"I shall be there soon. Don't wait up for me. Ta-tah!" Steph hung up the phone. Looks like she was going to be there after all.

"You promise you'll pay me?", Stacy said, "I don't want to get in trouble at my job. It's my only source of income, and I can't afford to get on the supervisor's bad side."

[Wait, I remember, Maddy didn't have a job yet. Not even her own parents would hire her. Didn't she explain that to Stacy at some point? If I'm wrong about this, you can decide what job you'd like to give her. It's your character.]

[In the first Sandwich Barn scene, Steph implied she was still modeling. And I think with her amount of narcissism, she'd still be doing that.]



Stacy had left her car, still in her gray suit as she had neglected to change clothes for her day off. A large part of her still couldn't believe that Maddy talked her into it. She had called in sick at work a little too late, meaning that they couldn't schedule a replacement for her. That wasn't going to look good on her associate record.

Right ahead of her was Buttercup, the bakery she was given the address to by Maddy. It took a bit to find it, so Stacy worried she was running late. She would have to find the others right away.

[Threesome? Well, we'll have to see how the event plays out. This assumes the party will have strippers.]

Stacy gave an awkward grin at the sudden hand grip from Maddy, "I'm happy you're here too. Has Samantha been treating you well?" She looked back to Sammy who was behind her. She looked happy on a day like this one. It was enough to make her happy as well.

A limo zine parked outside the shop. A long leg first, Steph made her way out of the car. She kept a cigarette between her fingers as she spoke to her driver. "Thank you, Rodger. Please stay here while I reunite with my sister-in-law." She made her way towards the shop.

[You can do the cake person? How thoughtful of you. And I love that picture of the bakery's interior.]

Stacy didn't need long to take in the atmosphere of this fun little cake shop. It had an aura of cheeriness to it, that floated straight from the paint on the very walls around them. It reminded her of the little mom-and-pop shops she'd see when going out of town, but she didn't have to leave to see this one.

"So Samantha, how are you-" Stacy and Steph were both at Sammy's sides, saying the exact same thing. They cut themselves off upon realization of this. They both exchanged a subtle glare to one another.

"How'd you find a place like this?", Stacy asked, "I like it a whole lot."

Before Samantha could answer, Steph said, "How lovely it is to see you again. You have such fine tastes in bakeries, darling."

[What a coincidence that Mr. Fonz recommended a place that Samantha comes to often. Do you think he knew?]

Ms. Miller handed out additional forms to Stacy, Steph, and Maddy for their cake testing. Though as the others were signing theirs, Steph had politely given hers back. "No thank you. I'm not here for the cake tasting." Shortly after that was said, the others had finished filling out their forms. They had given them to Ms. Miller, ready for cake.

Stacy was revving up her sweet tooth, but she had a feeling that she shouldn't eat any sweets. There had to be a reason Steph wasn't, right?

Stacy found herself staring at the cakes displayed before her. It was tempting to grab one and give it a taste. In fact, she wanted to eat the whole plate. But instead, she watched Samantha and Maddy have all the fun.

She looked back to Steph, who was standing behind Samantha. She wasn't eating any of those cakes. She must've known the damage it could do to her figure to give into those desires. Who is Stacy to make the mistake Steph avoids? Steph is gorgeous, and Stacy wants to be gorgeous too. That meant doing her own exercise program at home. It meant abstaining from unhealthy food choices. Being pretty wasn't going to be easy, right?

Even so, she tried to argue with herself that it wouldn't do too much harm. But she couldn't be convinced. Putting those delicious sugars and fats into her system would help continue on the long chain of damage that's been happening to her body. She couldn't afford the prolonging of long-term unhappiness for a short-term comfort.

She had to do what Steph did. That meant eating no cake.

Steph began to pat Samantha on the shoulders to comfort her. "Now now, darling. We mustn't lose control of ourselves. It will be fine, I assure you. You can succeed in finding a flavor for your cake."

Stacy, on the other hand, didn't know how to take this. She'd rarely ever seen Samantha cry, and she most certainly didn't want to cause her tears. But then again, the only way to make her feel better would be to eat some cake. She couldn't afford to do that, given her new training regimen. A small internal dilemma had hit her. Make her friend happy, whilst prolonging her own misery? Or make herself happy, at the expense of her friend?

Looking for an answer, she looked to Maddy. She was scarfing down those cakes like it was no tomorrow. If body fat was determined by how many sweets you ate, Maddy would outweigh Stacy by the time they left. But she couldn't imagine Maddy getting fat. It was crazy. Those cakes may be a detriment to Stacy's weight, but not Maddy's.

A fire began burning throughout Stacy's body upon that realization. Maddy could eat all she wanted, and not have to worry about the consequences. Turning her head to Samantha, the same could be said about her. They couldn't get fat. Their metabolisms were much better. Their bodies were much better. Not once have they worried about their weight, because being fat was never a problem for them. But Stacy, she was screwed. She was what she ate, unlike the others.

How did it come to this? What made her different from them? She just stood there, as she thought about it.
