would close and the clone would poof.
~Outside the Office~ The real Toso would watch Kameyo storm off in a huff yet he remained patient. Truthfully now what would Selina do having angered her 'lover'. Kameyo would angrily make the statement of her perceptions in the eyes of the officer. That of being one whore. Now that wasn't a nice way to put it. This meant that if Kameyo truly was a lady of the night, to not take pleasure in the title of escort and to condemn it rather than accept it meant three things. 1. She was a lady of the night who did not take pleasure in her career. 2. She was a lady of the night forced into her career. or OBVIOUSLY 3. She wasn't a lady of the night at all. But that was a far less fun story. Now on the off chance that..or rather...nye near implausible chance that it was either 1 or 2 Toso could not accept that. If it was 1 he'd have to rekindle her passion or get her to affirm her desires. If it was 2 then he'd have to punish the criminal scum who would subject a young lady to such cruel practices! Ah...right. Whatever Selina decided to do. He would follow, but he would take no action in pursuing Kameyo, after all he still knew very little of the woman. CLEARLY as evidenced by his wandering thoughts.
