Grace was laying on her side, facing away from the door when Dereck came inside, she couldn't even face him. She was ashamed of what had happened, and was so sure that if he got a look at her he would immediately treat her different.
"Grace, please. I'm sorry..." He moved around to the other side of the bed, getting a look at her face. He crouched down next to her bed, and placed a hand on her cheek gingerly.
Grace swallowed hard, and allowed herself to look at her brother. He looked worried, and didn't even seem to cringe at the sight of her face when he looked at her. "It isn't your fault, Der." That was all she could muster out when she heard Orion step into the room, telling Dereck that there was something he needed to see. A gift.
Dereck leaned forward and kissed Grace on the forehead before nodding to Orion, and making his way out of the room. Once he was outside, he lit up a cigarette and walked over to where Black was standing, greeting the man with a handshake. By the looks of this meeting, Dereck had a feeling about what they gift was. He looked into the bag, and immediately felt a rush a relief and pride wash over him. "Toss it into the back of my truck. If you find Ace, try and keep him alive. I want to kill him myself." He patted Black on the shoulder, and moved to the side to make a call to Nate. He needed to be in on the loop, and he could even assist with the search for the other Outcast.
Grace sighed when her brother left, and pulled the sheet up to cover her face. "Don't look at me.." She murmured, her voice a bit shaky.

Orion frowned as he pushed a chair beside Grace's bed. He sat down and tugged at the sheet.
"Hun, you are gorgeous to me not because of your looks, but because of who you are as a person. So don't hide." He sighed.
"Everyone has scars, some of us just don't wear them on our skin. I am more worried about you emotionally. I also need to apologize. This is our fault. Dereck and I...we screwed up big time."

He hung his head between his his hands. He couldn't believe he had allowed this to happen on his watch.
"I'm sorry I failed you Grace." He felt like crap. He had not been paying attention and for that, Grace was the one to suffer.

He was not sure the peace treaty with the Reapers was even worth it at this point. He was furious with Dereck for not doing his part in keeping Grace safe, he was even more furious with himself. Why had he not been aware they were in Shadow Creek?! He would find out why no one had informed him of anything regarding the Outcasts.

His men would suffer. No one would escape Orion's wrath. His own men would meet a quick end. Anyone else would not be as fortunate.

Grace felt Orion tugging at the sheet she had covering her face and for a moment she held it tight, ashamed of what he was going to see. Though, when he spoke to her about him liking who she was as a person, she allowed him to pull the sheet from her face and she hesitantly look over to him. She stayed silent, allowing herself to watch him speak an apologize. It wasn't their fault necessarily, at least, not in her eyes.
In her eyes, she blamed the men of the Outcasts. They were the ones that felt the need to do something like this, and Jackson..."It isn't your fault, and it isn't Dereck's fault. You didn't do this to me...they did." She reached her hand out and took his, squeezing it gently. "You didn't fail me...you saved me." That was all she could get out before Dereck walked back into the room, and upon seeing Grace holding Orion's hand he cleared his throat.
Dereck was still not used to the idea that his sister was in love with the leader of the Angels, but Orion did come with him to save her, so he was going to give him the benefit of the doubt. "I'm-uh..I'm gonna leave you two alone..Grace.." His eyes looked from Orion to Grace, and he offered her a small smile. "Call me if you need anything. Nate is going to be sitting outside your room for the time being.." Nate had been unable to find Ace, but with Jackson and Law dead, Dereck was sure the Ace skipped town.

"No. He is your brother. He is family, he should be here with you." Orion leaned over to Grace and kissed her forhesd.
"Dereck, stay with Grace. I should go find my kid. She doesn't even walk and I have managed to lose track of her." He stood up and stretch
"Grace, I will be back first thing in the morning with some of your personal things." Orion felt like Dereck should have no hand in what came next. If things went to hell they both couldn't get arrested. Someone had to be out to keep Grace safe, not that Orion believed he or Dereck even could. This was proof they couldn't.

He exited the room quickly, and went outside. He called Gloom to check on him and see what he was actually doing. Gloom agreed to pick him up, and informed him Belle was with him.

Orion headed back to the Club, and then changed. He jumped on his secondary bike. It was his original bike. He wouldn't part with it for sentimental reasons. Once on his bike he was off, joining the hunt. He was out for blood.

He would be sure all responsible for what happened to Grace suffered. They would beg for death, and eventually it would come. It would just not be swift or easy. They would not be easily recognizable to the authorities, or even family. Closed casket funerals for them all.

Lyn nodded in understanding as Cadie talked about Dereck and her feelings for him and then about wanting to leave this town altogether. "Your secrets are always safe." She told the other woman.

When she made it up the stairs to her apartment, she let Grace in, but turned to Kennedy before walking into the door frame herself
"Kennedy I really appreciate your help, but I think we really need a girl's night tonight. I promise we will be fine. I got the shield loaded on me and the Walther loaded in the bedroom. We will be fine. Go help your club." She then closed the door, not in his face, he was still welcome. But she did feel some girl's time was needed. She saw Cadence had set herself up on the couch with Belle, "You are welcome whenever you need. Can I get you anything. Water? Food?" She crossed into the kitchen near the living room and grabbed out two glasses to fill with water and ice before walking back into the living room with them to set on the coffee table and sitting herself on the floor near the couch, stretching her small frame out. "I get what you mean not wanting to be apart of this life with your baby. I guess I haven't thought that far down the road. I needed out of the country life though, and it won't always be this crazy I'm sure. Do you know where you might go? When do you find out the baby's gender? You gotta be getting close."

"Water please." Cadence rose to accept the glass of water. She smiled at Maralyn.
"Thank you." She took a little sip and slowly sat down. She held the glass and swirled the glass lightly.
"The doctor should be able to tell in a couple more weeks. Not sure really I want to know the sex. I think it might be a nice surprise to just wait till I deliver. Either way as long as the baby is healthy I don't care about the sex." She rubbed the baby's stomach as she whined in her sleep a bit then settled down.
"I don't know where I will go. Could go back to my friends in my old town, but I feel like that will be the first place they look. I have a few relatives I am not close with spread out throughout the country. I have two other half brothers, one older, one younger. I have an Uncle and an Aunt. Other then that....my Mother lives in Shadow Creek, as does my one Aunt and my eldest half brother." Cadence shrugged.
"I will figure something out, I am resourceful that way. Besides....I have too. This isn't just about me anymore."

She took another sip of water and looked around. She set the glass down on a coaster.
"You know he is only sitting in his car right? Doom and probably someone higher up have issued the order to watch us. Grace was abducted, and is probably being tortured. In all honesty....if she is found alive....she may end up better off dead. No one will leave us alone until justice is served, and someone from the elite give word. No point in fighting it. Your not use to this world, but in this world....we are women. Meant to take orders and never question them. If your going to exist here....better learn quickly."

Cadence got up and wandered over to the window. She peeked out and could see Gloom sitting on his car. He looked bored but unconcerned.
"I will hang here for a while, then head to my Aunt's. She worries, when I don't come home. Especially now that I am pregnant. She is crazy now. Monitoring my drinking and eating. She is keeping a food journal for me. Puts my vitamins out. She is obviously tracking my sugar, and food intake. She is so worried about my sugar. It is really getting annoying and it has only been a couple of days." She sat down on the couch.
"Honestly speaking, I think the only reason anyone is even worrying about me right now is because I am pregnant, otherwise I really doubt anyone would have noticed I was missing." She twisted a lock of her thick dark brown hair about her finger.
"Once I am out of the way, Orion is free to go back to his life with Grace. Not worrying about me since I seem to be such a burden to him. Jasper will be free to do whatever it is he wants to do. His plan wasn't to join the MC in hopes the President's sister returns so he can have a series of steamy one night stands with her. So...I think at the end of the day, distance will serve us all well."

Grace felt a frown tug at her lips as Orion dismissed himself, and she followed him with her eyes as he left the room. She found herself looking towards her brother, who was standing there mutely, clenching his jaw. "I..I'm not exactly sure what to say, sis." He moved to sit in the chair where Orion was sitting, and let out a huff of air he had been holding in. His hands moved up and rubbed his hair, then leaned back into the seat, looking at his sister.
Grace shook her head at him, and pulled the blankets nearly up to her chin. The pain meds were starting to make her kind of sleepy, anyways. "Everything is okay..at least I am alive." He offered him the best smile she could manage, given the situation. Then, she rolled over onto her side, letting her back face him as she fell asleep.

"As long as the baby is healthy, I agree it doesn't matter the sex. I would just be curious." She took a sip out of her own water as the brunette talked about where she would go if she left Shadow Creek. Seemed like she had a little bit of family or friends anywhere. If Lyn left, she really only knew of more family in Minnesota, where her dad still was."I don't doubt you will figure it out. And I understand you gotta do what you have to. But I know people will miss you here. Me for one. Your brother, your aunt, I'm sure Jasper. Does he not want a family? " He had joined the MC, so that was up for grabs. But Orion was starting a family and was the President. So being a part of the club shouldn't dictate if the men wanted a family.

As Cadence spoke of Kennedy being out in his car and waiting for some higher order, Lyn shrugged. She had released him from his babysitting, he wanted that reassurance from someone else, that was his deal.
"He can wait out there. We deserve some privacy anyway, and I told him we were fine. He wants more reassurance that's his deal. You're right I didn't grow up in this kind of lifestyle. I'm not some girl that's just going to do what she's told, Cadence. I know how to pick my battles, but if any of them want that, then I guess myself and the MC's won't mix well. I love my cousins, but any relationship won't work well with me if anyone tries to control me. That's one reason I left Dylan." That was the truth of it. She wasn't going to change because these men were still living in the stone age. She was use to taking care of herself and her own s**t. How many times had she heard her grandmother tell her father on his dark days to "fix his s**t because she wasn't going to'? "I'm not looking for a dictator, just friends maybe a partner. However I do hope Grace turned out alright tonight."

With a last sip that finished her water, Lyn got up from the ground and crossed back into the kitchen. The sun she could see through the windows was starting to brighten the sky. With a sigh she began making coffee. "You're welcome to stay as long as you want. And people are not just worried about you because you are pregnant. It's because they care about you Cadie. They still would have found you."

~Cadence Jaycey Sinclaire-Caine~

"Jasper is sweet, hardworking and actually a really smart guy. He would be a perfect partner. His ties to the MC are what concern me. I know that sounds strange considering my family ties to the local MC. I will be upfront....Orion is a virtual stranger to me. I have a few pictures with him and maybe a handful more memories then pictures. Too me....he isn't family. Big deal, my sperm donor passed his genetic material to him, our other brother and me. He was a man, it is what they do. He wasn't often there for me. Hell my Mother, the woman who birthed me was rarely there for me. I always have and will always be the mistake, and it's okay. I long ago came to terms with that. I accepted it and moved on." Cadence shrugged.
"When I was little....it hurt, now that I am grown I am thankful. My Father did what he could when he could. His first responsibility was to his main family. My Mother...she did what she could and when she remarried...I wasn't his. He tolerated me, he tried to accept me. Mainly he beat the crap out of me, sent me away and that was a true blessing in disguise. I was trying to party my way out of this world. I was done, and decided I wanted out but wanted to enjoy the ride. They sent me away and I straightened up, that black cloud no longer felt like it was hanging over me. No one knew who I was. No one judged me on the s**t my parents did because they didn't know. Besides we were all a bunch of ******** rejects there. None of our parents wanted us. We were all broken in some way, and we helped each other see that and accept it. It doesn't make you a bad person, it is not who you are. That is other people's issues being thrust on you. I made my own family. Especially once I was officially cast out of my Mother's." She went over to the crying baby and scooped her up.
"The MC is family....a family these men have chosen. They may have to do some dark and screwed up things from time to time, but that is all part of the code. Comes with the territory. Jasper is a part of their family, he chose to be for whatever reason. I will never ask him to choose. He can't anyway, he rides with them till death. It is pretty much what he signed up for. That is his family now and forever. I never ever want to be a part of that family. ******** that family! That family will get you shot in the face, and thrown in a dumpster. If he ******** wants that, so ******** be it. I will not sit around and wait for someone to come tell us he is dead, that my child is fatherless because he had his head up his a**. I love Jasper, I do. It is hard for me to even admit that because honestly, I love very few people. I love my Mother, I don't respect her, but I love her. I love Tommy and Tessa, I love Belle and wish I could just take her away from all this. I don't want her to grow up knowing her Mother doesn't want her, I don't want her to grow up knowing her Daddy orders people to be murdered when he feels it must be done. I want Belle to live a normal life. I don't want her to grow up and be ME. To drink too, party to hard, and tight rope everyday trying to decide whether you want to live or just end it. this is no life. What Orion is offering his daughter is no goddamn life. He is to caught up in his own demons to see it." She was changing the baby.
"She only has a few diapers left, I am going to walk to the store and get some more."
"Orion doesn't care about me. He feels obligated to care for me because he feels shitty about how his b***h Mother made sure his coward of a Father kept me at arm's length. It is not sibling love, and honestly all it does is piss me off. I don't need his pity, or his duty bound concern. He can shove it up his a**. I did not need him or his Father growing up, don't need them now. He might look for a bit, but that is to keep up appearances. I mean...if people, normal people. Not MC type people saw the darkness in him....they would run away." She began to pack Belle up.
"I am going to head home. Get a bit of sleep. I would really love it, if you would have lunch with me. I want us to talk about normal stuff though. Not guys, family, relationships or even babies. We can talk food, music, clothes, work and the absolute garbage on tv. Just....please...I need a normal friend, with normal issues that I can help with. Like...Grace...I have so freaking clue how to be friends with now. I feel like...Orion has poisoned our relationship. He'll always be a factor in everything. This is why I tell people I am an only child. Siblings are awful. Should be one child per person!" She chuckled and lifted the baby up.
"Oh, and your hair looks cute like that." With that the brunette was gone. She walked right pass Gloom and he immediately got on his phone.

Cadie yelled as she heard him calling for someone to follow her. She was so with Maralyn on one issue, she wanted a companion or partner. Not a damn warden. She had done nothing wrong to have her freedoms taken away from her. The way she saw it, these men hovering about the women and breathing down their necks was a form of punishment. She had been on her own so long, free to come and go. The way they barked orders at them and kept them under lock and key. She felt like a caged animal.

Cadence sighed when she spotted Brink following her. He at least would keep his distance. He would watch from afar, never interfering with her going about her business unless he had too. She could at least appreciate that, he allowed her that one small dignity.

She went into the small locally owned grocery store. the same family had owned it since her grandparents were children. The elderly couple that owned it were retired and their children operated the store. The parents still liked to open the store for the day because they were up, and enjoyed their usual morning customers.

Cadence was not one of them but they still greeted her and chatted with her. They recognized her from when she was smaller, and use to come in. They fussed over the baby, and chatted with her about some of the things going on in town, and at the big church that they went too. They were a lovely couple, still in love even after 40 years of marriage. She hoped to one day find a love that could last that long.

She paid and stepped aside to make a quick call. A few moments later in walked Brink. He immediately took the grocery bag from her.
"I got you a danish and a coffee. Sure you are hungry and tired." He gave her a small smile. The pair exited the store and he walked with her. Eating his danish and sipping his coffee.
"I know you can't say anything. I am not asking you too. Should I leave town for a while?" She asked and he thought it over as he chewed his food. After he swallowed he looked at her a long moment.
"I know Orion and Jasper want you near. In my opinion though...I think we should find a safe place for some of our more vulnerable and or valuable women. You don't say I told you that, I think you would be safer away though. Tell Orion you want to leave for a while. He will make the arrangements. He'll probably have Jasper take you somewhere, help you settle in a couple of days and have him come back." She nodded but didn't speak.
Clearly things were really bad. Worse then she had thought.
"Is Grace....?"
"She is alive. She will need a friend. Someone to look after her for a bit. Maybe you two can be moved together." She sipped her coffee as she thought.
"Was anyone hurt?"
"Plenty. They'll live though. Last I heard Rion and Jasper were okay."
"Kill?" Brink chuckled.
"He can't be killed. Everyone knows that!"

Finally they were at her Aunt's house. She looked up at the dark house. She didn't really want to go in. She wanted to get in her car and get the hell away from here.
"Go in. Get some sleep. Sure the baby will appreciate Momma resting." She nodded not really listening to him.
"Send word Belle is okay."
"Will do." She walked up the walk, and the stairs. Across the porch and she unlocked the door. She set the bag inside before stepping in with the baby. She set the baby down gently and began to add more diapers to her diaper bag. She checked to make sure she had a full bag and went and gathered a few other things.

She peeked outside to make sure Brink was gone, and no one was out there just yet. She wrote her Aunt a quick note and decided on a road trip with the baby. Just for a bit, she needed to clear her head and maybe sure working on an exit strategy.

She headed over to Greensville. It was where Devil was buried after all. She stopped only to grab some flowers to put on his grave when she went to visit him. She doubted anyone had visited him recently. The thought made her sad. Would that be what happened to Orion? Jasper? Kill? Dereck? Black?

He was home showering now. He would have to bleach the shower down before he left. Makes sure to ride the place of ever speck of blood possible. He had to discard of his clothing as well. They were torn to shreds and he would be incinerating them once he got the chance.

Right now the sun was up, people were out and milling about the streets. He had to get back to the hospital and see Grace. He had promised he would return, and he would keep his promise to her. She needed him now, and he had did enough damage for a while.

Rion had been out playing Doctor with his unfortunate victims. Two so far. He had cut, sliced and carved his way through two people and received no information. They must not have known anything because they did not talk. He hacked fingers off, arms, feet. He had sliced them up and burned them. They screamed plenty, but did not give him the information he wanted. Where was Ace.

He was headed back to the hospital in his car. Grace's overnight bag in hand. He wasn't sure if she was going to be released today or kept a bit longer. He wasn't sure where she would want to go either. He had no idea where they stood currently. She hadn't flipped out on him so he took that as a good sign.

He entered the room and set down two large cups of coffee. One for her, and one for him. He placed her bag on the windowsill. Then finally he went over to her and kissed her forehead.
"Did you get any sleep in here? I brought you coffee, I know theirs probably sucks here." He settled himself into the seat beside the bed.

Lyn listened as Cadence talked about family and the MC. Yes she guessed they were a type of family. One they had chosen. Which did mean something, to each individual. But she felt blood still held some validity. After all her grandparents didn't have to take her and her father in after her mother died. Her cousins didn't have to care a lick for her right now. And yet something made them all seem too. Whether is was obligation as Cadence stated or something more, Lyn didn't know. And she knew Cadie hadn't had the best home life. But she did also feel like the woman was selling everyone a little short.

As Cadie stood and began talking about leaving, Lyn moved to the tiled hall between the kitchen and living room,
"I'll stop by for lunch. I got it at 1, so just let me know where you are. " She watched the brunette moving about the room with the baby. With a smile she told her as she left, "You're a natural."

Once the other woman left, Maralyn ran a hand through her short red locks before crossing to the bathroom to shower. Sure Cadie had mentioned sleep, but she was due in at the Clinic in a few hours. So sleep would not be even remotely productive. Quickly she showered and changed, before packing her bag with things for work along with an extra mag and bullets for the Shield.

Walking down the stairs she saw Gloom still sitting there. Approaching his car, she said,
"I'm heading to the range out of town before going into work. And then she was on her bike and riding south.

Luckily for her the range was 24 hours with only the need of a key fab. During the day the front was staffed and you didn't need a key, but after hours, only members were allowed. She was even more ecstatic to find that it was empty. Meaning she could pull up her i-heart radio, which was a mix of pop, country, and rock music, on her phone and plug it in while she shot at the target yards away. As for work, she had an alarm set on her phone that would interrupt the music through the speakers. Finally she was able to find some time to unwind from everything that had happened in the last couple weeks.

Cadence walked Greensville with Belle in the carrier she had picked up. She had the baby strapped to her chest. The other hard plastic one was ridiculously heavy. She was sure the carrier itself weighed double what the baby did. This new carrier seemed much more portable in her opinion.

She found she liked wearing the baby close anyway. She enjoyed the closeness. The warmth the baby gave off and she loved her scent. She had picked up a few things for the baby while she was out. So far her brother had not bother calling her to set up a time to retrieve his infant, so Cadence planned on keeping her until he sent word.

It was a beautiful day despite how exhausted Cadie was finally starting to feel. Belle was actually an amazingly quiet baby. She paused only to text Lyn.
'I am in Greensville for the morning, 1pm sounds perfect for lunch. Any idea where you would like to go? I will probably still have Belle, hope you don't mind.'

She then continued to explore the town. She had spent very little time in the neighboring town. It sound weird, but she had never really bothered with this town. Well...she had visited a bar or two. That was it for the most part. She had lived in Shadow Creek and this town was a rival, at least it had always been when they were all growing up. This was the first time she felt safe over in this town.

The truce allowed for her to not be caught in the Greensville-Shadow Creek war. She felt like this was probably one of the few benefits of a new rival MC appearing. It had brought the older two MCs together. Not that she had ever truly been associated with either MC. Few would know exactly who she was, or more precisely who she was related too.

Jasper

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Jasper had been travelling around town looking for the Outcasts since they all had left the warehouse. Orion wanted them dead. Which Jasp couldn't doubt his reasons; he had wanted to kill the men who had taken Cadence, but held that in since they had her back. But what the outcasts had done to Grace was unforgivable, and it was at least the second time they had gone after her.

He had gotten the text that Black and a few others had found Law. He was gone finally. Now it was just Ace eluding them all. It was now morning, and yet there was no sign yet. He had heard Orion had taken some leads on men that were close with the Outcasts, but since he hadn't heard more he assumed they were dead ends.

Jasper rode back to the warehouse where they had retrieved Grace. He hoped off the bike and began walking the interior again. There had to be something they were all missing. And hey, where better to start then the beginning.

Dereck had left before the night, which left Grace alone to stay in the hospital, though she kind of preferred it. The nurses and her coworkers were treating her like they pitied her, and that was not something she enjoyed. So, when Orion arrived the next morning with coffee and stuff for her, she felt relieved to see him. She sat up in the bed, glancing over to look at him. "Thanks. You know me too well.." A smile involuntarily pulled at her lips, which caused a white hot pain to shoot through her cuts. A small groan left her lips as she wiped the smile from her face. "I was starting to think you weren't gonna come back." She said to him, teasingly. Just because she wasn't 100% healed didn't mean that she wasn't still herself. "What a great birthday present, huh?" Her eyebrow twitched and she motioned to her face before bringing the coffee to her lips.

The real reason Dereck had not been able to stay with Grace was because Nate had found Ace, and he was tied up waiting at the clubhouse for Dereck to arrive. Dereck was not about to miss out on this chance, si he spent all night torturing Ace. From cigarette burns to allowing some rats to gnaw on his flesh. Dereck was hellbent on making him suffer. It wasn't until the early hours of the morning that Ace's body had finally given up and he died. Dereck made sure to chop him up and had Nate dispose of the remains.

Dereck walked into the kitchen to wash his hands and that is when he saw the note from Marilyn. He had completely forgotten that she had done him a favor the day before. Naturally, he wanted to know more about the mysterious red haired vixen, so he decided to shoot her a text.

'hey. It's Dereck. Grace is doing okay. Let me thank you by taking you to dinner? 8pm? Send me your address.'

Once the message was sent, Dereck composed another to be sent to Orion.

'Ace has been taken care of. He is being spread along the highway as we speak.'

Once that message was sent, Dereck made a few arrangements and had some flowers sent to Grace's hospital room. It was her birthday after all.
