"I have the most loving, beautiful, understanding wife in the world...okay I said it, honey, you can stop poking me now, all right?"Another benefit of having a pair of extremely powerful and scary demons acting as your gatekeeper was that when the impossibly massive death machine in the sky above decided to drop a neurotoxin-filled present at your front gate there were two ready-and-willing guard dogs (of a sort) to tear the thing to shreds before it burst open and unleashed its paralyzing toxin on you and all of your besties inside of the warehouse you were calling home. Kakyo wouldn't have even known that there was a threat if it hadn't been for the sounds of steel clashing against something outside and then scraping against the blacktop. Huh...wonder what Mo-Po was doing that he wasn't giving the play-by-play?
...That snore he hadn't noticed until now told the story. Damned sniper had fallen asleep! Maybe if he took the demons off-guard the idiot wouldn't get so comfortable as to go passing out on the job-"SNEAKATTACK!"
A white flour bomb exploded on the sleeping sniper, sending him into a coughing fit that was likely to actually kill him.
That was one way to wake him up, but...probably one of the VERY LAST he would have ever considered.

Alioth Spore...the Boss stood from the table where he had been just about to win Blackjack with a hand of '20'-"Twenty-one!"-lose Blackjack with a hand of '20' and headed towards the door, throwing it open just in time to see Shiva and Zaou-Gongen wipe out another of the dangerous Spores falling from the sky before it could release its toxin into the air and really mess up the people of Oshu. If only all of those things could fall within range of these two's fire and steel...they might not even have to worry about that big thing in the sky, let it stay as some multi-colored, alien-looking decoration. Alas, they had a whole city to protect...and others the country-over. Couldn't just let it sit there, but they also had to get this dance thing working before they could go on the attack.

He was half-deaf and pretty sure every hair on his right side had been at least slightly-burned by the time he walked back into the warehouse...annoyed, a little jumpy...before a thought came to him that really irked him and had him shouting back through the door to the outside of the building.

Shiva and Zaou-Gongen had managed to pull him back away from the toxins before they could release him from this freaking walking purgatory. All of these people screwing with him...his gang, Shiva...no, no, no thinking like that! Think happy thoughts...think of Kotori...think of what it was like to listen to her sing in the morning with two working ears...

"I have the most loving, beautiful, understanding wife in the world...okay I said it, honey, you can stop poking me now, all right?"It worked like clockwork now and the thought that should have made him happy almost bored him and made him want to go screw it up just so he could get some action; from the canopy Mo-Po would shout out the location of an incoming threat and a few seconds later he would hear the telltale sound of steel on flesh and then the threat wouldn't be heard from again. It paid to have two of the strongest deities in any pantheon out there...but still, he was a doer! He liked to fight and get dirty and really be involved in this! Letting the demons handle it all would make him stir crazy. He stood and cracked his neck and considered handling the next one himself.
Wouldn't hurt anything really, would it? Worst came to worst, the demons were always there...

Refreshing, personal, hands-on violence...what more could a Boss ask for? ...He didn't ask that question out loud, of course, because he knew that the answers would only be of the not-productive sort from a team that absolutely loved to answer any question with full-on snark. He wasn't going to give them that opportunity this time. This time, he was just reveling in the satisfaction of protecting their place from idiots trying to take it from them, not unlike a normal day before all this had gone down.
If only they had been Lin Kuei...wait, no...hold on a minute...he looked in the inside of their jackets...nope, no insignia. "I have the most loving, beautiful, understanding wife in the world...okay I said it, honey, you can stop poking me now, all right?"Sure, he could go into details about the amount of a** he had kicked on the rioter who had just walked up to his warehouse with nothing in his hand but a club demanding entrance despite the demons, despite the gang inside, despite the sniper, despite the Boss himself and how intimidating and tough he looked when he came out, in spite of the fact that there was literally no reason in the world to think this was a good idea. And yes, he beat the guy's ever-loving a** six ways from Sunday and sent him packing down the road in a matter of minutes...
But let's just stop for a moment and admire the fact that this guy had the BALLS to walk up to a warehouse guarded by ALL OF THAT and still demand all of the stuff inside and the warehouse itself holding nothing but a club, his pride, and a dream...what a gutsy fellow...almost made him want to reward him somehow. And so he did...with punches to the face and a lesson: That thing you just did? Awesome. But stupid. Don't do it again... None of that for the Alioth Spore that had dropped in front of the warehouse not five minutes later on its own and simply glooped there as if waiting for a human to walk by so it could explode and then splat/DEAD that person with its hidden packet of neurotoxin. That was a d**k move. A coward's way of picking a fight. That kind of enemy wasn't even worth the a**-kicking he could have given it, so he left the clean-up of that rainbow-colored package of death to the demons that made quick work of it again. It annoyed him that Alioth was still at that...why didn't these enemies learn? That was why they kept losing...they didn't adapt. Sure the next one adapted from the one before, but while on the same Septentrione? No adaptation.
It was almost a bit droll, really. He liked enemies that thought on their feet and brought the fight in an interesting way that pushed him. This...well, this was that for a little while, until it wasn't. Which was good, really, but boring. Boring was good...except when it wasn't. In this case, though...good. "I have the most loving, beautiful, understanding wife in the world...okay I said it, honey, you can stop poking me now, all right?"Demon attack...demon destroyed by demons...inside, Kakyo feels as though he is plagued by demons while listening to the demonic minions of the Vultures talking about their own demons. Demons, demons, everywhere and not a drop to drink...except what was in the fridge, which was not demons. Did it seem like there were a lot of demons and demon references going around the city lately? Made Kakyo wonder...why were they called demons in the first place? Some were angels, some were deities and gods, and who knew where they came from? It was a legitimate question that nobody had asked and now it occurred to him...
...But who would he ask in the first place? That guy from yesterday, the Anguished One? He might know something about it if he was as interested as he seemed...but what was he? Who was he? Did he know who made the App? What was it for? He hadn't thought too deeply about it except when talking to Hinako, but were all of the people out there using the tools that he had? Summoning, fusing, drawing higher-level demons? Couldn't this city get insanely out of hand at this rate? Idly his mind drifted to Kotori...and he wanted to go see her and check up on her again. Maybe he would...

Youmu Konpaku"Tch..Lucifer! she called out, the rebel king of Hell coming forth. It was an...arduous encounter....
And, with her bringing out something so big so fast...It was clear she'd stopped pulling her punches.
"Don't stop! We're going to run them out of Oshu!" she called out confidently, watching as the powerful demon sent out Almighty spell after almighty spell, draining it's energy fast...but, also ridding them of the demons.
As Youmu sheathed her blade though...her eyes went wide as she looked up.
"I..is that.." she called, walking at first...and then sprinting over to it. A small teal demon held it's arms out..and cooed happily upon seeing her.
"Poltergeist!!!!" she cried out with tears in her eyes, jumping up to catch the demon and spin him around. He'd given his life to save her from a Megrez Bud....
So, she was more than a bit excited to have him back.
