This wasn't really working, though, Ernst thought.
The poop was pouring off of him, and it was pretty slippery. So he took the opportunity to shake himself off. Well - in all honesty, his clothes were probably beyond salvageable at this point. But he still had an irrational desire to protect his shirt. It'd cost so much, and he had no idea whether Prytaneum covered dry cleaning.

Cat wasn't about to let a glancing shot throw her off kilter and she quickly notched another arrow. She let out the breath she realized she'd been holding she released her arrow and smiled with satisfaction as it sank solidly into the bird's breast.

A slash of her arm proved to do little damage as the aim scattered to the side, merely brushing against the bird. It would sting but it was minor. And minor was hardly something they could afford if they were going to down this giant villain. Marisol's Health: 43 HP

The small woman groaned as she shoved herself up, sore and stinking from the bird's attacks. Around her, she could hear people renewing their attacks, and she prayed it was going to be enough. Finding her bow took a moment, as she'd dropped it when the bird hit her, but when she did her hand closed firmly around it. Anger bubbled, mixing with her fear, and she drew an arrow to fit into her bow. Kneeling in the dirty snow, she drew back and released, watching with satisfaction as her arrow sank into a leg. After shielding herself from the rain of poo, Sylvia was pretty upset. She wasn’t entirely sure yet what the best way to attack with her chosen weapon was, but who cared at this point? She would need to make sure she didn’t strain herself trying to swing it around too much, but she was going to do some damage to this bird if she could help it.

Once she had her vision cleared, and arrows back in hand, Tara notched one and took aim for the giant buzzard. Chosen were hurt all over, and none of them were fairing for the best in this one. Furious at this annoying turn of events, she was surprised at how stable and steady her arms were as she exhaled. Loosing the shot, it made a solid impact, and Tara was damn pleased for it.

Most of the dung had been scraped from her skin but Misha still felt the need to shed any bit of clothing she could spare - her scarf, her gloves, a sweatshirt that she had found in one of the abandoned lodge rooms. She didn't care that it left her in just her Goddess' Grace and the baby-doll t-shirt she had first arrived in. The stench of the bird s**t burned almost as much as the stuff itself did.
Anger and disgust helped push back the fear. She swiped at an extended wing with her shield, doing very little damage, but putting her back into it with a hissed damn you.

He coughed as he uncurled a little more, and staggered mostly upright. "Oh, I've been better. How about you?" He swiped at something on his cheek with his sleeve, and righted his glasses before he grabbed his sword. It had landed, thankfully, not far from him. "Ready to carve some bird?" Mal swung and missed-- and blamed it on still being disoriented from the grab and falling, and -- maybe also from the goddamned poop. "--biohazard stickers. On everything." Brian was feeling confident. Unfortunately, the neck was not the area to aim for on a terrifying metal buzzard. He missed, but rather than dwell on it he nocked another arrow.

The breath was just what Zebulon needed. He screamed to let it out, swinging his arm around to smash the bird's body with the shield. It took another moment for Beth to move from being shocked and quivering to being completely and utterly enraged. "That was my HAIR, you feathered ********> She ran up, heedless of any slipping and sliding she did on the filthy snow, thoroughly unconcerned by the threat of claws that could catch and jaws that could snap. She started whaling on the closest extremity she could find, screaming what was mostly a rambling diatribe. If one listened hard enough, they might hear snatches of "if I have to cut it off because of you" and "let me tell you about the sumptuous barbecue we're gonna have with all your baby birds" and other choice expletives that they probably did not expect to hear from Beth's dainty mouth.

Okay, that'd been enough of a break for Ernst.
Haha, was that ever a lie. Still, he'd look like an idiot - and a sitting duck - if he just stood around with his shield waving in the air. So he drove himself forward again with his shield, and bashed the bird's feet again. This was getting to be routine, although probably because everyone else was doing the majority of the fighting. He wasn't really willing to linger long enough to see whether his hits were having any significant effect on this bird.

Sidney drew another arrow with grim determination and loosed it at the bird, a grimace twisting her mouth as it pinged off with another low damage hit. Damn thing...Her eyes searched for her fallen friend and she forced herself to her feet, picking her way through the snow to get closer to Rob. They had to kill it. It had proven that it could do some serious damage, and it had proven that it could heft Chosen into the sky. Considering the explosive power of its last attack, it would probably be better for that to never happen again.
