Tora had left the river path for now, and was wandering her way through the town, thoroughly lost at this point.

About to round a corner, she suddenly heard hooves thundering on the road, and dodged to the side just in time to avoid a large horse with two horns charge past, right where she had been a moment before.

"Now, now. Hold on big horsie thing, I assume you can understand me. Let's not be hasty and start fighting, yeah? Let's just talk a moment!"

It seemed to work, but only for a minute. The bicorn quickly charged again at Tora, and she side-stepped it, landing two punches on it's flank as her Kodama lunged at it, and her new companion pixie launched a bolt of lightning.

All three attacks combined obviously hurt the demon, but they were far from enough to bring it down, and it kept charging at Tora, grazing her once or twice, but never enough of a hit to actually hurt her.

Tora's team finally brought the horse down, and she knelt down in front of it's head, ready to deal the final blow, but thought better of doing so.

"Hey, you, you're mine now! Yeah, I beat you, so now you follow me!"

She whipped out her phone and quickly played with the app, which apparently allowed such acquisitions, to which Tora let out a woop, and quickly desummoned the bicorn so it could heal up before the next fight.

She was lost, and Tora knew it at this point. Surely a small town shouldn't be this hard to navigate, but maybe all the smoke and rubble were disorienting her. Yeah, she'd go with that.

Looking around, to try and find some kind of landmark, she suddenly noticed she was surrounded.

Her fight with the bicorn must have attracted the attention of all the other demons in the area, who were now swarming around her and her two summoned demons.

"Well, it was a short rest, but you'd better come on out and help us, horsie!"

Quickly summoning the bicorn, all four of them, Tora and her demon companions, launched into the fray.

Defeating the pack, Tora quickly looted the area of tokens, still not having any clue what they did, or why she was collecting them. But it was loot damn it, and she would pick it up if it killed her!

Tora was resting, surrounded by the fading ashes of the last group of demons she and her companions had defeated, she was getting tired. All the walking around, all this fighting. She was no where near giving up, she hadn't even found her father yet, but she could stand to have a break.

Suddenly, a large, monkey-faced tiger thing had leapt from the top of a nearby building, landing a short distance from Tora and her friends.

"You fool, you fight weaklings and think you are strong! I will show you who is strong."

Tora sat, mouth agape at her apparent enemy, her eyes darting back and forth between her demons and the large Nue.

"You guys can TALK?! Can these guys talk? Why aren't they talking!?"

The nue roared and let loose a massive breath of ice, covering the area, but Tora had already jumped forward, and was throwing punches. Her demons quickly followed suit, however even with their best attacks, they were barely hurting the Nue.

Out of the corner of her eye, Tora noticed a blue, watery humanoid standing off to the side, watching the fight.

"Hey buddy, want to help out? You don't seem hostile, so come on!"

The new demon stood for a moment, as much as one can when they are made of flowing water, before launching itself at the Nue, smashing into it in a giant crash of water, knocking it down.

The group then piled on, and after a few short minutes of pummeling, the Nue was disolving into a cloud of ash.

"Phew, thanks friend. And seriously, you guys can talk? Why have you not said anything this far??"

The Kodama just shrugged, the Pixie giggled out a "Didn't wanna" while the Bicorn just snorted.

"Well, whatever, talk or don't, just help me find people."

Deciding to fiddle with the app some more, Tora was distracted when her new bestie Dante showed up again, but she quickly started chatting with him, learning new things about the world around them and the app.

Apparently she could 'fuse' demons into something new, something stronger than she currently had.

She would be sad to lose the demons she had, as they had helped her out quite a bit, but they'd still be around, sort of, and she needed all the help she could get right now.

She quickly flipped through her phone again, opening the app and paging through it. Under Dante's guidance, she first fused the Bicorn with High Pixie, forming something called a Makami, which she thought was rather cute.

Strangely, the second fusion seemed to cost tokens, but she accepted the cost and quickly fused Kodama with Aquans, into Zouchou, who looked impressively intimidating.
